We had to put down our wonderful dog Bear. The staff here were amazing. They had a peaceful and quiet room with serene music playing to calm Bear down. They asked if we had any questions and were very compassionate about what we were going through. I feel like this would be the best place you could ever take your pet to for any service. A few days after we let Bear go we took our other dog in to get his nails trimmed and hip looked at. They were very helpful and comforting for him as he was very antsy about being there. My husband and I find the staff and Dr. Stevenson to be very professional and knowledgeable. The cat that recently adopted us was brought here and we trusted them completely with the initial vaccinations and checkup. We then had to schedule a surgery for his hernia (which we thought initially was a cyst) that was a surprise to all of us when the surgery occurred. We are so thankful for this Veterinary hospital for a great job and the care for our cat! We'll continue to use them as long as we have pets. Dr. Carola Stevenson has been the best vet I've ever experienced. She and her staff explain everything so well and in detail. We had to put down one of our dogs in February 2017 and the kindness, compassion and care our dog and we received was priceless. Such an aweful thing to do and we miss him so much, but they were stellar in loving us through this difficult time. We have a new rescue dog and he has done some pretty silly things and ended up in the ER, what impressed me most and that her staff called me the next business day and inquired on how he was doing! Service: 10/10 quick and friendly staff Atmosphere: 10/10 cat friendly for sure and a good warm feeling when you walk in. Parking: 10/10 it wasn't too busy when we arrived. Private parking lot included. Our first visit here was absolutely a breath of fresh air! We had rescued our kitty from the Denver Animal Shelter and they gave us a helpful sheet of local veterinarians and we just went with the closest one to our home. Immediately when we walked in we were greeted with warm smiles and they went ahead and put us into a room very quickly. Ponyo did so good with the technician as well as the doctor whom helped us. They were also so kind to give us goodies to take home for Ponyo! She got a new food/water bowl a bag of treats, a bag of dry cat food, pens, and other informational cards. I had the most amazing Vet experience ever and I've only been in once! The Vet Tech Catherine was wonderful and understanding. She knew how to get my Doberman out of her shell. Samy Lyons did an excellent job explaining everything they were about to do and what the plans were to help my dog with her stiff neck. They weren't over bearing or were pushy with recommendations. They didn't recommend unnecessary things that weren't going to improve the health of my dog like other Vet Clinics have done in the past. My husband and I were super impressed overall and are planning to take our 2nd dog in soon. It is such a relief to find someone knowledgeable, caring and trustworthy with your fur babies. This is the 2nd time I have taken an animal to them because my normal vet was close. the first time was on a Saturday in 2010 they treated her and told me my dog was ok and take her home then she past away within the hour. I said I wouldn't go to them again and they closed in bear valley off Dartmouth. When I got my second dog and she got sick I needed a vet that was open and found that my vet was close and seen this on google and took her to this place (didn't know they reopen at a different location and was the same company) and took my Boxer there they gave her a treatment and said she was ok and was told to take her home. Again I lost my beloved dog of 6 years my only comfort animal that helps me. Again she died in less 8 hours. After contacting the Boxer society I learned it is a common Boxer illness that happens and with the correct medicine AND treatment she would have lived and still be with me. All I can say if you treat dog of special breeds know your ANIMALS. This could have been preventive. I understand you were busy with a cat that needed to be put to sleep and with their family, but make sure the others that come in get the correct treatment that is needed. Yes, the people was nice and all an I did have a wait time. At least I got time to spend with my dog while we was there before she left me. Read Less

