This was one of the most uncomfortable, weird, & stressful situations I’ve had to deal with in my life. I would not recommend this veterinarian (Dr. Cahill), & especially not his daughter (Misty) who works with him. If I could do this situation over, I would absolutely go with another company, even if Affordable House Calls told me they would do it for free. Any tiny bit of money I might have saved for going with this company was not worth the constant uncomfortable feeling I had the entire time of dealing with them. I had my 15 ½ year old black lab euthanized because of several health issues. Pros - I rescheduled twice. No fee. I was not ready to say goodbye to my best friend yet. My dog passed peacefully. Called 3 hours after asking for some of my dog's hair to be cut. This was done for free. Cons - Showed up over 2 hours after scheduled window. I was given a call minutes before scheduled window ended. This made them arrive after 12am. Arrived in older model truck (and topper) that wasn't in the best shape aesthetically. It wasn't what I was expecting & seemed rather unprofessional. The veterinarian wasn’t comforting & didn’t reassure us that we were doing the right thing. The veterinarian’s daughter walked in & started making comments about our cat and how angry he looked & his aura. She started mentioning how she is an animal trainer. Then she continued to push her “training business” the entire time they were there. The daughter also just gave us this very uneasy vibe & looked very unprofessional. There was something not right about her & the veterinarian. My partner & I couldn’t quite figure it out, but we had that feeling in the pit of our stomach that something was off. The vet gave the first shot (morphine) & wasn’t careful. My dog jumped up from laying down & was very alarmed. Morphine was kicking in and as I was holding my dog in my arms for the last time, the veterinarian’s daughter started trying to make conversation with me. I still can’t believe she tried to talk to me in those moments. Also – they just stood there. They didn’t leave & go into the neighboring room or step outside for a minute. We had zero privacy. The vet does NOT use an IV catheter for the final shot. Used a needle without shaving the fur. This is EXTREMELY important for anyone reading this to know as it can be extremely painful to your pet if the vein is missed. Gave us no privacy after my dog stopped breathing. My partner and I had no time alone with our dog to say our final goodbyes. It was very awkward. You pay afterwards. If you pay with a credit card they will write your card number down. I canceled my card because I didn’t feel my number was still safe. They knowingly overcharged me on my dog’s weight which ended up being an extra $65. Later I brought this up to the vet & his daughter & they did not care nor wish to refund my money. I have proof from the crematory. When my dog’s body was taken to their truck there was junk & tools piled from side to side & to the top, it looked like a handyman’s truck would. There was no place for my dog and they had to clear a spot. This made us feel incredibly uneasy and question even more that feeling we had in our stomach that something was just off with these two. I was overcharged another $23.40. I was told this was a credit card processing fee. I asked for a refund because that was not told to me ahead of time. The vet argued with me for a bit and then I brought up how they overcharged me for my dog’s weight. As soon as I brought that up, the vet agreed to refund me the $23.40. They knew exactly what they were doing when they overcharged me for my dog’s weight. Misty, his daughter, just had to call me and put her two cents in before issuing the refund. She told me “not to feel guilty” but that they should have really charged me more for certain things. I told her they already scammed me on my dog’s weight and that she should be refunding me for that as well. I had to threaten to have my credit card cancel the entire charge for her to refund $23.40. I was introduced to Doc Cahill 5 years ago by my then dog groomer. I have been grateful to her ever since. She picked up on the fact that Maggie had some kind of allergy situation going on. After thinking it over for a few days I decided to contact Dr. Cahill. Boy am I glad I did! Maggie had multiple allergies plus a bad front shoulder and back issues, none of which our previous vet knew anything about. He worked tirelessly to help Maggie get better. We figured out the correct diet for her to be eating, got her a chiropractor to help with the back and shoulder issue, and put her on the correct medications to keep her on an even keel. He told me up front that Maggie probably wouldn't live to be an old dog because of all her issues, but with Doc's help I gave her the best 6 1/2 years that she could have had. When it came time to say goodbye to her, Doc was here to help me through that difficult time. He explained everything that would happen, gave me time to say goodbye and I could tell that it was almost as difficult for him as it was for me. It helped that Maggie could be here at home instead of in a cold clinic somewhere. He is a VERY caring and compassionate man. He will work tirelessly for his patients and their pet parents, if needed he will come out to the house anytime of the day OR night. In the 50 years that I have had dogs I have never found anyone better to take care of my babies. I would highly recommend him to anyone who wants the best for their "babies." Read Less

Save your money and take your pet to an actual vet office. My cat had a limp, it wasn't an emergency but I thought having a vet come to the home would be great idea. You don't have to take your pet anywhere! This was one of the worst ideas I've ever had. My cat loves everyone, and from the time Dr. Cahill came in the door I my cat was on edge. Without even giving my cat a chance to get familiar with him, he started petting my cat's wiskers (which my cat did not like and was unhappy about). After examining my cat Dr. Cahill decided that my cat had slipped discs causing his limp, and prescribed oral medication for us while we wait to be seen by a kitty chiropractor (his recommendation). Dr. Cahill then wanted to give my cat a shot to reduce inflammation, but expected my husband or I to hold the cat down. This did not go over well. My husband got severe scratches on his arms, my cat peed in our living room, and continued to hiss at us for at least three days after. Keep your pet's bad experiences out of your house. We did not give our cat the medication prescribed, and took him to vet office the following week to have x-rays done, and there is absolutely nothing wrong with his vertebrae. I would not call this service again, and I would urge other people to take your pets to a veterinary office to avoid a terrible experience. Read Less
