East Springs Animal Hospital

Colorado Springs, Colorado
General Info
The staff at East Springs Animal Hospital in Colorado Springs recognizes that animals interpret signals from their human companions. The clinic's pace decelerates whenever voices constrict or hands shake because achieving clinical success demands emotional tranquility within Colorado residences. The arrangement of the room elements creates an unnatural sense of stillness. The arrangement of chairs creates intentional gaps to minimize stress factors. Exam tables modify their structure to enhance both accessibility and visibility. Staff members assess caregiver breathing rate vocal pitch and eye movement before pet interaction because animals typically examine their humans for signals. The deliberate application of silence occurs. There exist situations where initiating care requires a deliberate pause to enable dogs and cats to reflect decelerated patterns before taking action. East Springs Animal Hospital delivers integrative veterinary services that encompass organ diagnostics along with pain threshold analysis and allergy identification combined with hydration status exams and energy-based wellness assessments when deemed appropriate. The schedule includes specific visit times because morning pets handle more stimuli while late-day animals require initial quiet observation. The effectiveness of tone variation emerges through lower-pitched voice interactions which enhance anxious dog responses while feline startle reflexes diminish through narrowed frequency bands. Post-visit sessions provide owners with rhythm-based care instructions that dictate gentle speaking moments, stepping away times, sun placement periods for their pets, and enclosed darkness resting intervals. These patterns support physical and emotional return to baseline. East Springs Animal Hospital connects the neural networks of pets with their owners to deliver veterinary services that maintain clinical integrity while achieving emotional harmony for families in Colorado Springs and throughout Colorado.

Great experience. Everyone was so great with my young pitbull who is very energetic... They worked well with him, put an emphasis on him being comfortable, and it was all done in no time. Routine check-up and treatment for some seasonal allergies is all it turned out to be, but they were attentive to everything I was worried about. They laid every cost and treatment out beforehand and gave me options because I was short on cash. Great place, awesome people. Going to be our regular vet now. Read Less

If you are looking for a vet hospital full of compassionate, intelligent, wonderful people who LOVE animals- this is your place!! No matter where I live I'll use Dr. Morgan as my vet! My parents said they will even drive from Monument to use him! OUR STORY: We had been going to a vet further north and were looking for a closer location. East Springs came highly recommended to us and we can't say enough good things about the people here!!! We brought our Golden Retriever in for her annual and were warmly greeted by all. In the following days my girl started developing signs of sickness and over the next 5 days we found out she had terminal cancer and tumors on her heart, liver, and spleen. Through the urgency of our situation we saw any doctor available and ended up seeing Dr. Douglas, Dr. Bush and Dr. Morgan. EACH time we called we got an appointments within hours (sometimes even minutes) and EVERY doctor treated us with such care!!! They provided us with all options and never pressured us! Everytime we visited the admin staff, vet techs and Dr.s checked in on us and would even tear up when speaking to us because they felt so bad we were going through this ( again- these sweet people had only known us for 2 weeks)! We ended up seeing Dr. Morgan for the remainder of our sweet girl's care (1.5 weeks) and literally cannot say enough good things. I was in a position to trust a man, whom I had just met, with my baby's life and he was such a God send to us! He would answer all of our calls and spoke to us with the ultimate compassion and empathy. This past Saturday we had to lay our girl to rest and Dr. Morgan was with us every step of the way, being kind, respectful, gentle, and understanding. The rest of the staff was so comforting and all promised to take the utmost care of our baby. Tonight we received a call from Dr. Morgan and he just wanted to give his condolences again to us again and answer any questions we may have after processing all of it! If a team comes together like this in the midst of crisis, I think that says A LOT! Thank you ES for treating us like family!Read Less

Felt like just a number, non personable. Went there for 7 years w two dogs. My wife called and asked for a copy of their records and was rudely told there would be a cost and was asked if we could be "deleted out of their system bc we were switching veterinarians?" before we even told them we were thinking about testing another vet out. Jen was extremely rude; a bad ending to what was otherwise a decent (albeit in personable and expensive) relationship. They were also extremely expensive, the same cost for us as the emergency vet. Therefore, I would absolutely not recommend this veterinarian practice for other pet owners. Read Less

