I love Overland! Everyone there is super nice and incredibly knowledgeable. They are also incredibly flexible, even working with me to get a vaccine scheduled on extremely short notice that worked with my very limited schedule to be sure my dog could get into daycare. She also made sure I understood what procedures they were doing/would bill for and explained each one to me on the front end, so I could know why they wanted to do it and choose whether to complete the procedure. Overland Animal Hospital and Pet Resort has been an amazing resource for our family. After adopting a dog elsewhere with numerous behavior problems, our trainers recommended leveraging Overland's services including daycare, training, and overnights for when we were out of town. This included exploring her behaviors on-site and with other dogs. Despite our best efforts and tremendous progress, our dog's behavior was unpredictable and dangerous which resulted in my partner getting bit. This led us to the sad decision for needing to put her down, and the Overland staff were amazingly compassionate and helpful through the entire process. A year later, we've adopted a new dog who needed minor surgery and had some anxiety issues, especially with being held down. With the help of Overland and Erica's training we were able to make huge progress with her to the point we're not at all worried about her behaviors nor health. Beautiful facility and friendly front counter staff. Poor bed side manner from the vet. She was more of a saleswoman trying increase our bill rather than just doing what was best for our cat. We finally came to the conclusion that all we're going to do were some labs and give her fluids. When we received our bill we saw two extra expensive things that we hadn't agreed on to be done. The staff at Overland is amazing!!! I have a Siberian Husky named Loki, and he definitely lives up to the name. The staff at Overland work with him and his needs during group play and he comes home so happy after playing with all of his dog friends! A little background on Loki, I had gone to 2 different dog behaviorist who said Loki has fear-aggression towards other dogs. Loki was not improving after many sessions with other behaviorist and I finally figured out I was the issue and Loki needed some consistent 1:1 time with a professional! I looked ALL OVER the state of Colorado for a boarding program where a trainer would work with a dog with "fear aggression" daily. No places would accept him because of this diagnosis and the places that would were unbelievably expensive. In comes Overland Hospital and the AMAZING trainer they have on staff, Erica. Erica evaluated Loki and decided he did not have fear aggression, but leash aggression. She worked with him every day for two weeks and he made unbelievable improvements in every way. Prices for boarding are fair even have punch cards. I like that its not overcrowded and there are vets present. I think my dog has a good time, very little communication from staff. Staff is never that friendly to me but seems to like my dog. Very convenient and fair grooming prices. But for a dog with a long coat it's was not worth the convenience or money for me. I can bath and brush my dog better myself. He was not dried well and very frizzy, looked twice his size. He nails were cut nicely and he smelled really good. I was not pleased with his cut, it was still very long and uneven in some parts. Lucky for her she received a tip before I saw my dog. I would recommend. Read Less

I have been taking my cat to Overland for many years for both boarding when I am out of town and veterinary care. I feel that the veterinarians (especially Dr. Brown, whom we see most often) really have a grasp of his medical issues and they are able to provide caring and effective treatment. The people who work in the kennel are also fantastic and they spoil him rotten while he's there. I now mix my cat's food with hot water on the basis of their suggestion. I dropped off Akai my white Siberian husky here today for a long extended stay while the vet takes care of her needs for this daunting move down under. I can say that when I arrived (early may I add) I did not have to wait long. They had me in a room and with the vet right away. This whole process is already a lengthy and overwhelming one but when I got here I felt relaxed and reassured that my dog would have the best care possible. The staff treat you like family here and the vet is very knowledgeable and professional. While I wouldn't recommend anyone to move a pet to another country for it is a lengthy and expensive one, my dog is my soul mate and I would never be able to leave her while I leave the states. I am not a fan of kennels and would have rather kept her with friends but the process of keeping her up to date with the vet and the Australian government can be a bit of a task. I spent 2 hours here getting the run down and being able to settle akai into the kennel. Some places won't let you go back to the kennel (that should be the first clue), not to let your dog stay there, but here they let me set up her bed and see where she would be. Which I am grateful because I originally was keeping her in a single suite but after seeing the size and knowing how long she was staying I felt more comfortable leaving her in a double suite. They do discounts for extended stays for your viewing pleasure might I add!!! I can't wait to see my puppy love in Australia, and I know she will be in the best of hands while I wait!!!! Read Less

