After adopting two bonded pair puppies from another state, I wanted them to have the best in veterinary medical care, so I called Fillmore Veterinarian Hospital and was immediately scheduled with Dr. Cor. Upon arrival with Peanut and Pepper, I was greeted by a welcoming staff who helped me get both puppies out of my car and into an exam room where Dr. Cor was waiting to meet them. The staff handled Peanut and Pepper with love and were attentive in providing what they needed. I highly recommend Dr. Cor and his staff and thank them not only for welcoming me back to their practice however, providing my family loved ones the best in veterinarian care. They have always responded quickly to my phone calls and got me in soon with my pet. They care for my pets as if they were their own! I trust them completely! If you want to have peace of mind when you take your pet to a veterinarian this is the place to go. We've gone to other veterinarians and I've never seen such money hungry people. One veterinarian on Garden of the Gods next to Wells and Fargo was to extract one of our dogs teeth but wanted to take them all out which I found was unacceptable . When we took our dog to the one on Fillmore they were friendly as can be courteous and made you feel at ease being there. We met the veterinarian as friendly as can be informed us looking over his records what our dog needed and what he didn't need and save us money as well. Our dog who is very close to us showed no fear and was very relaxed in the arms of the veterinarian which relieved us as well . I highly recommend this veterinarian if you love your animal .

Great facility with knowledgeable staff. We took one of our dogs here from puppy all the way through having to put her down and they were there for us the whole way. We also take our new puppy there now because they are so great! The vets at this smaller clinic also seem to know both pets and owners on a more personal level than bigger chain vets, which allows them to care for your pet and notice changes that happen. Wouldn't take our pets anywhere else!

My cat had to have dental surgery. We were first quoted $1000 minimum by a big box chain veterinary clinic. After my parents took their dogs for their shots at Fillmore, they fell in love with the staff and the way their pets were treated. Without my knowledge, they scheduled my cat's surgery! I, too, love the staff and the way my cat was gently treated. After having all but 3 of his teeth pulled (due to an autoimmune disease), my cat came home and within a week was back to himself again. After another week, we have seen vast improvements in him. He no longer seems to have the pain in his mouth that plagued him for so long, and it is all thanks to Fillmore! Oh, and they charged us less than half of what the other place said. Fillmore is a superb place to bring your fur babies. I am positive I will be a lifelong devotee. I definitely recommend this place for all of your pet's needs.

I just recently lost my 10 year old baby chihuahua/minpin Romeo to a vicious dog attack. Needless to say, I was quite distraught when I came in with him because I was sure he was gone, but needed verification. This office and their staff helped me through the most difficult time of my life! They were extremely caring, understanding, and let me say goodbye to my baby as long as I needed. They also were very caring and gentle with returning Romeo's ashes and paw print back to me. I will be forever grateful for the consideration they showed me. For having only met them that day, they made me and my baby feel like family. Thank you and God Bless you for your love and kindness!

Everyone at Fillmore Vet is a God send, especially Dr. Cor. He treated our precious doxie Walter for some bad teeth and made feel so much better! I am not only amazed by his compassion, but I am equally amazed at the respect he gives both your beloved pet and you. I received multiple follow up calls to check on Walter, both from the assistants and Dr. Cor. I wish I would have become a patient here years ago. Needless to say I will never go anywhere else with any of my fur babies! We appreciate the value, the care, compassion, respect and love we received from Fillmore Vet. Dr. Cor is one of those individuals who is still genuinely passionate about his field--a rare quality to have these days but so greatly appreciated! I cannot say a bad word about these wonderful professionals at Fillmore Vet. Thank you all for everything!

I am very frustrated with this office. I was referred to this office as a location that took snakes, I made my appointment and waited the few days for them to see my sick snake. I packed up my sick snake properly for the snowy day (which is not ideal python weather) and got to the office 20 minutes prior to my appointment time to be told the reptile vet couldn't see us because he had been out sick for 2 days. No call, no voicemail...nothing. I understand canceling an appointment but I don't understand not notifying your customers of a canceled appointment. It's NOT ok.

The entire staff at Fillmore Vet are helpful and friendly. My dog has to go in once a month for an injection and they are always accommodating. Not to mention, one of the vet techs absolutely loves my dog! Every time I take him in she is there to spoil him. Now when I take him he feels like he is going to see his friend, not to get injected. I highly recommend this veterinarian.

We recently had to put our beloved dog down, and the entire staff was very sensitive to us throughout that process. We really appreciate the time and energy they put in to us and each of our pets. I started going to FVH in 1975 when Dr Watts was our vet. Dr Cor join shorty after and I am so thankful to him and his staff. He has seen us through the good times and the oh so sad times with compassion and professional knowledge. I have recommended FVH to friends and family and all have been pleased. As with any place of business there is turnover with the staff, but I feel Dr Cor and his associate vets have instilled a place where I feel confident concerning our "kids" They are the gold standard. (And no, I am not related to them) They are simply the best.

