New to the area, I had to make a tough decision to euthanize my elderly cat. After calling around town, OFV was one of the few vets that had a live person answer the phone and show sincere compassion for my situation. The whole staff was super on a day I was at my tearful worst. Highly recommend.

A few years back I brought my cat in for signs of lethargy and she wasn't eating or drinking. She was an indoor cat, I never let her out for her own safety. The vet insisted that my cat be tested for ...
A few years back I brought my cat in for signs of lethargy and she wasn't eating or drinking. She was an indoor cat, I never let her out for her own safety. The vet insisted that my cat be tested for feline leukemia and feline aids, she said thats what she thought was wrong with her... after these tests were done and I would have to pay $50 or more for each, she mentions she can tell by the skin of the cat that is dying of kidney failure and needs euthanized.
OK SO WHY DID I PAY FOR THESE UNNECCESARY tests, that indoor cats rarely ever have because they dont come in contact with outdoor cats!? I feel so stupid letting this vet take my money from me, she didnt even care about my poor baby. After they ran tests on the kidneys, the one had completely gone and the other by 75%. I had to put her down, AND I had to pay an extra $100 for the tests she knew damn well were unnecessary. Today marks 2 years without my baby and I am finally writing this review.

She was absolutely correct cause two days into the treatment and he is definitely better!! The cost was very reasonable!! Very clean and friendly staff as well!'

I have nothing but good things to say about Our Family Vet. Doctor Arlene Amato and her staff are absolutely wonderful! She is amazing with all types of animals, but has especially been wonderful with my rescue dog, who is very fearful/reactive and doesn't do well with being handled: she can be a potential safety risk if not approached correctly, but Arlene Amato has gone above and beyond to gain her trust and ensure the safety and comfort of my dog each time we set foot into their office. We have never had a bad experience here, and Arlene always focuses on the well being of my dog above all else, constantly striving to make each vet visit the best visit possible for both of us. The quality of care here is outstanding, and I would not take my pets anywhere else.

I brought my pup in to have a check up before her spay. I brought her home and she started acting really funny so I immediately called and asked if I could bring her back in. Turns out it was just some nausea from the car ride. Dr. Amato was so understanding and checked her out just in case at no charge! I could never ask for a better vet! All of the staff is so caring and nice. I will always bring my pups here and know that they are getting the best care! You guys rock!

I felt that she was genuinely caring and she took the time to listen... and to get a good look at him. Seriously, if anyone needs a great vet for your pets...I don't think you can do any better! She was very kind, gentle, thourough and informative... and she took excellent care of this little guy and I am very grateful. Her rates are extremely reasonable and its nice to know that you can get quality pet care without selling a kidney for it. I would highly recommend her to anyone and everyone. She will be (Our family vet) now for life. What a blessing to have found her!

Really disappointed by this clinic. I was told I couldn't receive my dogs medication because the "lab" that produces it, wanted test done. In order to get her meds I needed to have hundreds of dollars...

Took my dog in for a checkup because I found some lumps. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. Answered all my questions. Decided to have the lumps removed surgically again they were great. Went back in 2 weeks for a check up and have the stitches removed and it was like they didn't have or want to give me the time of day. Basically walked in, they took us to a room. Then came and took our dog back to have the stitches removed. Brought him back and when I asked about the pathology report, the vet tech said oh yes, the Dr. will be in here to go over the results and explain them to you. WRONG instead the tech comes back hands me the report and tells me I can read it, it explains everything in the report. My sweet loving dog has cancer and they couldn't take 5 minutes out of their day to explain what was in the report. I asked questions but the tech gave me more "I don't know" responses than answers. Truly disappointed. What if this was someone in their family..I think they need to be more informative and considerate in cases like this.

I'm surprised by the other review. We bring in our rabbits and small animals and Dr. Amato is fantastic with them. She always remembers us and explains exactly what she wants to do with a price sheet before hand. When our gerbil lost a few fingers in an accident and we brought her in, since there was other the vet could do, they didn't charge us for anything. She really does care about our bunnies and there are very few vets I would trust to actually know what is wrong with a fairly uncommon pet.

