This place is very professional and prompt in dealing with all our needs, such as sending vaccination records to the dog boarding place. We have a medium sized dog. We picked this vet because of it's proximity but it has been a great fit for us. Read Less

Was told our visit would be less than seventy dollars over the phone and came out to a bill of 350...everytime I call they act like they have no idea and promise a call back from a vet. I have never gotten a call back. SO many better/honest vets in this area. Read Less

Dr. Behrens is amazing!! We went in for the first time for boosters for our two dogs. One dog, our 5-year-old husky mix had been having awful anxiety problems. Dr Ingrid was incredibly knowledgeable about possible causes/preventions, she had a ton of advice for us from training to medication. Dr. Behrens gave every possible option before even mentioning medication which made us so comfortable because we didn't want to medicate our fur baby and knowing that we had exhausted every other effort was great. Dr. Behrens has completed so many continuing education courses she knows almost EVERYTHING about keeping our pups healthy. We will continue to see her because she has the knowledge, demeanor, and passion to keep our pups healthy and happy! Read Less

Dr. Hayes is the only vet I trust to take my cats. He is goofy, sweet and very nice. My cats like him and the techs make sure to take care of them. When they get sick in their carrier, they clean it for us! Not too fond of any other vet, but Hayes is the one vet i actually like and very sweet. Not too fond of their location, but the payment plan they offer is definitely the one major perk that out weights the con of the location.Read Less

We have been taking our pets to this vet over the last 26 years. They have been really wonderful to both me and my cat and dog. In an attempt to reassure my little dog, the doctor even got on the floor to greet him. The vet gives great recommendations and really listens and cares for the well-being of our animals. I have referred several friends to Boulder Vet Hospital over the years, and they have all been very happy taking their pets there. Read Less

I really like this vet office.  They are a very thoughtful caring and competent group.   I also think the women at the front are fabulous.  I have called with issues that needed quick follow up and the reception group has been very helpful in getting me to the right people and also getting a response.  I have been going here for 12 years.  They are also very helpful in giving you treatment options and the doctors provide the best follow up of any vets that I have ever worked with.  I really appreciate the thoughtful and prompt follow up. The doctors here get 5 stars all day long, great and personable and have an awesome bedside mannerThe receptionists are a totally different story; most of the time you're ignored when you walk in, they have the bedside manner of a grizzly bear making it about the most unwelcome place to enter into..My advice: ditch miss New York at the front desk and hire someone with a sense of humanism and what it's like to come in with a pet emergency because by her actions today she could care less....I had an emergency and wasn't even acknowledged, rather she yammered on the phone about underwater dog treadmills to whoever she was talking. Just got a puppy and she got sick, called Mon. a.m. to make an appointment and the lady said to come in at 1:30. Got there at 1:30 and they said I must have called a completely differ place all together... went home and called the very same number and talked to the EXACT same lady. They turned me away with my adorable sick puppy. Have used them before for my cat... asked to be notified when they got the oral rinse in to add to my cats water... been 9 months since I have heard from them. The Vet is very nice and through BUT the staff is completely lazy and/or unorganized.Read Less

First of all thorough and knowledgable. We adopted a puppy from Boulder Humane who had some stomach issues. BVH caught an intestinal bacteria another vet missed and tape worm. Not only that they truly care about your pets. Dr. Berman calls a few days after each visit to see how Zoe is doing and check on the effects of any meds or new food. Sheryl, our vet tech, and all the office staff remember her (well she is cute) and are always happy to explain everything to a overprotective first time puppy owner. We have a rare-breed, special needs cat and learned quickly that he requires an extremely qualified vet to handle his issues.  Boulder Vet fit the bill, they have taken wonderful care of him!   The vets here are all gentle and patient with our cat, and he is not always easy to handle!  They also recognized potential health problems unique to hairless cats that our previous vet completely overlooked.  They also accept that we may know some things about his care that they might have overlooked, and consider the breed-specific concerns we raise.  Overall, we've been highly impressed with the level of care they provide.They are also super easy to communicate with: In the month before his surgeries I called them at least twice a week with some new concern or question, and they always took the time to fully answer me.  They called a couple of times the week after his surgery to check in on him, and then again a week or so later.  We also appreciate their cost consideration: If there are two treatment options, they'll tell you the pros and cons of both, including cost, before letting you chose, and they do their best to come up with affordable, simple treatments when possible.
