My experience with Denver Animal Hospital was... just fine. JUST fine. My dog was seen for an initial exam, three routine vaccinations, a heart worm test, heart worm medicine, and I had him microchipped. He also needed antibiotics for inflamed gums. The bill for all this was $285, which I think is fair. He got what he needed, and the folks in the office were pleasant. The "wellness exam" cost $45 and consisted only of having my dog's temperature taken, a few pats from the doctor and assistant/office manager, and my answering a few health questions. There was no "exam" as far as I could tell and I'm not sure what I paid $45 for. I was the one who had to point out the issue with his gums. They took blood, gave vaccines, and inserted the microchip. The office could run more smoothly. I had to call three times before being able to make an appointment. The phone went to voice mail once (during office hours) and I hung up once for being put on hold for a long time. (Though, to be fair, they did ask if it was an emergency and if it was ok to put me on hold.) Because there is only one front desk person who is also the assistant, there were several people waiting while I was checking out. There was a little fumbling around looking for appropriate items and some trouble with the computer and printer which contributed to the overall feeling of not-quite-having-it-togetherness. As I said before, we got what we needed and the staff was friendly. However, if, God forbid, I have an emergency with my beloved dog, I'm not quite sure I'd feel 100% confident and comfortable going back. I mean... I'm crossing my fingers that my microchip information will be registered accurately. Read Less
