Great people, so helpful. I couldn't get my cat to take some medicine and they helped me figure out a way. My Nebula is feeling much better now.

This place used to be great. It was open 24 hours and was close to our house. Then they stared to cut back hours, which in itself is not the problem that stimulated this review. On Thursday my wife took our cat in because she was lethargic and not eating. They drew blood and gave her some medication that initially seemed to help. On Friday morning they called back saying the blood tests showed our cat had pancreatitis, so we brought her back in for more tests and they sent us home with four medications and special food. On Saturday morning she was back to being lethargic and not eating. My wife called early in the morning and did not receive a call back all day. Finally, shortly before 4 pm she was able to reach someone and was told to take our cat to a 24 hour emergency vet because they had been dealing with emergencies all day and were closing at 4. Pancreatitis is a serious condition and requires immediate treatment to try to fend off more permanent chronic ailments. When my wife contacted a 24 hour clinic, they asked when our cat was diagnosed with the pancreatitis. When my wife told them "yesterday" they were quite surprised that VCA had not been responsive. As for VCA, we are going to have to make some hard decisions as to whether we will keep them as our primary vet, if this is the way they treat a serious acute illness in a cat they have been seeing for 8 years, and after we spent $800 on tests with them in the past two days! Fortunately it looks like the 24 hour vet will be able to get all the expensive test results from VCA before they leave at 4, so hopefully that part goes well. UPDATE: The 24 hour emergency clinic was not able to get through to VCA to get the test results, they kept getting sent to voicemail with no calls back. Finally my wife drove to VCA and managed to catch them before they left and was able to get paper copies of the test results and clinical notes so she could drive them to the 24 hour emergency clinic. I took my dog in for a semi-urgent dental issue. I was able to see a vet within 12 hrs of calling which I really appreciated. My overall experience, however, was poor. The vet and vet technician were not assertive and did not make an effort to find out what was wrong with our dog's teeth. Blood work was $150, which I can get for half the price at the Humane Society of Boulder Valley. Pain medication and an antibiotic totaled close to $90, leaving me with a $200+ bill for barely any veterinary care. In addition, I was quoted for dental surgery up to $1000. I walked a way from the office feeling scammed with no additional knowledge to what was wrong with my dog's mouth. I was able to have the surgery done elsewhere for a quarter of the price and better overall animal attentiveness. Read Less

This place did an excellent job, and did the best they could to save him. Christine, the manager is very understanding and caring, and even wiped clean a small remaining balance that I had with the hospital. I highly recommend this place, and when I do get another animal, I will continue to use this office as my primary care location! Read Less

No one knows their pets better than their owners, so when we know that something is just a bit "off" we seek help from the professionals. They can help give our pets a voice and help us understand what might be going on. Our 8-year old goldendoodle, Rusty, has been treated like a rockstar over the past couple of months by the whole staff at VCA All Pets, but our number one fan is Dr. Jessica Johnson. She has been very compassionate, dedicated, and thorough to help us get to a diagnosis. She has been great at communicating options and a clear treatment plan. We also feel grateful for the expertise of Dr. Chris Blum and Dr. Heather Parrish, also involved in the care of Rusty. If you're new to the area or looking for a vet you can trust, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Dr. Johnson (or any of the vets) at VCA All Pets. Read Less

My first experience at VCA All Pets was when my young Golden Retriever had an emergency. I was new to the area and All Pets was the only clinic around who would take him immediately. Since then (almost 10 years) I have had nothing but compassionate, professional and intelligent experiences, both with my dog (10.5 years old) and my cat (now 9.5 years old). Dr Shinn is AMAZING. She has successfully removed 2 nasty tumors from my dog (both never recurred despite the higher probability), tended his infections and playground injuries and kept him up to date with vaccinations etc. My dog is still excited to visit VCA All Pets each and every time - because he is treated like he is welcome - like one of their own. This is important to me and not so easy to find! My cat hates everything about going to the vet... Yet it is at VCA All Pets, under the care of Dr Shinn that he has come back from a couple of very serious illnesses and today is a thriving, happy kitty, with no permanent damage. Then there is me... My pets are my kids and I'm upset when they are not well. I appreciate that the staff take the time to speak to me about everything, to let me visit at odd hours when my cat or dog are overnight in hospital, to calm and reassure me. I know when I take Marley or Smokey Joe into VCA All Pets, they are getting the best treatment they can from people who know what they are doing and WHO CARE. It's priceless to me.Read Less

The vets and staff at VCA All Pets in Boulder have taken care of our various basset hounds for many years. They have always been EXCELLENT. Yesterday was the icing on the cake. Our 13-yr-old basset, Gus, had what appeared to be a severe stroke. We rushed him over to All Pets. Two techs and one of the vets, Dr. Edgren, came out to our Jeep, put Gus on a stretcher and took him to an examining room. Tom & I waited, expecting that we were going to have to make a painful decision. When Dr. Edgren joined us, she gave us welcome but unexpected news: Gus had not had a stroke; he had idiopathic vestibular disease. She explained how she had arrived at that diagnosis and gave us a short course in this heretofore unheard of disease. The meds she prescribed worked like a bandit -- they're to be given once a day for four more days. That's it! Gus this morning is completely back to normal, walking, eating, and being his sweet self. A far cry from when this disease hit hard, fast and out of the blue yesterday afternoon. Our gratitude to Dr. Edgren and all of her colleagues at VCA All Pets. They've given us nothing but first-rate, compassionate service.Read Less