My only complaint is that I have been 100% disabled since 2003 and for a single disabled woman with no outside help the fact that they offer no payment options will be a huge factor in if we can return. Update: The surgical site area did get infected. Also, the doc had said an e collar wouldn't be necessary, but my dog was found licking his infected surgical site today. An e collar would have prevented that. The dog was taken back to East Springs and prescribed $100+ worth of antibiotics and pain killers. I feel completely ripped off. My dog was not handled in a safe way while in East Springs's care. These people are not currently competent. I won't take my dog back. Original review: While my dog was in their care he sustained unexplained injuries - wounds to one of his front legs. The injuries were missed by the staff after three attempts to clean him up (first from blood and twice from poo). The wounds were bandaged only after I pointed them out. I hope the wounds were cleaned prior to bandaging. Background: I brought my dog in today for teeth cleaning and the removal of two co-located masses. It was expensive, almost $1,000. I did not go for the "minimum." The doc told me everything went fine. The tech told me my dog had pulled out his IV, had sprayed blood everywhere, and was cleaned up from that. So clearly the doc is oblivious. When my dog was returned to me he smelled like he had rolled in poo. The tech said she had already tried to clean him up. She was going to try again. My dog was again returned to me, still smelling like poo. I then noticed fresh wounds on a front leg that had nothing to do with his IV, teeth, or the masses that were removed from his chest. I asked how the wounds occurred. No one there had any idea. They said the fresh wounds were like from rug burn, but one was clearly too deep for something like rug burn to have caused it. I asked for the wounds to be cleaned and dressed. The staff's attention to detail and inability to clean an animal (took me about three minutes with a sponge and bucket) makes me question the quality and safety of work being performed. I have a feeling my dog will get an infection from either the wounds or the surgery. I do not feel I received good value for my money. Past experiences were much better. I will likely go elsewhere next time I need to seek treatment for my dog.Read Less

We have been taking our 3 dogs and cat to East Springs Animal Hospital for years and have had nothing but wonderful experiences with all of the doctors and vet techs we've encountered. We know that our fur babies are getting the best care we can give them by taking them here. In February 2016 Dudley, my 16 year old Cockapoo crossed the rainbow bridge of natural causes. I called East Springs to let them know of his passing as I had a check-up appointment scheduled for later in the week. They apologized for our loss, recommended where I could take him to have him cremated and sent me a wonderful sympathy card that was signed by all of the staff. That meant the world to me! It shows that they really do care not only about the patients they treat but also about the pet parents. Thank you East Springs! Read Less

We had come across East Springs Animal Hospital when our dog freckles became deathly ill, our current vet said we could come in for a emergency but might have to wait 3 hours. We love our girl and i felt we could not sacrifice anymore time than needed. We called East Springs and they promptly brought her in and made time to check her out. The very wonderful vet that saw us was Dr. Goetsch, and vet tech Serra. She worked hard with us to determine that freckles has a auto immune disorder. After some time Dr Goetsch notified us she was relocating, it broke our hearts but I respect her greatly for letting us know. Then Dr Abby MacDonald took over Freckles care and she is AMAZING, it's like she was there since day one. Freckles is doing so well now and i know it's because of the great care that Dr Mac, Serra, and all the staff of East Springs provides to the animals, and their human parents. Unfortunately our first dog Miller has been diagnosed with cancer, lymphoma at the age of 6, it's hard to hold back the tears knowing that our fur baby is terminally ill and all of our lives are going to change forever during treatment, but it is a re assuring feeling knowing that he is under Dr MacDonalds care.

Only after 3 months do I feel fine talking about this. We brought our dog in to get a simple surgical procedure done, spading. She was healthy and happy before we took her in. The doctors brought her out of surgery and called us letting us know she came out of it fine and was healthy. Under the proper care she should of survived, however after two hours we received a call from them again and they said our dog has passed away, apparently due to bleeding out. No one in two hours checked on our dog, and still In the end charged us $1800, 1800 for the death of my baby. I recommend you find a new vet.Read Less

This vet was recommended to me when I first arrived to Colorado Springs. My dog had broken a tooth and it was infected. The hospital charged us for x-rays and then did surgery. The hole kept reopening and became infected. 3 surgeries later and another x-ray, they discovered they did not remove all of the bone, which is why the hole kept reopeneing. We spent almost $2 G at this vet and another vet had to correct the issue. The staff is rude and holds your dog hostage until you are finished paying.
