My dogs prescription for her incontinence had run out.It was my first time to this vet clinic. This would be the third vet I have had to take her to over the last few years, to refill her prescription. My job takes us to many states. Each vet automatically did lab work on her when her time came to re-up her prescription. I came to this vet because they had decent reviews. After discussing her prescription refill and a little skin tag on her eyelid, they came out with an estimate for $2000. They never did any lab work or bloodwork, just said they were giving me the prescription for her. I thought that was strange, but I thought theyβre giving me the prescription so I guess were OK. All of the rest of the bill was for dental cleaning, which I never asked about, removing fatty lumps which I already explained to them had been tested on by other vets and was just fat that can occur to spayed female her age. In all they were trying to remove two or three lumps, clean her teeth, have me pay for an anesthesiologist, surgery, and taking off a little skin tag on her eye. So suddenly my expected $150-$200 visit turned into $2000. She had a major surgery done one year before that cost the same amount of money, there is no way itβs that expensive just to remove a little skin tag and not touch the fatty lumps that I didnβt want removed to start with. They are not getting bigger and they do not bother her. When I found out they were only going to give me 15 pills of her prescription, which was why they didnβt run any tests on her, I was extremely irritated. I did not realize that was their plan they never said that. I was expecting to have lab work done and to get at least six months if not more of the prescription filled. Now instead I have to come back and pay a second doctors fee, to get the rest of her prescription filled and then lab work done. I decided I was going to use a pharmacy that I use that usually A little more affordable. The vet told me the pharmacy had to reach out to them, but the pharmacy told me the vet had to reach out to the pharmacy or else they cannot fill the prescription which makes sense. So I called the veterinary office after already being irritated finding out Iβm only getting 15 pills not six months worth, and explain the pharmacy needs them to reach out. A woman name Amy argued with me on the phone that we never discussed lab work, that I only mentioned I needed a new prescription, and that the pharmacy would have to be the one to reach out to them. Why else would I show up for the prescription and not expect lab work? I didnβt realize I need to tell them specifically how to do their job, when as mentioned before none of my other vets ever did that. So we finally figured something out for the prescription and I was able to take some home. The whole ordeal ended up going back-and-forth and taking four hours out of my day. Amy continued to have excuses and debate back-and-forth with me, she also tried to say it took her an hour and a half on the phone with the pharmacy I guess to guilt me. Thatβs nothing compared to the irritation of me going back-and-forth to the vets office over the course of four hours. Since Iβm not able to afford $2000 for A simple skin tag removal that I did not know I was going to need, they referred me to pet aid. After speaking to pet aid they told me I need the vet to once again fax them the referral. After just getting off the phone with this veterinary hospital they are arguing with me that pet aid has to fax them a referral form. Amy went and put a different manager on the phone who said it is their policy that pet aid must fax them their referral. So once again Iβm being sent back-and-forth. I donβt understand why A vet would not want to reach out to the people theyβre referring customers to or why they would not want to reach out to The pharmacy to give them a prescription. I called pet aid once again, and the woman adamantly said to me that the doctor has to Go on their website to email them, or fax them a form. She also sounded irritated At how this vet handles things. Read Less
