My Older Boxer CHICO received IV treatment and very GOOD care ❤. It felt safe leaving my BIG BABY CHICO behind in the care of staff. I brought him in with a fever of 104. Was not eating or drinking. Vomiting , Had the runs and was weak. I decided to bring him to their clinic after receiving care at the AURORA ANIMAL HOSPITAL on Smokey Hill the day before and they did NOT DO ANYTHING FOR HIS SYMPTOMS plus i left with a huge bill. I am so thankful for Dr. Brooks and her team for the medical attention they gave my CHICO after a set of x-rays , IV- fluids with meds, 3 different medications given to take home. He was able to come home and receive lots of love 💘 and continue his care to help with his recovery. He still needs treatment but does look a little better. Thank you Dr.Brooks and the staff that cared for our CHICO BOY 🐕. I will take him in on Monday for his appointment to continue with treatment. 💕 Read Less

Avoid this clinic. The customer service is terrible and the quality of communication between staff and the doctors must be too, according to my experience. I did not receive an email verification for my appointment so I called in. They let me know that it is auto and might take a bit of time. I waited three hours and still did not get that confirmation so called back. This time Meghan, the lady I talked to before to make appointment was at lunch and Veronica answered. She just says that "normally we do not send emails ourselves..." and goes on to repeat what Meghan had already said to avoid taking the initiative of simply just shooting an email. I get the same thing from Veronica.Instead of insisting, she requests my information to report to her manager. All I wanted was written confirmation. Technology is in place to help us complete our tasks to get the job done, if that technology fails we still are responsible for those tasks. The only reason I am even requesting a new appointment is because the doctor I saw last week is apparently out for an entire month with no warning. So I basically have to start all over with a new doctor there because her notes did not say I could receive the oral antibiotics she told me I could call in if shot doesn't work within a week. People will do anything to avoid completing a task they feel like is below them. My experience here today has reminded me of that. Read Less

Have taken both of my pups here for their spay/neuter and vaccines/microchip and the staff has been helpful and friendly! Veronica at the front desk had to call me about an O2 tank leaking and they were unable to perform my pups spay that day. I had a trip coming up and the boarding center required her to be spayed, I relayed this to Veronica and my disappointment and she politely, professionally and quickly assisted me in coming up with a solution that provided quality care even though her hands were tied. I appreciate her responsiveness and empathy during our phone call as I was probably not the most pleasant. I would avoid this clinic! The staff, really bitchy, rude, and unprofessional when I showed up for my 9:30am appointment . Gave me attitude because they told me I should have been here at 9am. I showed them my voice mail and Veronica stated 9:30 for today. When originally the appointment was made for 10am, earlier in the week. No apologies from both women. Just a shrug of shoulders. Telling to have a seat. I asked about rescheduling but they said a room would open up. So, waited around for 30 min in the waiting room, then another 45 min in the examining room. Probable longer if I did not walk out to see if anybody was going to help me. Then Dr. Cotter told me he would be in soon, from behind the desk. The lady working with Veronica told the vet I was late in a snobby whisper! Right in front of me! Why she thought trying to make me look bad is beyond me. Then Dr. Cotter was rude to me when I told him I was not late. After that exchange I walked out. Don’t want this staff touching my dog. Especially Dr. Cotter! They really do not care about people or dogs! Looks like all they care about is saving there butts and making sure a they all got a burrito from the food guy, the world stop for him! Wow. Took my kitty there because he swallowed floss and had to get x-rays The doctor was very unsanitary with the tools she used and wasn't very helpful with the information she gave us. She first told me my cat was fine and then kept changing her answer and saying we should probably send the x-rays to a radiologist. Made me feel like they were just trying to get money. One of the techs took a fecal sample and gave us $10 off which was nice but they later called me and told me I needed to bring in another sample to confirm what they already found in the first sample. So I brought one in the following week and they tried to charge me again for the full charge of $40. They wouldn't take the sample so I left. After going back AGAIN and explaining this to the tech that originally took the sample they were able to only charge me for the remaining $10. They successfully diagnosed my kitty and gave me the meds that were supposed to last for 8 days. It's has now only been 3 days and I am completely out of the medicine. We love this vet! They really care about your animal, are very cost conscious, and are very accommodating.They have appointments with vet techs OR veterinarians. The former usually for vaccinations, the latter for other concerns. We have found this to be very convenient and cost effective.In regards to costs, they explain fees before, during, and after all appointments, and allow you to decide what is best for your pet. While I would give my right arm to keep my dog healthy, it's nice to know I don't need to!We've enjoyed this center and staff for about a year now, and will continue to return! Read Less

My bunny died at this hospital. I was told from another vet that most places spay/neuter rabbits like a cat or dog when rabbits are more sensitive. I trust this vet since she has bunnies of her own and seems very knowledgable so i plan to get my new bunny spayed there. Read Less