In fact, we went here when it was still an Italian restaurant.Dr. Cor has helped us with medical issues with all of our dogs and currently ministers to Sassy, (pictured), Mother-in-law-unit's Fox Terrier and daughter's teacup poodle.Decades ago Dr. Cor mentored one of my daughters and she followed him for a day. My family has been using Fillmore Vet (Dr. Cor Vanderwel) for decades. I have a very little dog (3.5 lbs.) with some health conditions. They have always delivered top care. Things that I really like about Fillmore Vet:1) They get that my pets are family and they are very loving towards them and get that when something is of a concern it truly matters to me.2) Always take the time to fully explain any conditions my dog has or we are watching for...3) Very punctual and they get you into your own room quickly which minimizes stress from my dog seeing other animals.4) Easy to make appointments especially in the afternoons after work or Saturdays.5) Call and give you updates as a surgery is progressing and Dr. Cor always leaves detailed messages about lab results and further plans of care.Tips: 1) If you need Heartworm medicine they will even mail the rebate for you so you get free money in the mail!2) They do cater to reptiles too. (Not sure why people would buy such a pet, but they do care for them.) I also appreciate that I have never seen said reptiles in their office, as I am not a fan. They really do a great job of keeping the animals separate from each other.

We have lived in several states, and have always had companion animals that we regard as our "fur-babies". We have been taking our pets to Dr. Cor since he started with the practice in '83. Years ago.we were out of town & had left our little dog with our neighbors - she developed a cold, so we called Cor & told him about it. He checked in with our neighbors, and even stopped by! They were very impressed with his caring - said not even their pediatrician was as caring. Then we had another dog with us at our winter home, & when she became ill, we took her to a vet there. After a number of tests (that cost LOTS), we were told that her illness was due to the fact that she was a spayed older female (she was 5 1/2). We drove back to CO the next day with the lab tests to show Cor what had been done. He took one look at the tests and was able to tell that she had cancer. He even came to our house when it was finally time to say goodbye. Our next pup was diagnosed with diabetes. She had to spend a lot of time at their hospital, and everyone there was so kind & loving, she would whimper in the car if I went in without her! Irene & the other techs there spoil both us and our babies. I am so confident with their knowledge, caring, and professionalism that I call them for advice even after our AZ vets (who are also very good) take care of them. Wish I could find a doctor for us that cared as much as Dr, Cor!

I don't think the negative reviews posted below are really for this Veterinary Hospital. I have been a client here for close to 15 years and have always been welcomed with open arms, smiling faces, and terrific attitudes by EVERYONE. I am nobody special except a long-time client. Dr. Cor VanderWel has had some secondary Veterinarians come and go over the years, but he has remained consistent with his compassion for both the animals and the humans. I would not trust my pets to anyone else, even after moving out-of-state and returning after 4 years. My hubby asked me to consider changing to a vet closer to home, but I refuse to do so! Dr. Cor forever!

After adopting two bonded pair puppies from another state, I wanted them to have the best in veterinary medical care, so I called Fillmore Veterinarian Hospital and was immediately scheduled with Dr. Cor. Upon arrival with Peanut and Pepper, I was greeted by a welcoming staff who helped me get both puppies out of my car and into an exam room where Dr. Cor was waiting to meet them. The staff handled Peanut and Pepper with love and were attentive in providing what they needed. I highly recommend Dr. Cor and his staff and thank them not only for welcoming me back to their practice however, providing my family loved ones the best in veterinarian care. If you want to have peace of mind when you take your pet to a veterinarian this is the place to go. We've gone to other veterinarians and I've never seen such money hungry people. One veterinarian on Garden of the Gods next to Wells and Fargo was to extract one of our dogs teeth but wanted to take them all out which I found was unacceptable . When we took our dog to the one on Fillmore they were friendly as can be courteous and made you feel at ease being there. We met the veterinarian as friendly as can be informed us looking over his records what our dog needed and what he didn't need and save us money as well. Our dog who is very close to us showed no fear and was very relaxed in the arms of the veterinarian which relieved us as well . I highly recommend this veterinarian if you love your animal .

Great facility with knowledgeable staff. We took one of our dogs here from puppy all the way through having to put her down and they were there for us the whole way. We also take our new puppy there now because they are so great! The vets at this smaller clinic also seem to know both pets and owners on a more personal level than bigger chain vets, which allows them to care for your pet and notice changes that happen. Wouldn't take our pets anywhere else!

My cat had to have dental surgery. We were first quoted $1000 minimum by a big box chain veterinary clinic. After my parents took their dogs for their shots at Fillmore, they fell in love with the staff and the way their pets were treated. Without my knowledge, they scheduled my cat's surgery! I, too, love the staff and the way my cat was gently treated. After having all but 3 of his teeth pulled (due to an autoimmune disease), my cat came home and within a week was back to himself again. After another week, we have seen vast improvements in him. He no longer seems to have the pain in his mouth that plagued him for so long, and it is all thanks to Fillmore! Oh, and they charged us less than half of what the other place said. Fillmore is a superb place to bring your fur babies. I am positive I will be a lifelong devotee. I definitely recommend this place for all of your pet's needs.

