I would recommend no one go to Carbon Valley Animal Hospital! Adira went in to get groomed and the groomer cut her and they said it wasn’t bad. She had to wait 2 hours to see doctor then we get there and see what they did to her. They try to still charge us for her haircut. Me and Kira both did not agree with it and refused. They sent us to back room to talk to doctor and all she says is it’s just a dog and it’s like a paper cut! I said I’ve never gotten 3 stitches for a paper cut. The doctor gets mad and says fine your fired your fired and says to leave. So we walk out to pay for other dogs and they bring out papers what we should do for Adira and since we refused to pay they didn’t give us the medication for her wound. Carbon valley animal hospital is the most unprofessional place and would not recommend them! You would think that since they cut our dog a she had to wait 2 hours and get 3 stitches and now has to be watched for 2 weeks would say hey it’s only $40 we should give them this cut for free since what we did to her. Dr. Lasa was awful to us after they cut my dogs leg. She went for a haircut and they cut her so bad that she needed stitches. After this they tell us that she needs pain killers, and then they expected us to pay for those painkillers and the haircut. We were treated so poorly and Dr. Lasa and she was so rude, when we are argueing with her she even said “it’s just a dog!” My dog has been limping since their mistake, and I’m concerned they hurt her tendon. I do not recommend this Animal Clinic to any fellow dog owner. But, I will say, Dr.Bags has always treated my dogs with love and kindness. Read Less

Just 6 hours ago, I had to say goodbye to my best friend; Piper. She wasn't around our household for very long, almost 2 years, and she was only 8 and a half years old. Here I am; 16 years old, finally learning real pain. I chose to sit there, and watch my dog put to sleep before my very eyes. I couldn't stop crying, I was in heartbreak. Hating myself, because I wish I could've done more to help. But we couldn't, her medical issues were going downhill and we were very tight on money. No matter what us and the staff tried, we couldn't find the best results. I didn't want her to suffer any further, so we did what had to be done. Speaking of the staff; they were so kind and nice to us. They gave Piper treats, they gave me moments alone with Piper, they allowed me to stay and hold her as she gave her last breaths as she died in seconds. They gave me quite some time alone after that. As soon as they left the room? I broke down... Crying, loudly, as I gripped onto Piper tightly. One Staff Members walked in after the 5 minute request was over. They must've saw me; crying, soaked with tears, sobbing loudly. In that case, I received more time alone. It eventually became 20 minutes as it was finally time to go home with our dog. Overall; the Staff was so nice and kind after seeing and knowing what I was going through. It's been 6 hours, and Im still tearing up on occasions. I would like to just take this moment to thank all of the Staff who work here; they're very nice, and they really do their best to help. From checking on your pet, helping your pet, or allowing you to say goodbye to your pet and see them. For the very last time. Again. Thank you Staff Members, so much. I brought my pet dragon in here for a check up. I told the vet that for the last week Porker, my dragon, had not been able to spit fire at a distance of 100 ft. Instead he only spits fire 10 ft and instead of the flames being white hot they are green! Green what the heck does that mean?! The vet told me that he could solve the problem and he took porky and told me to stand back. He then proceeded to grab a vial of something red and then told me that this particular medicine had to be exposed to a very powerful centripetal force in order to activate the healing property. The vet started to rotate. 50rpm... 60rmp... 100rpm....300rmp! 900rpm!! 10rps!!!!!! 100rps!!!!!!!! Bomb! He stoped and held aloft the vial. It was no longer red but a royal purple he pored it into porkies mouth and wooosh!! White hot flames spurted from his mouth. The vet and I laughed in unison and then went our separate ways leaving a towering pillar of smoke and a raging fire in our wake. All in all a great experience! I would come back again! Read Less

We have used these vets for sometime and they have been good with our dogs, professional and thoughtful when we had to put down our greyhound. Like all vets it can get spendy but they do try their best to keep costs down and discuss all treatments medically and financially before initiating. The only issue with them is that they are not set up for long term boarding, do not have a run or large cages.Read Less

