Dr Scott and her staff are absolutely amazing! I bring my dog and cat there and from the moment we walk in to the moment we walk out we are always greeted and treated with compassion. You can tell that each and every person there loves animals and want what is best for you and your pet. I usually deal with Stephanie and Erika as assistant/front desk person, and they are always both so nice and loving with my pets. Dr Scott is awesome about explaining what they are doing , especially if they have to take your pet in the back when you aren't going with them. This place is terrible and the doctor is extremely ignorant. We tried for a year to make this our dog's place and it just didn't work out. From the first visit when our lab was just a puppy, they placed a slip collar and dragged him out of the room choking him while he cried. It's was heartbreaking. After a few visits we tried to give this place the benefit of the doubt that they knew what they were doing. Things just got worse. They are very rough with animals and do not respect owners wishes on how to treat their pet. The doctor argues about everything you can possibly throw at her thinking she knows best for your dog. She talks down to customers and is extremely rude. I cannot believe we subjected our poor dog to this place for over a year! They refused to work with us when we suggested using a normal leash with a metal hook. I understand their argument about the doctors safety but our dog is not aggressive whatsoever. When they brought in the slip collar he immediately hid and began shaking. When they approached him he growled at the LEASH. They threatened to muzzle him and kick us out of the room to give him vaccinations. After that we were done. We do not recommend this place to anyone who actually cares about their dog. They charge way to much!!  Terrible!  Same on this "hospital".  $48 per mom and puppy? And that's just to look at them! Ask for a price break (after already spending 1,000 in prenatal care) and they treat you like your dumb for asking. Read Less

Dr Scott was my vet in Bernallilo, NM. We loved her so much that when she moved to Belen, NM we drove the extra miles anyway. She is beyond the best ... she shares spirit with humans and animals alike. professional. clean.  super friendly.  love this place.  dr. scott and staff ensure you receive outstanding attention and are treated like family.  i don't live close by but make the drive just to get the best care for my dog and two cats.i schedule vaccinations, neutering, checkups, medications, and dental work through northgate.  haven't needed it yet but may consider acupuncture for my furry children (dr. scott is certified).  they deserve the best so i bring them here. I enjoy taking our dog, Ranger, to the Northgate Animal Hospital because they are ALWAYS happy to see us, kind, efficient, and so good with Ranger. This is the best vet clinic I have EVER found ANYWHERE. The front desk staff is ALWAYS kind and patient. The waiting area has toys for children making it family friendly. The doctors are both exceptional. They are incredible at making pets feel welcome and easing their nerves (with the help of their wonderful technicians). They are also very knowledgeable and don't try to sell you unnecessary procedures or products. I also want to add that they are very reasonable in cost. They bundle vaccines to bring them to you at a lower cost. And they honor their servicemen and their families by offering a military discount. And even if they didn't I'd bring my dogs back. I have never had such a good feeling about an animal hospital before this. Read Less

Like most vet clinics, I often see in the reviews that while the doctors were great and such the front office is horrible. Well that's NOT the case here @ Northgate Animal Hospital. First, no I do not work there. However, this is where I bring my dog and wanted others to know what I feel about this place. The 5 stars given to them by all means they deserve it. The main person who will be greeting you is Angie. Angie is not only very knowledgeable but can multi-tasked as well =) She has the patience and understanding of pet owners all around. The doctors, Dr. Casmer and Dr. Carlson, both female I might add are great at there job and they too are caring about animals. I will be moving soon and even though this office might be a little further from our new house, I will still continue to go and get all my pet's needs here. FYI They have the best package plan when it comes to your pet's needs, they try to save you money by combining annual shots and other things. They may be up north but they have reasonable, affordable prices. I'm saving over 60.00 going to this clinic, compared to the one on the westside where I'll be moving to! This is a great animal hospital for the area around my house.  The employees at this facility are some of the nicest people I've meet.  I have a dog and when I need to take him in- whether it's shots needing updated, annual physical, or a dental cleaning- everyone here is informative, super friendly and kind enough to put any worries or concerns to rest for me.  Much better than the generic PetSmart facility!