This clinic is the best in 8 years of visiting a couple Vets here and there.After paying for a entire consultation, blood work, teeth cleaning and a small cist  removed at the previous vet, I found out that the vaccine that was expired for my pet and was supposed to be given on that procedure was not.I had a emergency travel and no one would accept him for boarding without it, I call them, explained the situation on a Saturday when everyone was booked around, the made the effort in accommodating 'us'. They even stayed after business hours waiting since was a emergency. The entire staff was amazed, I even got a estimate for nodder him, I need to  do it and found super over priced around. So happy to have this amazing team in the neighborhood! We moved to Bear Valley and brought out two teacup Himilayan cats to the Bear Valley vet. They did such a great job explaining the procedures and we're so good with the animals! The best part was the follow up. We had an unfortunate situation with one of our pups who was attacked while we were on our honeymoon. He went days without care and was in bad shape. We brought him to Dr Lyons after being to the ER Vet twice receiving so-so care. Dr Lyons was amazing and eased my anxiety so much! The techs also were great and always treated us amazing. I recently attended a 2 month program that was located a block from the clinic and was so grateful my sweet Simon was able to stay there, as extended family. We love Bear Valley Vet! We have been faithful clients for about a year, and our two dogs LOVE coming in (which they have multiple time besides their normal check-ups)! We had a scare earlier this year, and everyone we worked with was great in working us through this scare, and getting on multiple phone calls with us to explain everything and allowing us to come in and "visit" him while he was getting the care he needed. It is amazing the difference it has made in his life and our life! And an added plus, we can tell they truly love and care for our crazy dogs, even though they have to manage two anxious over-protective hypochondriac dog parents! Read Less

We have always had 1-2 cats during the past 30 years. Since about the year 2000, when necessary, we have taken our cats to Bear Valley Vet. They are great people. When end-of-life care has been required, and/or advised, they have been sensitive to our concerns and sensitive to the grief experienced when losing our best friends. While not equipped with every conceivable piece of medical equipment, their building is well equipped and always clean and well maintained. 5 stars! Read Less

There is not a better Vet in the City. I've been taking my pups there since they were born. Everyone there is very knowledgeable, friendly and will remember both you and your animals by name. Even after moving 30-40 min away they are still my vet, I don't trust to go anywhere else where I feel comfortable and confident that they will take care of my pets. I would rate this place a zero if I could. DO NOT BRING YOUR BELOVED PETS HERE! Their only interested in putting money in their pockets. I brought my bull terrior pup here a few months ago to get an abcess on his nose checked out. They suggested I bring him in for x-rays with the possibility of removing some of his teeth. I scheduled the appointment and brought him in. The x-rays showed he had an infection and several teeth that needed to be removed. Instead of prescribing him an antibiotic for the infection and rescheduling the appointment after the infection went down, Dr Carola pulled his teeth anyway. During the procedure he went into cardiac arrest and died. Dr told me, "He was very sick, it had to be genetics or something wrong with his organs for this to happen." I sent him in for a necropsy (autopsy), to find out what happened. There was nothing geneticly wrong with him and his organs were in good condition. The infection entered into his bloodstream and killed him. Then Dr. Carola had the nerve to charge me $900! Which by the way was a discount, for signing a lawsuit waiver. I would of never paid them a dime, but they had Chico's ashes and that meant more to me. BEWARE of this place! Read Less

I love this place. I have had my dog for 3 years and we have been to 4 different vets; until Bear Valley Veterinary Care Center, I thought it was the norm to have just routine blood work and vaccinations and pushed out the door. At Bear Valley Veterinary Care Center they seem to really care about my dog, taking time and asking me how he is doing and if I have any concerns. They also always go over pricing before any blood work / vaccinations, which is a nice change compared to getting a surprise bill at the end of a visit. My dog is terrified at the vet's office, but instead of acting like it's a nuisance, the vet techs and doctor always try to reassure me and my dog and give me tips to try and ease his anxiety for next time. I am confident that the more that we go to this vet that ACTUALLY cares about animals, the more easy it will be for me and my dog. I can't say enough good things about this place! Read Less

Invested in the life vaccination program for my dog. Should have realized any program like this would have many loopholes for the company to void the contract. This one was you still had to bring the dog for exams and pay that fee. So, the contract is designed to keep you spending money with exams that are not necessary. I was invited to bring my dog in and pay for an exam PLUS any vaccinations needed since Bear Valley Veterinary Center nullified the contract. Unfortunate that businesses do not care for long time customers (I've been going there since their start on Dartmouth Ave) but would rather nickel and dime you for every possible thing.  I AM looking for a new vet to bring my dogs to. I have taken all my puppies (4) to this veterinary care center since it first started up and there is nothing negative I can say about the Vets, the staff and the facility. Dr. Stevenson is the best!