Reasonable prices and fantastic service. We found our new animal clinic!!Had a great first-time experience bringing my five-year-old Golden, Juneau, in for a checkup at Overland. Quick check in and nurse Hannah was in to see us right away to take notes and provide some advice. Dr. Pansiera, who has quite the dog-bedside manner (I've been advised this is a dad joke), popped in to give a thorough exam of my pupster, fully attentive to my concerns and being careful with an uncertain patient. The good doctor put my nervous nelly at ease with her calming reassurance and gentle touch. It was as if they had met previously! Within minutes, Dr. Pantera and her staff had checked Juneau's eyes, runny nose, teeth (finding a missing tooth in the process), performed a full exam, took some samples, and expressed her "patoot sacs" (medical term).Dr. P checked with local pharmacies for the cheapest prices on some followup meds, got us scheduled for a teeth cleaning just a few days later (my idea: the doc said her teeth looked great!), and sent us on our way with an affordable and thorough exam. We love this place. We board our Boston terrier here and he loves it. We watch him on the web cams and he just loves going in and out all day long. It's nice to know our boy is in good hands when we are out of town. He's like my child so I really spare no expense lol- the room we board him in is like $60/night. Excellent doctors that really care for your pet! My cat visits the doctor there for shots/checkups and our two dogs spent time there while we were in Ireland. I recommend getting a quote in writing before boarding your pets here. We priced everything out in detail online, over the phone, and in-person. When we picked our dogs up, we still got hit with multiple unexpected charges. Also, both of our small dogs lost a significant amount of weight during their stays. Not sure why. Having lived in 4 large cities across the country in 20+ years with multiple dogs, cats, lizards, etc - I have worked with Veterinarians, Groomers and Boarding facilities of all types and sizes.  Overland Animal Hospital is absolutely the best I've ever worked with!Without a doubt or any hesitation I've been impressed over and over again.  Dr. Frieldlander and her supporting doctors and nurses are warm, kind, caring and know vet medicine better than any group I've ever had my pets visit.  I wish my personal doctors were as caring and detailed.When I go to Overland for regular care or the emergencies over the years, I always leave feeling informed and educated, and I never leave worried about any at-home care which I might need to give my pets.  When I drop off my dogs for grooming they come back clean, groomed and happy.  When I've had to board my 2 dogs and cat for any period of time (1 day - 1 week) I know they are well cared for, exercised and happy.  I've never used their pet training services but I always see the "teachers" and "students" enjoying their training sessions when I visit.I've been coming to Overland for 5+ years and I could not imagine finding a better Vet, Boarding or Grooming for my pets.  The people are great, the facility is amazing and complete.    The prices are fair, especially considering the amount of follow-up and professionalism the staff delivers.  If you are looking for new vet, or want a 2nd opinion on something your current vet told you - or if you are in need of boarding, grooming, training or any advice for your pets - GO TO OVERLAND ANIMAL HOSPITAL! This place is absolutely terrible as far as the boarding goes. First off I was an employee there for a short time and the disorganization and confusion in the pet resort is ridiculous. I can't tell you how many times a dog or cat was over medicated or under medicated, under fed or over fed, or fed the wrong food. It happened nearly everyday. I'm not joking, and we were told to tell the pet owners nothing. As for the playtime, individual dogs are supposed to get out three times a day for about 20 minutes. That never happened either, during slow days they got out maybe twice but during holidays there would be several days where dogs weren't getting out at all! There was also an issue over a holiday weekend and Overland over booked themselves like they do every holiday, and dogs had to be placed in isolation kennels and cats had to be kept in the surgery kennels. Those clients were paying for their cat to be kept in a suite but instead were kept in a cold metal cage, and the owners were never told anything. I always tell people to take your pet somewhere else when asked about this place. The veterinary hospital is great, but the pet resort is not. They really put on a good front but take it from someone who worked there, there are so many mistakes and problems with the day to day care of the animals I wouldn't trust my animals to board there. The experience was just ok. Wasn't big on the animal shelter style units my dog stayed in. We boarded our dog for two days and called and checked in on him daily. The staff was very accommodating. This was the first time we have boarded our dog. The first day they indicated he wasn't enjoying the group play time, so they did one on one play which costs more money, wasn't thrilled about that. They indicated he warmed up after that, and enjoyed group play time. When I went to pay I had the Yelp $50 for $30 deal, and tried to use it, the check-out girl said that deal was just for vet services and didn't want to accept at first, argued with her saying it doesn't say that on the deal. Finally a co-worker jumped in and said you can use it for anything they offer. All in all not sure if we would go back. Read Less

