We just started using Rose and we love the clinic setting and the staff. We have a small breed puppy and they cared for him perfect all while caring for large breed dogs and livestock. We were given all the costs upfront as well as options for different meds and programs the care is first rate and the prices are fair and within what we expected.

My male Australian Shepherd dislocated his (elbow?) In Pueblo, I took him to the emergency vet nearby, they did a horrid job, cared very little for his comfort and were very slow with everything they did. When they found out it was a dislocation, they were very apprehensive about performing the needed procedure to fix it. I asked repeatedly if they felt confident about doing the procedure so my poor boy would not have to wait till other offices were open since this occurred on a Saturday afternoon. They made up excuse after excuse and then went to go call other emergency vets in Colorado Springs to see if one of those offices would do it. After getting a hold of Rose in Canon, from a recommendation of a friend, the vet on call had no experience putting a dislocated joint back into place and called Dr Rose herself. Dr Rose offered to come in on her day off, after business hours to help perform the needed procedure. Everyone there was awesome, they cared about my dogs comfort and even opted to carry him back to the operating table on his dog bed, so we did not have to transfer him while he was conscious. The cost for the procedure, which included keeping him overnight, was far lower than I was expecting, especially after paying nearly the same amount at the emergency vet in Pueblo for the visit, some x rays, and a weeks worth of pain meds. I have a new veterinarian now, I will make the trip to Canon City any time I have to take my dogs to the vet. I will never go back to the emergency vet in North Pueblo unless I cannot make it to Canon in time. It's great to know there are veterinarians who still care about animals, and not just how much they can charge the owners.

I've used Dr. Rose for my sheep, dogs and cats and absolutely love her and her staff....they have huge hearts and compassion for all of them. When my 1 year old ewe was critically ill with copper toxicity (from licking a horse mineral block) she spent hours on the internet trying to find the medicine that would counteract the poisoning and one that I could actually afford. We knew she didn't have much chance but she never gave up. We did lose her but it sure wasn't because of lack of effort on Dr. Rose's part or her clinic. They are the BEST!

A very positive visit. Entire staff friendly professional helpful. Visiting here from Texas in our motorhome we were desperate .We called Dr. Rose after meeting a young lady in another veterinarian parking lot. The lady told us there was only one other choice "call dr rose".
We called Dr Rose office and were told come by we will work you in.
We had to wait over an hour - acceptable as we had no appointment and they were busy.

Doctor rushed through everything when she finally came in. Kept changing "blunt" needles on the hypodermics. One good tech - Becky. Unfriendly receptionist. I am having our records transferred to our old vet tomorrow. We were new clients and treated terribly.

Dr. Rose and staff have treated my dog, cat, lamb, sheep and chickens. I see a negative review but I have to say that if you aren't a client, ALL veterinarians MUST put their clients' animals first. I know that may sound cold, but Dr. Rose is one of the busiest and most dedicated vets I've ever used and I've had many over the years, living in six states and having livestock in all of them. The whole staff is extremely compassionate and I've never been disappointed. I hope the person(s) who gave a negative response will rethink her comments. I would also suggest anyone that has pets get a vet that is familiar with your pet and have wellness checks and give them a chance to build a rapport with you and your animals. Had you been a client of Dr. Rose's she would have (and has) taken every measure possible to see your animal. I put my faith in this clinic and will continue to do so.

Dr. Rose and her staff are fantastic. I have been a client for some years, and have had nothing but great experiences with her and the staff. She is a very knowledgeable and talented vet and has treated all my animals, one of whom requires regular treatments for a chronic condition. I have seen how hard they work and the long hours everyone there puts in. They are a very dedicated team and I recommend them wholeheartedly.

Reading Nadia's review, I have to say I disagree with her assessment of Dr Rose. We too had an emergency-over Memorial weekend. I called six emergency numbers, including the 24 hour hospitals in Pueblo and Colorado Springs. All were either too busy to see my cat right away, or weren't answering or returning calls. Only Dr Rose responded, and ended up saving our cat's life. One has to understand that vets perform triage, just like human emergency centers. In our case, time was of the essence. Had she taken her time to visit a dying dog, than our cat who was saved, would have died. This is not a perfect system, but I do believe that Dr Rose makes her decisions based on compassion and empathy, not only for the animals she treats, but the owners as well. Having to turn away an animal that is suffering, is heartbreaking, for all parties involved. I don't believe from what I see of Dr Rose, that she does this lightly.I think Dr Rose is awesome! She is one of the best vets I've ever had in my fifty years of being an animal mom to dogs, cats, horses, monkeys, birds, etc, etc, etc. Consider your pets fortunate to live in the vicinity of Dr Rose. She gets an A+ in my book.

My sister's sweet dog did die, by the way. I don't agree that such apparent apathy on Dr. Rose's part is "the best care for the animals who are a part of your family."

