My 2 year old dog is my best friend, my hiking buddy, my companion that is always there. We have been going to Brentwood Animal Hospital ever since she was 8 weeks old. After her spay, Piper had a really difficult time with spay incontinence and maintaining a good PH starting 2 months after the spay. It took 3 months to get a proper diagnosis. Instead of going with Proin, due to the numerous negative reviews that I read on multiple credible sites, I went with an herbal approach and gave her cornsilk. She did really well with that for about 1 year and 3 months. Then the leaking in her sleep started to occur again. I took her in and was humiliated by the vet due to my choice of giving her an herbal remedy and was told to take her to Vitamin Cottage if I wanted to continue on a holistic approach. At this appointment, I wanted her tested for diabetes since she was losing weight and because Dr. Brown wasn't pleased with my choice to go an herbal route, she couldn't tell if she was diabetic or not from her urine, but insisted that I give Piper more veggies because her PH was still off (after a full year). I decided to give Proin a chance since I was exhausted of bathing her and cleaning her bedding daily. She did well for about 6 weeks and then the leaking occurred again and she started to lose weight rapidly. At this point, I knew taking her to BWH wasn't going to solve anything. I found a holistic/western medicine vet that took us in immediately. It turns out Piper has had a severe UTI for several weeks. That was cured within 10 days. Leaking still continued so we did a blood test, something I requested from BWH when I asked about the possibility of diabetes, and Dr. Brown didn't feel it was necessary. After getting the results, I was informed yesterday that I needed to take Piper to the ER immediately. I spent 5 hours at the veterinarian ER and am now hoping that I get good news for a long life with my 2 year old dog. She only has 1 kidney, which was news to me, and that kidney is abnormal and has the possibility of infection. Had you and your staff listened to me and perhaps thought about the correlations with her high PH over the past year, much of this would and could have been prevented. My dogs life is now on the line because your team didn't do their job and was more worried about your pride and my desire to do holistic medicine for my young pup. Read Less