Adequate facilities for boarding my extremely fussy cat and she appeared to do just fine. Clean areas with a window view and ledges to jump up on. Prices were also reasonable. My one complaint - my cat pooped in the crate right before I took her out to put her in her 'room.' I told the attendant and she said "Oh, that's okay." I assumed that meant they'd take it out of there before I picked her up. Nope. Dried poop was still in the crate and the towel I left for her to lay on was pushed up in the back of the crate. And she was in the crate with both. Even if you aren't the original attendant, how exactly was that missed? Read Less

Dr. Kimberly Palgrave is one of the most caring and informative veterinarians I have ever had the pleasure of seeing. She, and the rest of their staff, has never done unnecessary procedures and always informs me of what my dog really needs. My dog has had behavior and health issues and Overland has always treated her like their own. I feel lucky to have found such a wonderful animal facility since I am new to CO. We consistently drove across town to board our dog at Overland - it's clean, the staff are friendly and professional, and we were confident that they took great care of our pup while we're away. The main reason we chose Overland when we first moved to Denver was for their offering of individual play - our beagle mix is very picky when it comes to friends, and we didn't want to take the chance of her getting into any scuffles with other dogs during group play. Overland's individual play option was perfect - a kennel staff member took her into a private yard and played with her multiple times a day one-on-one. Unfortunately, they recently instituted a fee for this option, which used to be a free alternative to group play - on top of their $35/night charge, individual play is now $10/day. We would love to continue going to Overland, but it's just WAY too expensive. :( Read Less

After going through some big chain vet place and was basically recommended to get the "puppy package" for $400, I brought my corgi puppy to Overland to get his shots. I just want to go to a place that doesn't offer BS, has good caring doctors and close to my house. This place fits all my requirements. The vet let met know what my options are but never pushed me to get anything I don't want. They are quite popular. Every time I go there, I always see a lot of clients. NEVER GOING BACKI took my dog to board here while I was on a trip for work. I chose Overland because my dog was being treated for some gastrointestinal issues and needed medication on a regular basis. When I came to pick him up, they gave me back ALL OF THE MEDICATION that I had left with them to give him. He got zero meds for three days. I can't begin to express how outraged I am. So, I toured this boarding facility because of the wonderful reviews online.  The staff seemed really wonderful, as mentioned, and I loved that someone lives right on the grounds to be available at any given time.  However, I was really concerned about the play area being outdoors and un-shoveled (left snowy) even in the cold.  I also disliked the area of the boarding facility that looked like an old school animal shelter in a concrete hall with a big heat lamp overhead and chain link doors. I would definitely be paying extra to board my dog in one of the double kennels that have plastic doors and are actually indoors.  The hose down/ chain link thing made me feel like my rescue dog might have a very hard time with the set-up when I leave her alone in the winter in that other location.  Also, I can't see how they would air-condition that area.  The toy suites were the best area, however your dog must be 15 lbs or under to stay in those.Another note, the TV rooms with web cams are having the TVs removed because they no longer work, so I guess the noise level of barking for dogs needing quieter areas won't be able to happen.  So that was a little concerning.  All and all, we will need to weigh the pros and cons.  I feel like if our dog stays under or around 15 lbs, we might consider keeping her here in the summer in a toy suite, and then she could play outside.  I would  definitely wouldn't put her in one of the chain link rooms, and it would not be an option in the winter -- which is sad because the staff seems really great. I wish I could said nice things about this place, trust me, I really hoped that would be the case. Please keep in mind that this only reflects the pet resort at Overland, I have no knowledge whatsoever about the hospital's operations. Today, was my first time at Overland Doggie Camp and Care, and what a waste of a great facility! I call it a waste because my dog did not get to enjoy any of it! I left my pet at 9:30am, and throughout 5:30pm she was taken outside her room not even once. I take it the personnel forget they have live webcams, or just do not care about dissapointing their customers. What made it worst, was the fact that I called to check on her, and was told by a very sweet but clueless employee, that my dog was doing fine, that she had already been at the playground twice and was having fun, sadly, those were all lies. The only reason why I brought my dog here was because they offer live webcams, and hours of fun socializing with other dogs and their staff. All I got was a room, indeed with a live webcam that only proved all Overland had offered to be otherwise; a boring, lonely and careless experience for my dog. Read Less

