Staff was great they were very helpful on explaining what was wrong with my sick puppy dog. They were able to fit her in same day appointment when she was sick and couldn't keep anything down. If I need to take her to a vet again for an emergency (hopefully I will not have to) I will call them again. Simply the best! There are veterinary clinics all over the place, but this has been our veterinarian for years. We've had to do several drop/off day admissions and they've always been so kind in accommodating us. They are also very good about answering a quick question if you call them vs. having to always make an appointment. They are a very busy practice, but they handle the pace quite well it seems. So, this review is a first impression/experience only. Being new to Denver finding a doctor for my "children" is VERY important. With an upcoming trip I scoured Yelp to find a vet and landed on Tender Touch Animal Hospital. I must have called on a very busy day as I was disconnected (due to all of their lines being busy) about 5 times before I was successful. Fortunately, I was given an appointment for BOTH of my dogs together about a week and a half from my call. Day of - I loaded up the dogs and headed to the vet. Finding the place was easy and they have parking behind which is nice. The outside area with grass and poop station was nice and pretty well maintained. The young lady at the front desk was great. My dogs (especially my 6 year old Golden) get very excited and she seemed okay with Maxness! I asked when I made the appointment to get the paperwork ahead of time since I knew two big dogs and one me would be hard. The waiting area is clean and inviting with lots of hooks for leashes. The vet tech came out and assisted me with weighing the dogs and she seemed okay (even though I warned her) that my very strong Golden almost pulled her over. We were taken to the room and only in their maybe 5 minutes before the doctor came in. On first impression Dr. Thiessen was wonderful. She was so warm and patient with again..our Golden who thinks he deserves all the attention. She did a thorough exam of each of our dogs. We discussed a few things and she just seemed very willing to help and listen if she could. The best part for me was being able to pay in the room so that I wasn't having to wrestle two dogs in the waiting room. The lady at the front desk again was very pleasant on our way out. And the vet tech even offered to help me out with our dogs which I thought was kind. Fees: Pretty standard I would assume $62 each dog for a comprehensive exam (establish care) and roughly $60 ish for updated rabies and distemper I believe for one of our dogs. $204 or so total. I don't look forward to returning (who does) but do hopefully anticipate a repeat experience when that time comes. Read Less

Fantastic! Tender Touch has been taking care of our dogs for years now. They have been there time and time again for the good, the bad, and the ugly. I cannot express how unbelievable the staff is. I am tearing up writing this review. Dr. Barr went out of her way many times to accommodate the needs of our old dog Scout. She very professionally diagnosed and treated the ailments of an aging dog. While caring for him she also took into consideration financial ramifications. She offered spot on advice when it eventually came to end of life decisions. She was able to comfort us and reassure we were making the right decision. Dr. Barr and an assistant eventually came to our house when it was time to euthanize our old guy. We couldn't have asked for a better experience in a difficult situation. Dr. Graf has also been great. Our 9 month old (at the time) dog Lincoln "consumed" the arm off a teddy bear and became very sick. When we took him in Dr. Graf immediately diagnosed the situation and informed us it was time for emergency surgery. They were able to surgically remove the teddy bear arm and Lincoln made a quick recovery. Other posts complain about costs. Owning a pet comes with a financial responsibility. We have never felt like we have been paying more at Tender Touch compared to other vets. We always recommend Tender Touch and will continue taking all of our animals there. Read Less

I cannot say enough good things about the vet and the staff here. We've primarily come here for simple procedures and vaccines. But the vet was also able to diagnose our dog's partially torn ACL which we had just assumed was arthritis. Thank god for the vet because we then pursued ACL surgery and he's back to walking and running like normal again. They've even called to follow up with us to see how our dog is doing. Read Less

I even board my cat here when I go on extended vacations, and they always greet her with excitement and tell me how much they love cuddling with her. I'm glad we went here for "Restaurant Week" when they had some really good specials. The food and service were both good, and probably worth the Restaurant Week price, but definitely not worth the regular menu price. I ordered a medium rare steak, and it was very tasty, however half of it was rare and half was medium rare. I'm not even sure how they did that, but considering that their regular menu price was around $70, it should had been perfect all the way through. Also, the server was very friendly but she didn't write anything down and seemed to make mistakes or forget things. For example, my wife ordered Clam Chowder but instead the server brought French Onion soup. She also forgot to pack up my left-overs (but managed to pack up the left-over cocktail sauce despite all of the shrimp being gone). I'd say that it would be worth going for Restaurant Week, but be careful to stick to their special menu. If you order anything off the regular menu you could easily double your bill. Read Less

