Until I moved out of CO two years ago, Dr Kromka was my cats' vet for 14 years. I can honestly say he's been a hero to me. When my cat, Charlie, developed liver disease and most vets would have said it was the end because you can't live without a functioning liver, Dr Kromka never gave up on him and provided supportive care to help him bounce back. And he did bounce back! Dr Kromka patiently taught me how to give sub-q fluids at home so I could do it confidently. He kept my Charlie with me a good 6 or 7 YEARS with good quality of life after many other vets would have thrown in the towel. My Charlie passed in Dec of 2010 at the age of 19! When my Toby got diabetes, Dr Kromka was there, patiently teaching me about insulin and giving insulin shots and what to do if his sugar dropped too low. When Toby started having seizures about 3-4 years later, I could call on my way there and he'd be waiting for us. He tried and tried to figure out why it was happening, discovering that Toby had carcinomatosis, an aggressive cancer that had likely spread from his abdomen to his brain. My Chipper got sick with a severe case of pancreatitis and again, Dr Kromka (and Dr Pritchard who moved away, I believe) pulled out all the stops and every possible option to save him but he was too sick. And this was after years of care with Dr K and his team. And his team, particularly Holly, Sherry, and Jennifer... some of whom were there holding my hand and crying with me when it was time to say goodbye... I can't put into words what that meant to me. Even my current kitties saw him before I moved. My poor Pierre still will not accept his new vet here in SC but he LOVED Dr Kromka. I want to take a minute to thank you, Dr Kromka, Holly, Sherry (if you can see this!), Jennifer, and I'm sure I'm forgetting some of the amazing techs... Sarah, I think, was one. Thank you for being the amazing people you are and for providing the best care for my fur babies over the years! I know your jobs are not always easy and you see some really tragic things that probably keep you up at night. So, I just want to thank you for everything, EVERYTHING over the years. Even for not firing my cantankerous old aunt as a client, even when she may have deserved it and for boarding her Jesse, without hesitation when her neighbor rushed him in after Nancy went into emergency surgery and nearly died and then spent weeks in recovery. For bringing the phone to her equally cantankerous old cat when he started going downhill without her, and putting that phone on speaker so she could talk to him. You all don't know it, but you helped Jesse pull through and Nancy too. He may have passed some months later, but you gave them just a bit more time together. Time that I really believe saved her life. Thank you, thank you, thank you from the bottom of my heart.Read Less
