So they told us to bring her back in a couple of days so we made Arrangements to take her then they called to reschedule her appointment during this reschedule time 3 of her nails broke because they didn't get her in when she needed so just had to take her to a great place that we love not to far away for a emergency visit and the took care of everything for us and the price was great for emergency visits this will be are new vet from now on so sad because I loved them at 1st but can't deal with thus any more not everyone has the time and money for that mess.... Where do I even begin. My dog was diagnosed with a chicken allergy at Erie Animal Hospital months ago. Last week he got sick and we took him in; we were given bland food that we were told would be safe for him to eat. We even watched a nurse check the ingredients. We thought, "well, they checked at the vet so this food is clearly safe". Nope. His condition began a steep decline- vomiting, pain, etc. Checked the ingredients and there is chicken in the food. He is VERY allergic and they KNEW THAT. Their negligence could have cost him his life. We took him to a different vet and decided the best route was to immediately do emergency surgery to remove a foreign object. When our new vet tried to obtain his charts from Erie Animal Hospital, Erie said they would send them in 3 business days. REALLY?????? Luckily with a couple urgent phone calls, our new vet was able to obtain his info from Erie Animal Hospital. I'm blown away by the negligence of Erie Animal Hospital. I almost lost my dog. Please, please do your research when choosing a vet. Please think twice about taking your pet here. I wouldn't wish any of this on another pet owner. Read Less

We have been taking our pets to Erie Animal Hospital for the past couple years and I have been nothing but impressed with everyone at the office. We've brought both our rescue puppies to EAH from day one and the people there seem to appreciate and care for our pets just as much as we do. They have two DR's (Towner & Clements) and whether it's planned or not they both seem to look at many issues involving the dogs from two different perspectives. We asked about optional vaccines and getting our newest puppy's rear dew claws removed and both docs gave us their honest opinions which weren't always the same. My wife and I feel that even though it can be a little contradictory it gives us both sides of any given issue and allows us to make an informed decision on care for our dogs. Their vet assistants are absolutely the best as well and are always friendly with the pets and professional with the humans. Super grateful that we have such a reliable veterinary facility right down the street from us. Read Less

I recently stopped taking my dog to Erie Animal because of their lack of organization. I have a new puppy, now 10 months old, who I started taking to Erie the month that I brought him home. Several times I brought my pup into the office for scheduled shots and the people administering asked me what vaccination he was receiving that day. Isn't that for them to know, not me? I didn't get a good feel from the office or from the people working there. One doctor told me not to start heart worm medication because my pup still had his mother's antibodies helping him. I am writing this in memory of our precious Daisy. She was a healthy, happy & loving little girl. But all of that changed on June 6th, when she was given her rabies & 6 in 1 vaccines. Our dogs have never tolerated these. Hives, swollen face, eyes & ears. But this time the nightmare worsened. When I got her home she collapsed & was breathing very shallow. In all my eight years at Erie Animal Hospital, I was never told that these shots could become deadly, nor was I ever told that it would be in their best interest to stop them, due to the reactions they experienced, especially at their age. (11 years). To some dogs these shots are as lethal as the one given to Daisy on June 22nd. The day we had to make the decision to let her go. I live with guilt, regret & a heavy heart, knowing I was her voice. She was telling me each time her little body could not tolerate the poison that was being injected in her. After her death I received an e-mail from the vet , Stating they stand behind the manufacture of these vaccines. That was never my concern. I want others to know that if your pet does not tolerate these, please stop allowing them to be given. Find a vet who is willing to listen to your concerns, & the well being of your pet not just the money you bring to their business. Be their advocate. If your child was allergic to something, would you continue allowing it to be given... Then why should we be expected to continue giving such to our animals. If Daisy's story can save the lives of others, like herself, who could tolerate these, then her story was a success. Read Less

We have had to bring our dog in quite a few times (he is an accident prone dog) and we are so thankful to have Erie right around the corner.  Every time we come in everyone is friendly and does everything they can to make you and your pet feel comfortable.  Everyone employed at this establishment is professional and always there to provide you with any information you may need (which was good for us because we were first time dog owners).  We also brought our dog to the puppy training classes that were directed by Diana.  Taking classes at Erie helped our dog have a healthy relationship with the vet.  Before the classes he would run in the opposite direction when he'd see where we were going, and now he is eager to get inside and see what's going on. If anyone is looking for great service, and a trustworthy, compassionate group of people, Erie is definitely your place! Read Less

This clinic for cats and dogs is led by Dr. Sally Towner.  Dr. Towner is every pet lover's type of doctor. She's knowledgeable, practical with her advice and bluntly compassionate.  She is supported by a caring, pleasant staff.  Recently we visited because our older dog stopped eating suddenly, seemed overly lethargic and was barely drinking water.  So alarmed we called Monday morning, and they got us in within hours, and got us the information we needed--not great.  However the course of treatment advised has gotten our most precious, special little dog feeling so much better.   We are so grateful to have Erie Animal Hospital nearby.  You will be too when your Fido or Sassy aren't feeling well or just need a check-up. It has been a few years since we have been back to the Erie Animal Hospital but our last two visits there have been great. The doctors have been very straight forward with  options and recommendations regarding my dogs well being. I am thankful to find a Vet clinic that wants to take all options into consideration. Great people and good care! Only problem was the cost. It was twice as expensive to have my cat x-rayed at the vet as it was to have my daughter x-rayed at the MD. The blood work was ~ 150$ and I just had a full blood workup at my MD for 40$. This cost inflation is a industry wide problem, but this vet is on the higher end.

Read Less

Our dogs were sick and we needed help. The Vet, who did not introduce herself, was judgmental and rude. We love our pets and take very good care of them. We won't go back there ever.

I've only had to come in a few times, thankfully, but every time we've come in, everything has been wonderful (you know, for a trip to the vet). A regular exam for her to look at my cat was $8. X-rays are only $100. They're very prompt and attentive and kind to the animals. The veterinarian explains things in a way that anyone can understand. Read Less