If I could give 10 stars then I would. Tender Touch is the best animal hospital I have experienced in the 10 years of animal emergencies I have had. I am so unbelievably grateful to Dr. Barr on all her life-saving hard work with my Mr. Whiskers.I went to Denver Pet Urgent Care the night before who were atrocious, my 7 month old kitten was blocked and near death and they did nothing at all but a X-ray, told me he had bladder stones and would need surgery. First thing in the morning I started calling around and several friends recommended Tender Touch, I called their prices were reasonable and they were able to get him in right away. I packed up and headed down. When he got their, his heart beat was slow and his kidney levels were extremely high. They immediately got a catheter in him, ran blood work and started IV fluids. Since he was in such bad shape he needed to have fluids, the catheter and be monitored overnight. They sent his records to ACCESS emergency animal hospital who had the most reasonable prices for a overnight ER. First thing I picked him up and brought him back to Tender Touch. His blood work had normalized and he was stable and they got him into surgery right away.It's been a stressful ordeal, butt heir kindness, accuracy, detailed medical care was extraordinary and everyone there is all smiles, jokes, and you can tell it's alot of good compassionate people there. Just have to say, Thank you to the team at Tender Touch. I first brought my Chocolate Lab here for a routine check up/shots. The team from the front office to the tech and then the doctor really made my girl feel comfortable and gave me very clear and non-pushy options for different things she was needing. I really appreciate it guys. More recently, I have had bring our cat, Louie for some eye care needs. It was so severe that we risked losing his eye. Dr. Barr gave us a couple options and made us feel comfortable with the decision we made. Her swift action with treatment hopefully will help us save it. We have had amazing, caring experiences every time we've brought our dog in - if it's for a routine visit, or when something seems to be really wrong, they always fit us in, are so prompt with their service and are so sweet to our dog. We recently brought our dog in and within 45 minutes had a phone call with blood work results and had a great recommendation of what to do next. The vet (Dr Rose Barr) spoke with me, then my husband, and then with both of us over a conference call so we could really understand what was happening and what our options for next steps were. I was referred by a friend because the old vet I had i knew was giving me the wrong diagnosis for my pup and vastly overcharging me. The first visit here I was given the right information to make my dog well and they even gave me a free dose of pain meds for my pup to make it through to her next appt with a specialist. Everyone at TT is absolutely amazing!! Our pup does not like going to the vet at all and in the past has displayed aggressive behaviors. The staff at TT does everything in their power to lessen her anxiety and make her as comfortable as possible. As a result, she has not once displayed any aggressive behaviors while being examined at TT. This is the best she's ever done with any vet we've taken her to. Thank the doggy gods for this place. We had to rush our 4 month old puppy there when he started having seizures. I have never been so terrified in my life. They were so amazing to us. They were helpful and calm and knew exactly what to say to help us feel better. They kept us super informed and made sure we were kept in the loop the whole time. Everyone was so nice and helpful. They also have everything you could possibly want to help you relax while you're going through a stressful situation. They even called us the next day just to check in. I truly hope we never have to return there under the same circumstances but you best believe if it came down to it we would be there before anywhere else in a heartbeat.P.S. I would strongly urge you to ignore the few negative reviews for this place. They were very upfront with us on cost and assured us more than once if it wasn't something we could afford they would figure out a way to help us. Went in on a referral from a friend. They were so attentive and caring with my dog. I like that they sit on the floor with the animals while examining them and check you out in the exam room versus the front lobby. It helped keep my dog very calm. They loaded me up with a free sample chews for her and made many recommendations for safe dog treats. They also educated me on various vaccines and heartworm meds (I haven't owned a dog before) and made sure all my questions got answered. I'm a happy customer! Read Less