This is the second vet I've tried in the area; and was so happy that we gave them a shot. They were able to provide a same day appointment to see my dog for an urgent appointment. Dr. Bagg was very patient as the history of my dog's illness was explained, and he took time to look through the medical records I brought to the appointment. He was compassionate, understanding and respected my opinion and request. He provided a thorough exam and course of treatment and asked that we bring our dog back for a re-check (surprisingly the re-check was free!). Will be trying the boarding services too! I normally do not write bad reviews. In this case, I'm obligated to inform ALL pet lovers my experience here that spans 10 years. I don't even think they deserve any stars. First, the rude tech gave me a gut feeling to check her out and I discovered she is not a tech she's an assistant tech huge difference, I also found she has a criminal background. They prescribed my cat metacam that was too high for a cat which can lead to heart failure, she did pass away. My other cat had a mass on his thyroid which was removed. I was never told it was cancer and the paperwork shows lymphoma and he passed from cancer last night. Read Less

The staff was nice, but it concerns me when a vet who says she has large bread dogs didn't seem to know how much protein a puppy or our bread should be taking in, doesn't think puppy's have growing pain, the techs were so excited to see a puppy because they don't get to see puppy's!!!! I took my dog in for a check for surgery to get a 2nd price option after going to another wonderful clinic. The staff is amazing and super sweet and took great care of my girl. Their price was over $200 less expensive and they did the procedure right away. I have talked to the staff twice in the 2 days since then and they genuinely care. We've had a real mixed bag at this vet, unfortunately. Dr Bagg is someone who I'd recommend, and if you only see him it's probably worth going. However Dr. Ukrainchuk appears to have the "bed side" manners of Josef Mengele. We used to go to this facility regularly when we lived in Firestone, but once we moved out to Mead we started going to a traveling vet. Since she stopped traveling, we decided to go back here instead of trying a new vet.We just got a new kitten from a friend of my wives friend who isn't a very responsible pet owner, so we got one of the kittens before it went to the shelter (or worse), and had a pretty good infection going on. So as mentioned above my wife and daughter took the new kitten here, instead of our regular vet. Dr. Ukrainchuk walked into the exam room and was telling my wife and daughter to "take the cat back", it's got a very "nasty" virus that if you bring it back to the house will put all of our other pets in danger. She wouldn't tell my wife what the name of the virus was, just insisted it was "nasty". My daughter was pretty much in tears, as this was her new kitten. My wife did convince Dr. Ukrainchuk to give her medication to treat the kitten- and as it turns out it was even the right medication, so there is that.My wife decided to go get a 2nd opinion and drove 45 min's to where our current vet is setting up a new office. After she examined the kitten, she told my wife it was nothing out of the ordinary, and is pretty common in "barn" kittens (essentially what this cat was), that the medicine we got was the same she would have given, and that it is very unlikely our other cat would catch this virus as it was already likely exposed to it (stray cat that adopted us) and therefor immune, and our dogs were in zero danger.So, while all well that ends well we won't be going back to this facility, even though we do like Dr. Bagg - he took great care of our pets before. I absolutely love Carbon Valley Animal Hospital! The staff is friendly, very knowledgeable, and they provide a welcoming atmosphere for pets and their owners! For nearly 3 decades we've brought our animals to CVAH for medical care and grooming, and been 100% satisfied each visit! Recently we brought our 5 month old kitten, who had an ongoing cold. Dr. Abernathy was phenomenal! She spent quality time examining him while being so caring and compassionate! This is the most incompetent veterinarian I have every met. When bringing in a dog who was not eating, not messing and had lost 40 lbs in one week (150 to 110) the vets biggest concern was putting the dog on oral pain killers for what he diagnosed. The intestinal blockage (diagnosed by a different clinic) later proved to be fatal. So thank you for absolutely nothing. Read Less

