Earlier in the year my dog had a surgery and was stuck with the cone, she continued to get the cone off even when kenneled, the vet on two occasions told me to stop taking the cone off or her wound would not heal, even though I told her I did not take the cone off. Today I had taken off work to have all my pets have an annual and get their shots, I was called as I was getting into the car with 3 animals and advised they had to cancel with no options but I could call around and find another vet. The end of life care for my dog ruined VCA for us. I've taken my pets here since before they moved to this location. The doctors and techs were always great and we didn't mind paying top dollar for their service. But then Thurber was diagnosed with bone cancer and everything fell apart. He was in a ton of pain. We called once to refill his pain meds and another time with urgent questions. Both times it took 48 hours to get a response from a doctor. When Thurber finally passed, they sent his ashes to VCA with a note asking them to call us. No call. I finally stopped in and they were just sitting there, and I'm guessing we never would have gotten a call. We found a new vet for our other dog and cat. Read Less

Likely because they were absorbed or a part of the VCA, this clinic is tragically overpriced. I had a coupon for a complimentary first visit for TWO dogs. On the coupon there is no mention that both pets have to come in at the same time. I was told that they would honor the two pets so when I brought in my second they tried explaining that I could not do that. After expressing my unhappiness, the vet tech said she would talk to the vet and come back and let me know. The next person that came in was the vet. My assumption was that they were honoring the coupon. They were not. When I checked out and was told the charge, I questioned it. Dr Garner came out and basically challenged my version of events. The tech was dishonest in her version of the events. Their base price for an exam is almost double what other vets charge. Not only did I leave with a very bad taste in my mouth but I also feel I was disrespected and my version of what took place was in question. I do not recommend them. They are more concerned with making a buck then taking care of pets. Read Less

Don't recommend this hospital all they want is to rip you off. And put your pets though more pain. I took my dog her because my very vet was closed at the time that I needed my dog to be looked at and I didn't want to make my dog wait. So I took my dog here because she had a very bad infection in on of her anal glands and she's never had this problem so I didn't know what to do and I took her here. The vet didn't explain to me what she was really gona do and why. all she did was give me the runaround and it just sounded like she just wants to experiment with my dogs ass. So I left and by that time my vet was open and I had previously made an apt with them the day before just incase. Well, little did I know that this place called my vet and cancel my apt when I left. What gives them the right to cancel my apt. I did not ask them to do this, so when I talked to my vet about it he was nice enough to see my dog anyways and she was taken care of. Thank god for vets who actually care about Animas and don't just wanna rip people off and hurt Animas in the process. Long story short I'm never taking my dog here againRead Less

For example, it would be helpful to have a little more of a heads up of what to expect after an appointment. At my last visit my pet got his rabies vaccination. I took my seven year old cat, Louie, who has allergies, to VCA Park Hill. We had been there before and Dr. Blum was fantastic is treating Louie and discussing different methods to treat his allergies. I returned due to what I expected as another allergic reaction to something. We did not see Dr. Blum this time, and the vet we saw was more concerned with getting his teeth brushed and putting him on a hypoallergenic diet that costs nearly $70 for an 8 lb bag. After spending $100 for a visit and medication Louie is in the same condition as he was when I took him in. It turns out that the problem was a yeast infection in his ear, which should have been easily diagnosed by a trained veterinarian. When I complained about the lack of treatment from VCA, I was emailed the notes from our visit as if to prove that my pet received adequate care, and to discredit my claim. I would not take any pet that I love to this clinic ever again. It appears to me as if they are more about up selling rather than treating the matter at hand. Read Less

The team at VCA Park Hill is outstanding-- we're sad to be leaving them, due to a move. They always know our pup's name as soon as we walk in. We had an emergency situation on a Friday evening and they made sure that they squeezed him in so we wouldn't have to go to a different vet and took us into the back so we could take a look at the Xrays and hang with our pup at the same time. On Saturday, while we were still monitoring his condition, we had a 30 minute conversation about symptoms and whether or not we should come back in (and eventually did). But they took care of us....always have. Their facilities are clean, their staff is nice, and they always have human treats (chips, drinks, etc.) ready to go. The ONLY down side is price-- they're a little pricey and try to up-sell you (but you should take control and just tell them 'No') Overall, I would recommend them.Read Less

I love VCA Park Hill. I know that many people think it's expensive, however, they have been nothing but good to my family and our pets. JB even orders our pet food for us once a month - without me having to call him. The doctors are wonderful but for me, the customer service is exceptional and that's why we keep going back. Read Less

Read Less

Absolutely terrible customer service! I felt like a criminal as I took in my puppy for his first visit and was immediately greeted by the rudest receptionist I have ever encountered!! I was rushed in and out, for a "Wellness exam" that was merely listening to my dog breathing for two seconds that cost over a $100! Never bring your animal here unless you don't care about them!

From having to put down my husbands cat, dealing with my delicate constitution Shi Tzu and on to my one eyed Lhasa with arthritis. They are very helpful and answer all my questions. JB even orders our pet food for us once a month - without me having to call him. The doctors are wonderful but for me, the customer service is exceptional and that's why we keep going back. Read Less