My dogs are my children i look for only the best for them... Yes this vet gives military discount but they are over priced and sometimes you could be sitting in the room with your animal for 45 minutes with out even being seen i do not recommend at all

The staff is extremely friendly from the receptionists all the way up to the veterinarian. Very attentive and knowledgable, never feel rushed and very honest. Our dog needed to come in for an infection in his mouth because he had been bitten by another dog, and the staff had us in the next day right away and did a great job taking care of him. They also offer a puppy plan that is a great deal to save money and ensure the health of your puppy. Everything is always clean and well kept. Definitely recommend this place

Really disappointed by this clinic. I was told I couldn't receive my dogs medication because the "lab" that produces it, wanted test done. In order to get her meds I needed to have hundreds of dollars...
Really disappointed by this clinic. I was told I couldn't receive my dogs medication because the "lab" that produces it, wanted test done. In order to get her meds I needed to have hundreds of dollars worth of test done; some that we've already done multiple times. Definitely not trust worthy.

Kind and compassionate care for your furry family members. We've been bringing our fur babies for 10+ years and wouldn't take them to anyone else.

Took my dog in for a checkup because I found some lumps. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. Answered all my questions. Decided to have the lumps removed surgically again they were great. Went back in 2 weeks for a check up and have the stitches removed and it was like they didn't have or want to give me the time of day. Basically walked in, they took us to a room. Then came and took our dog back to have the stitches removed. Brought him back and when I asked about the pathology report, the vet tech said oh yes, the Dr. will be in here to go over the results and explain them to you. WRONG instead the tech comes back hands me the report and tells me I can read it, it explains everything in the report. My sweet loving dog has cancer and they couldn't take 5 minutes out of their day to explain what was in the report. I asked questions but the tech gave me more "I don't know" responses than answers. Truly disappointed. What if this was someone in their family..I think they need to be more informative and considerate in cases like this.

I can't say enough good things about Dr Amato and her staff. They are thorough, kind, and genuinely care. It's been a heck of year for me and vets, with 2 dogs having major medical problems within weeks of each other. I am so grateful to have a vet that I trust and is affordable. It makes all the difference in the world!

Dr. Amato is a wonderful veterinarian. We have used her for many years to take care of our cats. She is very thorough and always takes the time to explain to me what is going on with my tabby. In addition, her staff is very friendly and when I have an appointment I rarely, if ever, wait to see the doctor. I would recommend Dr. Amato without reservation to anyone who needs excellent care for their pets.

I'm surprised by the other review. We bring in our rabbits and small animals and Dr. Amato is fantastic with them. She always remembers us and explains exactly what she wants to do with a price sheet before hand. When our gerbil lost a few fingers in an accident and we brought her in, since there was other the vet could do, they didn't charge us for anything. She really does care about our bunnies and there are very few vets I would trust to actually know what is wrong with a fairly uncommon pet.

I went to this vet for my 3 dogs for about 6 months at first they were pretty good i thought the vet actually cared but as i had to took them more and more it seems as though the vet was only out for the money. My dogs are my children i look for only the best for them... Yes this vet gives military discount but they are over priced and sometimes you could be sitting in the room with your animal for 45 minutes with out even being seen i do not recommend at all

The staff is extremely friendly from the receptionists all the way up to the veterinarian. Very attentive and knowledgable, never feel rushed and very honest. Our dog needed to come in for an infection in his mouth because he had been bitten by another dog, and the staff had us in the next day right away and did a great job taking care of him. They also offer a puppy plan that is a great deal to save money and ensure the health of your puppy. Everything is always clean and well kept. Definitely recommend this place

The Dr is wonderful and very compassionate, our dog was gravely ill and she took the time to speak with my mom by phone for over 20 minutes before we made an appt. We never felt pressured about anything.
Been to other vets who were either cold or scared us to death with all kinds of illnesses which were not true.

I took in my dog for a healthy pet check-up. The veterinarian was knowledgeable, kind, and helpful. The office was clean and well kept. Thus far my experiences with them have all been positive.