I just recently lost my 10 year old baby chihuahua/minpin Romeo to a vicious dog attack. Needless to say, I was quite distraught when I came in with him because I was sure he was gone, but needed verification. This office and their staff helped me through the most difficult time of my life! They were extremely caring, understanding, and let me say goodbye to my baby as long as I needed. They also were very caring and gentle with returning Romeo's ashes and paw print back to me. I will be forever grateful for the consideration they showed me. Everyone at Fillmore Vet is a God send, especially Dr. Cor. He treated our precious doxie Walter for some bad teeth and made feel so much better! I am not only amazed by his compassion, but I am equally amazed at the respect he gives both your beloved pet and you. I received multiple follow up calls to check on Walter, both from the assistants and Dr. Cor. I wish I would have become a patient here years ago. Needless to say I will never go anywhere else with any of my fur babies! We appreciate the value, the care, compassion, respect and love we received from Fillmore Vet. Dr. Cor is one of those individuals who is still genuinely passionate about his field--a rare quality to have these days but so greatly appreciated! I am very frustrated with this office. I was referred to this office as a location that took snakes, I made my appointment and waited the few days for them to see my sick snake. I packed up my sick snake properly for the snowy day (which is not ideal python weather) and got to the office 20 minutes prior to my appointment time to be told the reptile vet couldn't see us because he had been out sick for 2 days. No call, no voicemail...nothing. I understand canceling an appointment but I don't understand not notifying your customers of a canceled appointment. It's NOT ok.

Not to mention, one of the vet techs absolutely loves my dog! Every time I take him in she is there to spoil him. Now when I take him he feels like he is going to see his friend, not to get injected. He has seen us through the good times and the oh so sad times with compassion and professional knowledge. I have recommended FVH to friends and family and all have been pleased. As with any place of business there is turnover with the staff, but I feel Dr Cor and his associate vets have instilled a place where I feel confident concerning our "kids" They are the gold standard. In fact, we went here when it was still an Italian restaurant.Dr. Cor has helped us with medical issues with all of our dogs and currently ministers to Sassy, (pictured), Mother-in-law-unit's Fox Terrier and daughter's teacup poodle.Decades ago Dr. Cor mentored one of my daughters and she followed him for a day. My family has been using Fillmore Vet (Dr. Cor Vanderwel) for decades. I have a very little dog (3.5 lbs.) with some health conditions. They have always delivered top care. Things that I really like about Fillmore Vet:1) They get that my pets are family and they are very loving towards them and get that when something is of a concern it truly matters to me.2) Always take the time to fully explain any conditions my dog has or we are watching for...3) Very punctual and they get you into your own room quickly which minimizes stress from my dog seeing other animals.4) Easy to make appointments especially in the afternoons after work or Saturdays.5) Call and give you updates as a surgery is progressing and Dr. Cor always leaves detailed messages about lab results and further plans of care.Tips: 1) If you need Heartworm medicine they will even mail the rebate for you so you get free money in the mail!2) They do cater to reptiles too. (Not sure why people would buy such a pet, but they do care for them.) I also appreciate that I have never seen said reptiles in their office, as I am not a fan. They really do a great job of keeping the animals separate from each other.

We have lived in several states, and have always had companion animals that we regard as our "fur-babies". We have been taking our pets to Dr. Cor since he started with the practice in '83. Years ago.we were out of town & had left our little dog with our neighbors - she developed a cold, so we called Cor & told him about it. He checked in with our neighbors, and even stopped by! They were very impressed with his caring - said not even their pediatrician was as caring. Then we had another dog with us at our winter home, & when she became ill, we took her to a vet there. After a number of tests (that cost LOTS), we were told that her illness was due to the fact that she was a spayed older female (she was 5 1/2). We drove back to CO the next day with the lab tests to show Cor what had been done. He took one look at the tests and was able to tell that she had cancer. He even came to our house when it was finally time to say goodbye. Our next pup was diagnosed with diabetes. She had to spend a lot of time at their hospital, and everyone there was so kind & loving, she would whimper in the car if I went in without her! Irene & the other techs there spoil both us and our babies. I am so confident with their knowledge, caring, and professionalism that I call them for advice even after our AZ vets (who are also very good) take care of them. Wish I could find a doctor for us that cared as much as Dr, Cor!

I don't think the negative reviews posted below are really for this Veterinary Hospital. I have been a client here for close to 15 years and have always been welcomed with open arms, smiling faces, and terrific attitudes by EVERYONE. I am nobody special except a long-time client. Dr. Cor VanderWel has had some secondary Veterinarians come and go over the years, but he has remained consistent with his compassion for both the animals and the humans. I would not trust my pets to anyone else, even after moving out-of-state and returning after 4 years. My hubby asked me to consider changing to a vet closer to home, but I refuse to do so! Dr. Cor forever!
