Very compassionate staff! Last fall we were faced with having to put down our 11 year old boxer. The staff was very compassionate on this difficult final journey. Charged $800 for an enema for a cat when the quote was for $380, then they took $100 off and made it seem like they were doing us a favor. A month later our cat was dying (not their fault) and we called to ask if we could bring him in right away to ease his suffering, but was told they only have openings for emergencies. If dying isn't an emergency, what is??? We called Compassion Animal Hospital in Woodland Park and they told us they'd get us in right away, even though we've never been there before. And they were very compassionate. They will be our first choice for all our vet needs in the future. Read Less

I have taken a cat and a dog there in the past week. We are establishing care here for our 5 pets. We are new to the area and are looking for a replacement for a well loved & trusted previous vet clinic. I have been very impressed by my experiences so far. The staff is very caring and nice. Our KleeKai suddenly decided she didn't want us trimming her nails, so it took 3 staff members to do that for us. Dr. Lemons fell in love with our drama queen while helping out! We had a wonderful experience. They got us in last second when we were worried about our kitty! They have amazing customer service, everyone is so friendly and they called to check up on our kitty the day after our appointment too. They also have a very nice, clean office and when we came they had a sign welcoming us with ours and our cat's name on it even though this was our first appointment with them and it was last second! Bad experience! Not only is Teller Park Veterinary Service way more expensive than other veterinary services in town, their lack of experience and incompetence made my dog needlessly suffer with two side effects that brought more co-pays and more prescription cost over their already expensive previous charges. We ended up taking our dog to a reputable veterinary clinic in town that quickly identified the problem as infection caused from the extraction of 4 teeth in the dental surgery and the lack of antibiotics that Teller Park Veterinary Service neglected to prescribe. The new vet was shocked by what we were charged by Teller Park Veterinary Service for the services we received and puzzled why they didn't prescribe antibiotics? According to the new vet, infection is very common after dental surgery and that's consistent with what our out of state veterinary friends are saying that they "wouldn't have even considered sending a patient home after dental surgery or cleanings without antibiotics!" This also coincides with our past experience with the same issue. We've had dental surgery on our dog before at our old vet that cleaned and pulled 7 teeth and they prescribed antibiotics, and it was half the price of Teller Park Veterinary Service with no side effects, extra cost or suffering. At the end of the day, the new vets co-pay and prescription cost combined was less than Teller Park Veterinary Service's co-pay alone and my dog finally got some much needed relief. Never going back to Teller Park Veterinary Service again! We felt nickeled and dimed to death , ripped off and suffered because of their incompetence, it was just awful all the way around! Read Less

Bad experience! Their incompetence caused my dog to suffer from infections in her mouth after dental surgery because they neglected to prescribe antibiotics, plus she got bloody diarrhea from the stress from these people. They are also very expensive compared to more reputable, more experienced vets. We ended up taking our dog elsewhere to get proper care for a lot less. Read Less

My dog April is truly my baby. When we found out I could not have children she came into our home and has provided more love than I could ever have expected. When she became very sick last weekend I was beside myself. I called Teller Park and they were so kind. I brought our baby in and the staff was beyond amazing. They were not at all upset when she had an accident in the floor. Both the nurse and the Vet got in the floor with us. They made a follow up call to check on her. Our big black Lab Brew loves to go to the vet now. He was adopted at 12 years old and really was not too excited about his first visit. Dr. Lemons made him comfortable by greeting him on his level on the floor and he has loved her ever since. She Is the quickest and sneakiest at doing blood draws that I have ever seen :) He came with a few health issues which we are still working on but thanks to her knowledge and persistence we are moving forward .Brew loves his vet visits. Dr. Lemons was almost an hour behind on an appointment for my cat, periscope. She charged me $20 to trim my cats nails, yet only clipped her front paws. The customer service at this establishment is terrible and one of the receptionists is incredibly nosey and downright creepy. For the record, It is socially unacceptable to bring religion into casual conversation with my husband while charging his credit card. Dr. Lemons and the rest of the staff are second to none! They all care, as if your pet is their family too. Dr. Lemons has laughed and cried with us through the lives of 6 of our pets and the deaths of 4. She has bent over backwards to be available, even on holidays and Sundays. Dr. Lemons was been the gentlest, most caring vet with our high maintenance rescue Thor, whose prior vet visits elsewhere entailed being held down by 5 techs/vets to get a blood draw, be muzzled and tranq'd. She took the time to sit on the floor with him, with treats, and no muzzle or tranqs, giving him a full exam, shots and take a sample of a lump. She requested that she had the chance to get to know him without medication. No one has given this boy a better vet experience....it truly was a beautiful thing. Dr. Lemons has a true love for our pets and the career that she has chosen. Dr. Lemons and her staff have an apparent respect for each other, which is refreshing to see. Her staff has always been friendly and helpful, even taking the time to answer questions or concerns over the telephone. We've taken our same two dogs (Buddy the yellow lab and Jake the mini Aussie) to Dr. Lemons for over 10 years. We even had to make a midnight emergency run when Jake got to close to a baby porcupine. Dr. Lemon's style of working with animals has evolved over these years in some very positive ways. She no longer uses an exam table for routine checkups and shots. Instead, she sits on the floor and works with the dogs down at their level, playing with them as she checks them out and gives them shots. While on a weekend getaway, our dog wasn't acting like himself. After realizing he was sicker than we thought, we quickly Googled the nearest veterinarian which brought us to Teller Park. The staff was amazing, to say the least. They saw our pup right away and made us feel welcome and comfortable; they made us coffee, played with our daughter and gave her a cute stuffed animal while we spoke to the vet. We had our adopted puppy spayed here as it was included with our adoption fee. I must say that the office staff were really nice and I thought they did a great job with the surgery. They did not push all of the "additional services" that most vets push but they recommended pain medication for our puppy, which was less than $20. They called a few days later to check on her and update her chart. Overall, a fabulous experience and I would recommend them if you are in the area.Read Less
