I highly recommend Bijou Animal Hospital. You get no-nonsense, excellent veterinary care for your pet. I work on the human side of healthcare so I've seen how the heartstrings are tugged at to get those extra dollars out of people when it comes to their pets. You won't get nickle-and-dimed to death at Bijou. What you will get is some great care for your pet from some great, knowledgeable people who care. And yes, I am sorry, but sometimes stuff happens that does cost hundreds of dollars... S*%t Happens! Get over it and pay up. It's the price of pet ownership. Read Less

The joy of this place begins when you call with any question and are not rushed off the phone but rather listened to and engaged with and given good information. Where else does that happen?! I love taking Dixie here! I don't even know where to start off honestly because I have so many good things to say about this Vet Clinic! Dixie loves it here herself to where I would say "Wanna go see the Vet?" She is ecstatic and would run around my house expecting to see the staff there! Price wise, I believe they are very fair! I had to drop off fresh fecal matter one time because my pup was just having a difficult time and instead of making an appointment, why not do the labs first to determine if she needs on or not!? And so far, so good, she did not one because it wasnt anything took serious! I love to recommend my friends here and always will! Read Less

I can't begin to describe how wonderful everyone is from the front desk staff to the fabulous medical care that is given by these vets. This place came highly recommended by one of the doctors I work for when my first born became sick with liver failure. They did everything that they medically could to keep her as well as long as they could and when it was time to give her peace, they were so tender and kind. So tactful and caring for myself, my daughter, who sat with us while she passed and for our sweet Millie. First let me start with whomever replies to messages and phone calls. They're rude and presumptuous. They also keep accusing me of not wanting to pay bills but all my bills are paid with them. My complaint was filed because they were charging fees that werent discussed with me and fees they said would be $0. Such as a follow up fee for a vet visit to see how my dog was doing with the medicine. They charged my mother in law stating they never said the follow up appointment was free. They told me a price for my dogs nails to be cut over the phone and than when its done they charged me more without informing me. Told me one of my dogs were being too difficult. They also neglected to tell me facts about my dogs health and when I disputed that they still made me pay to hear it again. The same exact thing. I have much more to complain about but itd take my whole day. Just avoid at all costs. Read Less

I transferred my pets records to this vet on the recommendation of a friend. I had been taking my pets (all 4 of them) to our previous vet for 15 years until she retired in February 2018. Was wanting to find somewhere good & closer to my home. I've now been to Bijou Animal Hospital twice. Both times have been negative & I won't be going back again. I'll simply find another vet. The first visit was chaotic...there were dogs barking the entire time & an unorganized/frenetic front desk. And we had to wait for the vet to finally come in after 25 minutes. When he did, he was condescending & talked over me & wouldn't listen. I almost walked out I was so frustrated. I even called back the next day to discuss the situation with the front desk & asked them to put a note in my account that I never wanted to be scheduled with that vet again. The 2nd visit (this past Saturday) was not good either. I had explained on the phone that my dog had cracked her dewclaw & would possibly need to be put under with quick anesthesia so it could be trimmed. (This has happened before & this was the standard of care my previous vet provided.) While I appreciated being scheduled for an appointment on the same day, I was frustrated that all they did was wrap her paw with a bandage & charge me $26. I had even had a conversation with the tech after they took my dog in the back to look at her paw. My dog was clearly in pain when we left & the front desk gal wanted to argue with me that the care we received was all they could do. It was a waste of an hour. She also was hesitant to ask for pain meds for my dog. I just paid & left. I will not be going back to this vet again. I see all these glowing reviews on Google, but I wonder if some of these patrons have never had really, truly great service & are just settling for the terrible service that Bijou offers. Whatever the case, anyone choosing to go to this vet should consider it a "buyer beware" situation. Read Less

Pretty expensive; but, phenomenal care. My pooch had ten teeth removed plus other dental procedures. His post surgery medications and care instructions were great. He is comfortable and thriving.

