The staff here has always been SO helpful and accommodating, even when my pups weren't. Great customer service and always got me in when my schedule was weird. I am so sad to leave this location as I have moved to Wichita, but I am able to transfer their files to the location here at least. Thanks again for always taking care of my Cooper and Percy! This team is AWESOME! For whatever reason our usual Banfield could not take a walk in when our Lab injured her hind leg the other day. So I called this Banfield and she was able to be seen that day. I searched through my check-in's from 1 year ago, just to find the location that stitched my dog's lip shut after he was attentive to his surroundings enough to chase a squirrel into a fence. The review ratings on here are awful, so I need to throw one out there for the team. I had such a great experience with this location as a nervous new client who had her dog bleeding all over her. My dog "Marty's" vet was a calm-handed and rather personable woman, and I plan on coming back to see her... asap since my accident prone dog was excited to play with a skunk last night and got skunk scratched in his wonderful scarface. Cheers. Areas to improve: Someone tell those gosh darn dogs to stop barking back there! People are trying to wait in the waiting room with our dogs. A few years ago, our cat took a massive turn for the worst.. we had no money thanks to another vets office taking everything we had to do absolutely nothing for her. They were so kind. My cat had a hard time breathing and they placed her with oxygen at no charge for 3 hours. Didn't charge us for the visit, unfortunately all we could afford was a steroid and asthma medication. It did ease her suffering, but it unfortunately didn't last long and she passed. But these people eased her suffering and worked as best as they would with us. Read Less

My beloved dog was just old and I hesitated to take her I called on Friday before Easter weekend and they were willing to see her on Easter my dog had a tumor she wasn't able to walk although she was eating the nurse on the phone was so nice gave me full info before taking her in so I waited a week my husband took her and he was treated highly with great care put my dog to Peace the vet gave him full info and everything was taken care of we recommend this place today I received a sympathy card in the mail with everyone's signature how nice and caring can they be thank you so much for your service and yes my other dog is resting and we have used banfield in monument too and the lady vet is awesome and their techs are very caring. Very friendly staff. My two feline roommates have been treated only with kindness. My female, Trina was not at all happy during a recent visit; I dropped her off on Wednesday 29MAR17 at 0700 for an 1100 appointment. She was hungry, hadn't eaten since 2100 28MAR17. Stressed, in the kennel till the procedure. She got frightened and lashed out at the staff. None of the staff had a harsh word to say about her. Do not take your pet to ANY Banfield they all have the same motto...make the visit as costly as possible. I have had cats for 49 years, and not a small amount since I have always had them as pets and rescued. I had a cat starting to get URI (Upper Respiratory Infectio) and a good vet would have examined her and recommending starting her on an antibiotic and having me watch for improvements. Banfield wanted to run blood tests, a chest x-ray, test her for FIV/FELV and FIP, and then go from there. Although there is nothing wrong with all these tests, there's almost no probable need, unless she does not start improving. Also, there is no such thing as an ACCURATE test for FIP...the tests have false positives and false negatives, therefore definitely unnecessary! My point is, the amount they tried to get me to spend, was definitely uncalled for and ridiculous...not to mention I found their drug prices on average much higher, sometimes as much as 250% The cat was just fine and is happy and healthy. When you look for a vet, make sure their number one priority is you and your pet, not padding their wallet. Also, do some research on core and non-core vaccinations, while there are some very important ones there are also many non-core that are not. Read Less

I have always been treated very well by Banfield...until I went here. I have brought 2 different dogs in and had similar experiences with both. The vet would never speak to me personally, the nurses at the counter were rude and not even remotely sympathetic to any of my questions or concerns, and when I had a dog that was legitimately having a medical emergency, they said they couldn't see her for a week. I will never go here again, I take the time to go all the way across town to Powers where I'm not treated like garbage and they actually seem to care for my dogs! Read Less

I have had my two dogs on the wellness plan for around 4 years. I have never had a problem with Banfield, except for last year when we went to the one on Southgate. It was terrible experience where I didn't even get to talk to the vet about the issues with my dogs. I talked to the technician by the front desk in front of a room full of people. The things they told me were completely contradictory to what they had told me just 6 months prior. It felt like they just wanted to take my money and for me to leave as quickly as possible. With that being said, I was very hesitant to schedule another appointment with Banfield. I seriously considered canceling their wellness plans and moving them to a different vet. But after some time really thinking about what I wanted to do, I decided to take a chance and schedule an appointment with a Banfield that was a little out of my way. I read the two reviews on this location and was skeptical of how my experience would go. My worries were not necessary, however, because this was one of the BEST vet experiences I've had. We were seen at 0815 in the morning and stayed during the whole visit, which lasted around an hour (and that's exactly how long we were told it would last, too). The lady at the front desk was very nice while checking us in, and the technician we saw was also very nice when we went into the exam room. They asked what questions or concerns we had and took the time to explain what needed to happen as far as their treatment. They were very calm while handling our dogs, which is nice because they're already scared and nervous at the vet as it is anyway. They made sure to get down low to the dogs' level to ensure our dogs were comfortable. They took our dogs back one at a time for their comprehensive exams and did not keep us waiting long. After the exams, the vet, Dr. Rizzardi, came in explained what was normal and what needed to be worked on. He was not condescending in any way and explained everything thoroughly. He gave us all the information we needed and answered all of the questions we had. One of our dogs will need a minor surgery on one of his teeth, and Dr. Rizzardi took the time to explain what the best payment options would be in order to complete the surgery, My husband and I were very satisfied with our experience at this location and will continue to schedule appointments with Dr Rizzardi for all of our dogs' needs. In light of this experience, we have to decided to keep our plan and have no concerns when it comes to scheduling our dogs for appointments anymore. This place is the BEST Banfield I have ever went to. I was so pleased with the service, the compassion, the professional attitudes of staff and physcian. Dr. Mac Donald is thee Best I have ever had. My dogs are not young and I have had many vets cause I am very particular how I am treated and my dogs are treated and my experiences at this Banfield have always been perfect without complaint. I would recommend and have recommened this place and the above mentioned doctor to friends and family.Read Less

This was by far my worst experience at any Banfield hospital. My dog was taken back for a comprehensive exam and my husband and I could hear the staff yelling at my dog to stop! The vet admitted that it was them and that our dog was extremely poorly trained and she could not do an entire exam on him. My husband then said he didn't appreciate them yelling at our dog like that and the vet told us that "if you don't like the care you receive here, there are plenty of other banfields you can go to". After that I was done with this visit. My dog is very well trained and if the vet were to ask us to help him listen we would have absolutely no problem, but it seemed they wanted him in and out and they didn't really care about him at all. I could not believe the rudeness coming from a professional who acted extremely unprofessional. Nothing was explained to us and on our way out the vet tech came to give me a syringe with medication in it and said give this to your dog because we couldn't. I would never give my dog that because who knows what it is, so needless to say I will never return to this banfield ever again!Read Less

I wouldn't even give them one star if it would let me rate them worse than that. I used to take all of my animals there, until I had to have my beloved cat put down a few years ago. The clinic mishandled every step of the process, including telling me they weren't sure which dead cat in the freezer was mine. When I complained about it to them and through the BBB they did nothing except blame me. This place just wants money! I would steer clear if your animals are a part of your family the way mine are. I have since found a fabulous clinic and I will forever continue to spread the horrible story of what happened at this clinic to hopefully save some other family from going through what I did.
