These people are not trying to impress with their building or decorating but if you want genuine care for your beast, they are some of the best I've come across. Our doctor was a woman with dark, bobbed hair and a friendly way about her. Forgot her name but she was the only vet I've been to who really listened to me since I've had Amos (10 years). Staff at front desk were very nice in a way that didn't seem rehearsed or phony. They called Amos "handsome," which was clearly something they say regularly, but they actually looked at him when they said it, and it was true. I simply thanked them on his behalf. It seemed sweet in this case. Amos had two types of ear infection and is visibly feeling much better and back to his happy self after just a few days. Thorough exam, lab work to diagnose, ear flush and medicine for $102. I have paid more than that for little more than a weak exam and a feeling of being robbed when I paid. Good doctor, pleasant staff and real help for my pup, at really reasonable prices. Good job! Read Less

My complaint isn't with Dr. Rachael and Dr. Devin Fitzgerald, but with their staff who may be costing them business because it cost them ours and we have 6 animals. It started with 2 phone calls on 25 May 2017 and a simple request to have a vet give us a call back before scheduling an appointment€. but evidently I needed Latrice and Alex's approval first. I guess the gate keepers who are NOT vets, are in charge during the Fitzgerald€s absence and decided protocol instead of the vet present. Latrice and Alex seemed incredibly smug, rude and flippant during these 2 calls and preferred to argue, lecture and talk over us instead of listening. We simply asked to have a vet on staff return our call because the next available appointment was on a weekday and we needed one on Friday or Saturday which was in 8 to 9 days and we wanted a TEMP refill. Nothing medical, just the same LOW DOSE Prozac to take the edge off our cat whose anxiety sometimes makes our smaller cat nervous. We had weened him off Prozac previously, but he was acting up again. Latrice and Alex literally refused to relay the message because; € the vet doesn't return calls unless they see the animal first and takes detailed notes, so we have to wait until the appointment.€ They kept on and refused to understand the situation. Why do they need detailed notes and an appointment before a vet can return our call over something simple they had previously treated? They have the medical records and we had been with Fountain Valley Animal Hospital on Main St. for years. Fortunately, we found a new vet that same day who DOES return calls WITHOUT staff permission and our cats are in harmony again. We would rather travel a few extra miles than put up with that noise. They were even smug about picking up medical records, which is another 5 days or more€but we have copies at home. This wasn't the first time and no need for attitude, but Clearly Latrice and Alex seem unprofessionally negative. However, we will miss the Fitzgerald€s.... but simply had enough of their indifference. Read Less

Honestly I would recommend to just stay away. The one receptionist was so rude and hung up on me when my dog was having a severe reaction to the medication this vet put him on. The only thing they did was give him a shot of cerenia and gave him a camel hump to get him rehydrated. I ended up spending almost $1000 in lab work and xrays only to find out they put him on medication that made him so sick of I wasn't watching him, he would have died. I have gone here for years for my 2 dogs. Mostly routine and minor issues that they have been fantastic about. What I am impressed with now is recently my dog has been losing her vision and was given a diagnosis by an opthamologist that I'm not 100% sure about or willing to just let be. I did my own research and found some informaiton, talked to several other veterinarians around the country, compiled all their information and passed it along to Dr. Rachael who not only took the time to do her own research on the topic, but also took the time to talk to me about everything. She's following up with a couple of specific doctors to help me help my dog. I couldnt ask for anything more. Read Less

I had a very good experience when I first brought my dog. I have a chihuahua, and two shiba Inu's. The staff is very friendly! I can call them and I'm always greeted by someone who's cheerful and knowledgeable about any questions I may have. The veterinarians provided me with so many resources to provide some great care at home if I ever had a problem. My chihuahua had had a parasite issue, she's done really well since she got her deworm shot. My female shiba was pregnant and they taught me how to care for a pregnant dog. The sire, my male shiba hasn't encountered any problems yet. Overall , I've had a great experience with Fountain Valley Animal Hospital and I would definitely recommend to anyone who wants to be treated kindly.Read Less

I went to the clinic on Monday, 4th of May, 2015 and my dog Bean was seen by Dr. Rachael. Bean was diagnosed by the Dr. with Congestive Heart Failure after taking x-rays. The doctor assured me that with medication, Bean had another quality year of life left! Encourage by her statement, I purchase 1 month supply of 3 different medications! No additional testing was recommended at that time!4 days later me dog was dead!! Now she is saying that I declined additional testing, that was needed and she was very concerned with Bean's condition! Dr. Rachael failed to give me any info on any symptoms to look out for, or that Bean could have had any other illness, that would kill her so soon! Nor did she give me any indication that she was concerned about Bean's condition! There is something wrong, when a Doctor tells you, your pet has another year of life and then dies 4 days later!

Maybe use them for shots but honestly I'd just stay away. Read Less

And then put the blame on you! Read Less