Very friendly and knowledgeable staff. Dr.Bausch was kind and helpful, pretty quick in getting the treatment complete. My dog is terrified of the vet but they were gentle and patient in getting his bite wound taken care of. Cost for services and pharmaceuticals seemed to be average for the area, however I would’ve liked to see more for the wellness exam/office visit, I feel the cost is not congruent with the value of the service. I had the most horrible experience of my life here! By far! I was so excited to find a new vet for my 3 English Bulldogs 2 were puppies I just got. I had spent the whole week there getting my new puppies 9 week & 10 Weeks old established there. I also have a 7 year old. My puppies need a simple deworming as well so I had to come in and out getting fecal exams. I was over charge for 6 medications when I only needed 2! Over $60 overcharge! They never called and told me about it, when I went in to get my refund (Which they rudely admitted too, and didn't even apologize) The most unprofessional & Rudest person I have ever meet was a lady manager with short blond hair. She would NOT refund my money! I told her over and over to give me my money so I could leave and NOT come back with my dogs, the POLICE were called and ONLY then did she give me my money back! She would not let me speak with anyone else there BUT her. I even asked for the owner and she mimicked and laughed at me and said "no he is busy".. This happened last week and I completely expected the owner to call and personalty apologize and he DID NOT! I could have pressed charges on the unprofessional horrible lady and I didn't. I would NEVER EVER advise anyone to go to this horrible vet! They did not care about my dogs best interest at all! They only care about stealing money from you and then be rude and ugly. I don't even know how this place is in business treating people like that. :( I also have proof of all receipts and police report. Read Less

They treat my dog like she is one of their own. :) They have an answering service for after-hours emergencies (which I really appreciate!) they are always friendly and kind in the office and on the phone, and they take the time to answer and explain every question I have, without making me feel like I am inconvenience. I've had excellent experience with the staff here and they take amazing care of my pet... Once they get to you. The reasons for my 3 stars is that their wait times (with an appointment) are outrageous. I've been taking my puppy here for vaccinations. The first visit is a wellness exam and the vaccine. We arrived about 10 minutes before our first appointment and we didn't get in to see the vet for an HOUR AND A HALF. The most annoying part was that every single person who came in during that hour and a half were taken care of almost immediately (what's the point of making an appointment?!) The second shot is done by a vet tech and we were told it would be a quick procedure. Again we arrived on time for our appointment and it took them nearly 40 minutes for us to get out. Only about 5 of which we spent with the vet tech. I don't recommend going on a day when you have things to do. Who knows how long you'll be there. Read Less

They truly care for our pets, give attention to my concerns and discuss all options, without forcing to choose. At the front desk, Ryder was friendly and attentive to help. Bijou Animal Hospital is the only place I will go now. They were the only vet that helped fix my dog after she tore open her whole side. My dog killed a skunk and it was recommended by animal control that I get her a rabies booster even though Bijou had just given her a vaccine a couple months ago. I called and was advised that I could bring her in and the only charge would be for the vaccine itself as there was no need for an exam. They saved me the $30+ office visit which for me is a lot of money. I appreciate their honest practices... Other offices might have insisted on an office visit just for the sake of making money. I run a dog rescue and have been a vet tech for a lot of years. Needless to say, I have dealt with a lot of veterinary practices in one capacity or another, on both sides of the counter. While many places treat rescue/foster animals like second class citizens, the staff at Bijou treat ALL animals extremely well. They are thorough, communicative and compassionate. I get calls in a timely manner from the veterinarian explaining their findings and the options. They are affordable, which at so many other places means they're cutting corners, but at Bijou, I have never seen any signs of them doing so. Their flexibility in getting our animals in quickly and working with the foster families is impressive. The whole staff is wonderful. Thanks for caring for so many of our babies!!! For more than 30 years, I have trusted them with my dogs and cats. They care. They speak to you in plain English. They never try to upsell unnecessary tests or prescriptions. And this is the hard part to write - if it's time to say goodbye to your dog or cat, they are clear, direct, and caring. One time, my vet (Dr. Willhoit) told us "There is no decision to be made. It's time." This took the weight of the world off our shoulders. We could focus on saying goodbye to our dog, without worrying about more tests, more drugs, or more discomfort for her. We switched from a closer Animal Hospital that quoted us almost $5,700 on a procedure they insisted was necessary to save our dog. A friend recommended we check Bijou Animal Hospital, we were able to get in within an hour, they did x-rays, saved the dog and total bill was just over $900.