Although I would say that Dr. Rose is the very best vet in the area, the new assistant vet she has is one of the highest-charging vets in the area. Dr. Rose gives you one surgical estimate but if the other vet does the surgery, it very well may come to be charged at 50%-100% higher. Perhaps the lack of experience of the new vet increases the time involved in surgery... I don't know. I had to switch vets just because of the cost even though I'd been with Dr. Rose for over a decade. (After the surgery, I checked with other vets and clinics and they would have done it for 1/4 to 1/2 the HUGE cost I was charged!) The staff is amazing, the office is new, beautiful and clean, but the vet that takes her place when Dr. Rose is off charges outrageous prices!! As much as I love Dr. Rose, I can no longer afford to take my animals there on the off-chance that I will have to see the other vet. :( If I took out the unreasonably high rate changing from one vet to another, I would have given a 5 star rating because Dr. Rose truly is an amazing vet.

A very positive visit. Entire staff friendly professional helpful. Visiting here from Texas in our motorhome we were desperate .We called Dr. Rose after meeting a young lady in another veterinarian parking lot. The lady told us there was only one other choice "call dr rose".
We called Dr Rose office and were told come by we will work you in.
We had to wait over an hour - acceptable as we had no appointment and they were busy.

Decided to try this clinic for our new rescue dog. I am so sorry that I did. Very unprofessional personnel. Had to wait an hour in the exam room. Doctor rushed through everything when she finally came in. Kept changing "blunt" needles on the hypodermics. One good tech - Becky. Unfriendly receptionist. I am having our records transferred to our old vet tomorrow. We were new clients and treated terribly.

About three weeks later she is back to her old self again and sporting some pretty fancy scars We cannot begin to tell you how we appreciate the efforts of the Rose staff. The word great does not do them justice. They are truly God's angels.

Dr. Rose and staff have treated my dog, cat, lamb, sheep and chickens. I see a negative review but I have to say that if you aren't a client, ALL veterinarians MUST put their clients' animals first. I know that may sound cold, but Dr. Rose is one of the busiest and most dedicated vets I've ever used and I've had many over the years, living in six states and having livestock in all of them. The whole staff is extremely compassionate and I've never been disappointed. I hope the person(s) who gave a negative response will rethink her comments. I would also suggest anyone that has pets get a vet that is familiar with your pet and have wellness checks and give them a chance to build a rapport with you and your animals. Had you been a client of Dr. Rose's she would have (and has) taken every measure possible to see your animal. I put my faith in this clinic and will continue to do so.

Dr. Rose and her staff are fantastic. I have been a client for some years, and have had nothing but great experiences with her and the staff. She is a very knowledgeable and talented vet and has treated all my animals, one of whom requires regular treatments for a chronic condition. I have seen how hard they work and the long hours everyone there puts in. They are a very dedicated team and I recommend them wholeheartedly.

Reading Nadia's review, I have to say I disagree with her assessment of Dr Rose. We too had an emergency-over Memorial weekend. I called six emergency numbers, including the 24 hour hospitals in Pueblo and Colorado Springs. All were either too busy to see my cat right away, or weren't answering or returning calls. Only Dr Rose responded, and ended up saving our cat's life. One has to understand that vets perform triage, just like human emergency centers. In our case, time was of the essence. Had she taken her time to visit a dying dog, than our cat who was saved, would have died. This is not a perfect system, but I do believe that Dr Rose makes her decisions based on compassion and empathy, not only for the animals she treats, but the owners as well. Having to turn away an animal that is suffering, is heartbreaking, for all parties involved. I don't believe from what I see of Dr Rose, that she does this lightly.I think Dr Rose is awesome! She is one of the best vets I've ever had in my fifty years of being an animal mom to dogs, cats, horses, monkeys, birds, etc, etc, etc. Consider your pets fortunate to live in the vicinity of Dr Rose. She gets an A+ in my book.

These people are absolutely amazing!! They did an absolute incredible job delivering all of my dogs 19 puppies!! I wouldn't take my babies anywhere else!! Thank each and every one of you Angels!!! :)

"I am not taking on any new clients. I am too busy." These were Dr. Rose's words when I begged her to come see my sister's dog because we thought she was dying. Dying. This despite the fact that Dr. Rose is a veterinarian specialist with advertised "24 hour emergency care service" on her website.
My sister's sweet dog did die, by the way. I don't agree that such apparent apathy on Dr. Rose's part is "the best care for the animals who are a part of your family."

Although I would say that Dr. Rose is the very best vet in the area, the new assistant vet she has is one of the highest-charging vets in the area. Dr. Rose gives you one surgical estimate but if the other vet does the surgery, it very well may come to be charged at 50%-100% higher. Perhaps the lack of experience of the new vet increases the time involved in surgery... I don't know. I had to switch vets just because of the cost even though I'd been with Dr. Rose for over a decade. (After the surgery, I checked with other vets and clinics and they would have done it for 1/4 to 1/2 the HUGE cost I was charged!) The staff is amazing, the office is new, beautiful and clean, but the vet that takes her place when Dr. Rose is off charges outrageous prices!! As much as I love Dr. Rose, I can no longer afford to take my animals there on the off-chance that I will have to see the other vet. :( If I took out the unreasonably high rate changing from one vet to another, I would have given a 5 star rating because Dr. Rose truly is an amazing vet.