My dog had severe Diarrhea and was also vomiting on top of that, I called my regular Vet that I have been very loyal to for years and was not able to get in.I decided to call Carbon Valley and they were able to get my dog in immediately.When we walked in we were greeted by the receptionist who was very professional and friendly with a nice smile. The Nurse that did the preliminary questioning and temperature etc. was also very nice and easy to talk to. Charlie, my dog was seen by Dr Ukrainchuk and I have nothing but nice things to say about her, she was very thorough with her exam and questioning and suggested that I allow her to do X-rays and Blood work, which are done on site so that there is no waiting game for the laboratory, however she gave me a CHOICE we could have started with medications to treat for a stomach upset, she also made sure that I knew all the prices for the testing so I would not get a big surprise when checking out. I chose to do the whole work up. it took all together about 25 minutes to get it all done.By the end of the visit I knew the results of the blood work and x-rays. Luckily it turned up that most likely Charlie got into something and had a nasty stomach upset, I also learned that he had higher then usual liver values, because of the blood work I am now able to treat Charlie for his liver issue with food and supplements and hopefully stop the liver from getting any worse. I have decided that I will no longer take Charlie to his regular vet and will make Carbon Valley his permanent Veterinarian.The Doctor was very gentle with my Charlie and so was the nurse and the receptionist . I also had the opportunity to meet Dr Bagg tour the Hospital and found out that they also have a groomer on staff as well as Boarding which is good to know if I want to go on Vacation. Dr. Bagg has been our vet for about 7 years now, we groom our dogs there and board them at times. The care is so much better than the big chain care I got from Petsmart! Dr. Bagg has raised Shelties so of course I want to take mine to him, and our Sheltie/Collie that we rescued. I haven't found the fees to be any more than any vet other than the Walmart version of vet care, and the staff know and love our dogs.We had to finally give up on a couple of our big ol' mutts a couple of years ago, I was a wreck but they were so kind at Carbon Valley in all that sadness. We take all of our animals there and would never go anywhere else, they truly care for the well being of our animals and answer any and all questions we have ever had. I love CVAH. The service is impeccable. Dr. Bagg is wonderful.He is so thoughtful and caring, he takes the time to talk with you about all of your treatment options and what is worth it or not. He doesn’t treat you like your crazy for worrying about your animals. They don’t try to charge you for procedures you don’t really need. When you walk in everybody greets you, Christina the receptionist is very helpful and goes out of her way to find what you need. My favorite Vet Tech Rossi is wonderful with Kitty; Kitty is my 8-year-old pit bull that can't enter the hospital due to seizures. The entire staff takes care of him out front, in the car, on the lawn whatever my dog needs he gets. Everyone is gentle and loving. They take the time to follow up on your pet and make sure they are doing well.I can’t say thank them enough for all they have done for kitty. I wouldn’t trust my animals with anybody else. When I adopted my puppy from Lifeline Puppy Rescue, I chose this vet off the list. I was given a puppy check up visit for free. When my sister in law was given a new puppy told her about my vet. She asked if I could bring her dog to the vet for her since she was working. I called Carbon Valley and I said literally, " We were given a new puppy and I am wondering if you will do a free visit for her." The person who answered the phone said "yes, we do new puppy exams" and made the appointment the same day. When I went to leave the receptionist said, "You still have to pay." I told her I don't understand, I had called and they told me the first visit is free because I said free in my question and the answer was yes.... simply yes... not yes but only for shelter adopeted puppies...., the "nurse" came out of the back room and said she didn't remember me saying given to us..... None the less they charged me $52.00 for the puppies first visit because they only give free 1st check ups when a dog is adopted from a shelter... It's not like I bought the dog from a breeder or anything. They should have told me that on the phone, they should have asked, "Did you get the dog from a shelter?" to which I would have replied, "No." and they should have told me about the charge and I could have told my sister in law to go to another vet, no harm, no foul. I guess I should have lied after they lied about not hearing me correctly on the phone and just told them I got the dog from a shelter...... They just lost two clients.... Read Less

Lesya Ukrainchuk, DVM, is the new vet here. DO NOT SEE HER!!! Today, she dragged my 9 year old arthritic and injured choc lab mix, who was scared already due to her horrible accent and icy vibe, across the tile floor as I was yelling,""She will walk if you let her!!"" She didn't even give my old girl a command or a little tug, just yanked her by her neck across the floor, making her slip and fall as she dragged her! I yanked that leash from her hands as fast as I could and told her to never touch my dog again (or any of the 4 other pets I take there). DO NOT LET THIS WOMAN NEAR YOUR PETS!! SHE IS HORRIBLE! If my poor dog didn't need surgery today, I would have left with her right then and there. Thank goodness they have Dr. Bagg to take care of my pet - He's a good man! Read Less