Omg! This place is amazing! Wish I could give more than 5 stars!. We have been taking our 5 month old puppy here since she was an infant and every experience has been truly wonderful. The staff technicians and doctors are all super friendly fun and professional! Not to mention a clean fun cozy Lil place. There wellness plans are super affordable and really cover almost everything. I mean everything. The longest we ever had to wait to see our doctor from walking in the door to getting a room and having our appointment was about......8 or so minutes. I must say, I have always been an "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" kind of guy when it came to taking Lucy to the vet. So over the 4 years of being in Denver we have only been there a handful of times. When things finally got serious and I knew it was "time", is when I really realized how much they really care about their clients. I called just as they were closing and they told me they would stay open for me if I think I needed to come in that night. What I thought was going to be one of the most traumatizing experiences of my life wound up being more of a relief than I could have imagined. They let me take my time saying my goodbyes and made me feel really comfortable that I was making the right decision. I couldn't have asked for any better treatment in that situation. Be careful when you take your pets here! We used to take our dog to Tender Touch and when she tore her ACL, they gave us an anti inflammatory to help with her pain. Unfortunately, they mislabeled the bottle and accidentally directed us to give her twice the recommended dosage. This resulted in a battery of stomach issues that Tender Touch charged us thousands to diagnose and treat, but never fixed.When we took our dog to another vet, they immediately recognized the dosage issue. I called Tender Touch to look into how this happened, and they never called me back to follow up. It's been almost a year. Now that we don't spend our money on their overpriced services, it doesn't seem they care that they almost killed our little girl.Beware the high prices and potentially incorrect medication labels at Tender Touch. Bottom line: there are better vets in Denver. We switched to Park Hill Veterinary and were very pleased.I give them 2 stars because the staff are very nice and pleasant to work with, and the doctors were always willing to give us advice over the phone. I've been going to Tender Touch for years and love them. But what really stands out for me is their knowledge and compassion when the going gets rough - for both the pet and for their human. My two dogs reached old age under their care, and the staff has been so incredibly caring. The "it's time to have the geriatric dog" conversation with Dr. Graf far exceeded what I've observed many human MDs to be capable of. I am absolutely so thankful for this hospital! Every single staff member is extremely caring and compassionate towards the animals and owners. My dog ended up with ER surgery due to an obstruction in his stomach. They treated him like a king. I couldn't be more greatful for Barr. She went above and beyond. I just moved to Denver and took my dog to Tender Touch based on online reviews, and I am so happy that I did! I was happy with my visit from the moment I walked in the door; the entire facility is clean and modern, and the staff were all super friendly. Dr. Somerville was excellent, she did a great job making Thor feel comfortable and explaining everything to me clearly. She didn't seem at all in a hurry to get us out the door like some of our previous vets have. I thought it was really cool that I could pay for the visit without even leaving the exam room (read: no standing at the receptionist counter trying to write a check and hold the 80lb dog's leash at the same time), and that they called the next day to check on Thor. They also give each owner access to a 'pet portal' online, where you can see your pets records, make appointments, and search pet health issues. Very cool vet, I'm really happy with them! Read Less

I've been using Tender Touch for over 6 years now and have never had a bad experience. Dr. Steele is the owner and she is always my first pick but I frequently go the other veterinarians when she is not available and have always been very happy. In fact, when my sister had to put her cat down Dr. Graf could not have been more compassionate and caring during a time when my sister was losing her first baby and when I had to put my dog down Dr. Hazelwood and Dr. Steele really helped me through my pain. Christie who has been there for years is wonderful and anytime she answers the phone you know you will get the best customer service. Tender Touch not only provides excellent veterinary care, but they also really know how to address behavioral concerns as at one time I needed a lot of help in this area too. Nobody is perfect especially when it comes to the care of your pets and children, but Tender Touch is about as close as it gets and I recommend them to everyone that I know! Read Less

After a very bad experience at the Cat Hospital of Denver at 425 Acoma, I found Tender Touch. Everyone, from the staff to the vets are extremely pleasant and genuinely caring. I had may cat Sam for over 15 years when he began to experience renal failure. Dr. Monica was very understanding and helped me treat Sam and give him a few more months. When the time came and I decided it was time to put him down, she was very compassionate and comforting, making the process as easy as possible. They even sent a condolence card a week or so later. I was recommended to this vet by a co-worker. I can honestly say that the staff at Tender Touch is the most caring i've ever encountered. They gave me great pointers on how to train my new puppy. My dog has never seemed scared or uncomfortable at this vet. When you go into the examining room the assistance and doctors get down on the floor with your dog! I was amazed at this. Every other vet that I have been to puts your animal on a cold metal table and don't really interact with them. They also always make a next day follow up call to make sure your pet is doing okay. I was recommended to use Tender Touch by a close friend and trusted fellow animal lover. Took my 2 cats there and everything went great. Until one of them ended up getting sick. I will not go into extreme detail but will just say that I was not happy with the way they handled his illness and subsequent death. I wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt however. So I wrote them a letter with my feelings and was very surprised that they did not even have the decency or care enough to respond.