Do not depend upon these people to see your dog if it is sick! I had been here several times for shots. My dog has a small sore on his eyelid, My wife called on a friday to get the first appointment, the first appointment was tuesday. By monday morning my dog's eye was swollen shut. I took him by on monday morning and asked for an immediate appointment. There was literally no other patients in the office. They would not see him until my tuesday appointment. They will not see your pet if it is sick!!!!! It is ok to expect them to honor appointments made days in advance. But it is better to have a real vet that sees dogs when they are actually sick! Im sitting here wondering how this clinic has 4.6 stars instead of being closed down. Sandy (Chihuahua) was taken to the Downtown Animal Care Center on 2/21/17 by my aunt, Donita. She was going in to get spayed but unfortunately the worst happened, if your planning on taking your animals here, please dont. Our whole family LOVED sandy, she was the one who greeted you at the door when you visited and if you knew sandy you knew that she was always in those cute little dog dresses. She had the cutest, outgoing personality. When my aunt brought sandy in she made sure to ask the vet if she was in good health and if everything would be okay and they reassured her that she was in good health.After the procedure was done the vet said everything went well and that she was just "sensitive" but couldn't walk or stand up on her own. My aunt was surprised when it came time to pay because they added a few extra charges and instead of the $75 dollars it was now almost $300. Not even 15 minutes after they were back home with sandy, she tried to stand up, yelped and collapsed.My aunt and uncle then rushed her to Banfield emergency but unfortunately Sandy had already passed away. Bandfield thinks they gave sandy too much anesthesia. When my aunt tries to confront Downtown Animal Care Center, they're not only extremely unprofessional and rude but speak about sandy dying as if she was not of significance at all.They are at fault for killing my aunts beloved they seem to not care one bit. This is also the same clinic where my aunts cat, smokey was taken to. They took Smokey's blood THREE times and still weren't able to see that smokey had very bad cancer.They couldn't even tell my aunt why smokey was extremely sick. We will miss sandy so much. I really love the staff and atmosphere at this vet! I just moved to Denver about a year ago and had to put one of my kitties down very suddenly about 6 months ago and we went to another vet nearby and had such a horrible experience so when I took my newest kitty here to get neutered it was such a welcomed change of atmosphere for me. The staff are all so helpful and friendly and didn't get annoyed or angry when I called about 10 times after the surgery with questions. I highly reccomend this veterinary office! Read Less

I took my husky in because she was limping and discovered she had a torn ligament. After spending $200 on x-rays I was told her only option was the TPLO surgery, which would cost $2500. I applied for care credit immediately an was denied (due to lack of credit history) I asked the vet what my options were as I didn't have that kind of money available up front. She basically said call and schedule the surgery when I had the money. No other information, nothing. Took my dog to Planned Pethood on a friend's recommendation and they suggested an alternative surgery, which Downtown Animal Care had never mentioned was an option. Not only was this surgery half the price, but the vet actually took the time to answer all my questions regarding her condition instead of rushing me out the door when I asked about payment options. My dog suffered the whole time she was treated there. I took my black lab in with a lump on her paw. Dr. Lin saying it was fluid filled, lanced it. It was not fluid filled, but tissue. All she did was nearly slice it in two and give me an estimate for surgery. The lump nearly tripled within 3 weeks, I called back and asked for an experienced vet, They recommended Dr. McMannus. All he did was look at it, said it was cancer and gave me an estimate for surgery, nearly triple of Dr. Lin's. I called to discuss the cost of the surgery and was told Dr. McMannus was out for 2 weeks. I gave up and took her to a real vet. They tested the lump and found NO cancer. He said he would NOT recommend surgery, instead prescribed anti-biotics and steroids. Within 24 hours my sweet girl was walking normal again, and not trying to constantly lick it. 24 HOURS!! It took one office visit with a knowledgeable vet to resolve this stressful situation. Downtown Animal NEVER tested the lump nor offered medication. I feel furious that my dog suffered NEEDLESSLY under their care. It was actually caused by a splinter.....they are surgery happy, they didn't give a crap about my dog.Read Less

Wonderfully helpful staff! My cat had a traumatic drive to the clinic for a check up and made a mess in his carrier. They cleaned out his container and provided me with towels to help clean him off. April is the best. The only reason I was able to survive leaving my puppy for treatment, was knowing that April would take care of her. This is an amazing place to bring your pet. I'm so happy my family and I chose them. If I could give them more stars I would. You can tell they truly care for the animals and are honest about treatment. We went to the Downtown Animal Care Center for a puppy socialization class and asked the front staff where we check in. They told us someone would be out to get us from the training group. We arrived 15 minutes early and waited 45 min. Finally one of the four puppy owners waiting with us asked if the front staff knew if the class was still happening. The front staff finally grabbed the trainer who came out and said the class had started 30 min ago. The front staff (who were not too busy) watched as we sat there and missed the class instead of informing us it was in the room next door. This class occurs every Saturday at the exact same time and space so it baffles me the front desk staff would not be more informed or helpful. Needless to say we will not be taking our puppy here due to poor customer service. Read Less

I have hopped from vet to vet unsatisfied until I found Downtown Animal Care. Their prices are very affordable and they give great care but I really have to give praise to Dr. Farnsworth. She is an absolutely amazing vet. I take all 6 of my animals to her and my parents take their animals to her as well. She is so caring for the animals, treating them as if they are her own.