Overland was such a find! After a disappointing experience with a dog walker, Overland calmed my nerves. Loving tender care was given in addition to a grooming session! Thanks so much for watching our 2 little poodles when we were in Denver for our Daughters wedding this past week. The facility was professional, clean, and friendly and we could tell the minute we walked in that everything was going to be well taken care of, especially our dogs. The staff called our vet here in Michigan to make sure the dogs had all their shots and when they found that one of the dogs required an additional shot, they took care of it. How convenient! We have been taking our dogs and cats to Dr. Cito at Overland Animal Hospital for about four years. He has always been honest, NEVER overcharged or tried to oversell us on services. We think he is a wonderful vet. In addition to the vet services, we began using their doggie daycare services. Conrad and Will are the absolute best when it comes to taking care of our three dogs. They get wonderful huge indoor/outdoor runs, one on one playtime, and we do not have to worry about them mixing in with a mass of 30-40 other dogs that may cause injury or anxiety. Also, we get this wonderful doggie daycare for LESS than any other doggie daycare we have had our dogs at. And while they are there, it is no problem asking for them to get their shots, a bath, nail trim. I highly recommend this vet and facility to anyone for their pet needs and boarding. Read Less

I had other reservations at a very well known hospital and boarding facility in Littleton. One of my little dogs was just adopted from the Dumb Friends League and we are working on some minor behavior issues. I was told I might need to board somewhere else and Overland accepted us with open arms. I received the recommendation to board my protective pet by our pet trainer. They cater to all types and understand that behaviors will improve but just take time. They provide a secure, clean and playful environment to keep your pet while you are away. Overland let?s you tour at any time, which is an excellent sign they are comfortable with the care they provide. You can bring any belongs you want in order to make your dog feel more at home, most places do not want to keep track of these things and want you to tour on their suggested time OR to make an appointment to tour. I look at touring a facility to keep your pet the same as touring a pre-school, and it needs to be open to the public BECAUSE you are serving the public. At Overland your pet receives his or her own cubby! Ha! Their establishment is the cleanest I have ever toured, and I have toured allot. The In and Out kennels are fully covered from the elements and I like that my dogs would not have the option to go out side in the middle of the night as they are both under 20 pounds and with the coyote scare in this area I didn?t feel a night time excursion was necessary. The dogs are on a feeding schedule and routine, which helps them to adjust to the new environment. On my tour I learned they had set up a home for a bird that lived their for an extended amount of time to make him feel comfortable so this is not just a ?resort? for a dog, but a wide range of critters too! They take the time to really care. They women in reception took all the time I needed to answer any of my questions by phone and in person. I toured the ?resort? and even met the boarding attendant that would be with my dogs. They have an enormous play yard and for a little extra a day your dog can go out one on one and play with their attendant - It makes you feel so wonderful you can give them that gift while you are away. I even was able to set up my dogs in their roomy pens before going on my trip. This way I did not have to worry as much about leaving my dog inclined to ?bad? behavior, I knew he was safe and ready for the night. I took my dog here to be boarded and kept going back because it seemed like a great place overall. The staff is kind and the facilities are kept very clean. However, when speaking with the primary vet he came across as critical of how I had or had not been doing things. I felt almost belittled at times, as if I was a child being passively scolded in an unwarranted fashion. I can look past that for great care, but just recently they've been pushing their pet food line and products constantly. This pattern has caused me to since transfer to a new vet, despite the positives. For me, the experience should be more about helping my dog and I instead of trying to up sell come time for a visit or at checkout. Read Less
