I heard good things about this place, so I decided to bring my dogs here for a routine yearly vet visit a few years ago and I still haven’t forgotten the negative experience we had here. The front desk was great, but I can’t believe how rude one of the techs here was to my husband and I, for no apparent reason. The tech was an older woman in her 40s or 50s. She was mean, constantly sarcastic with a bad attitude, and even went out of her way to make digs at our breed choice and our pups. Seriously, who does that? It was unprofessional, but we just kept a polite face and ignored her, hoping it’s just one bad employee experience to suffer through, and that once the vet came in the exam room, the tech would hopefully tend to other clients or another one would come in. What really mattered to us was the vet and quality of the exam anyway, so we sat and waited through it. The vet/owner came in, and I couldn’t believe how rude and condescending she was too! She is a breeder and show person, so she too started to make fun of our breed choice, and started talking about her breed and dogs in the show circuit and her various accomplishments. We couldn’t care less about any of that. The rude tech never left either, she just stood there and the two bounced rude glances and comments off one another, so we had to sit through a double whammy of inflated egos and narcissism. She finally examined our dogs, and at this point, it was no surprise when the vet tried to up-sell us on spending more money on unnecessary, expensive “just in case” exams that we knew weren’t needed. Keep in mind this was also right after their new building finished construction. She mentioned earlier in our conversation how expensive it was to build her new space as she was bragging about her dogs in the ring. My husband and I looked at each other and felt like she was raising funds to pay for her new building when she suggested all the hundreds of dollars worth of tests and exams (for healthy pups, no less), just based on what their breed “could” be susceptible to. We kindly declined, and decided to take our dogs elsewhere at that point. When we walked out, the same rude tech followed us out to the reception area, where she kept making rude remarks, which was unbelievable at that point. So much that even the front desk lady turned around to look at the tech in disbelief. When the crazy tech left and disappeared from view in the back, the front desk lady apologized for her behavior. What a bizarre, twilight-zone experience. Needless to say we never came back here again. The vet really came across as fake, not genuinely concerned about us or our pets, and that staff member takes the cake for rude behavior which we felt was condoned and even encouraged by the vet. The nutty tech mentioned she worked with this vet in her previous practice for a long time before she followed her to her new practice, so there was no point in even complaining if they were friends with a long history together, we didn’t get the feeling she would ever do anything about it if we complained. I mean the vet was standing there not only witness to her bizarre comments, but participating in the same behavior. Long story short - in the end - we found another vet who was honest, which confirmed the tests recommended by this vet were overkill and unnecessary for our healthy dogs. I felt the need to share my experience, in case someone out there has dealt with the same, as I don’t want them to think they’re alone or that it was personal - this vet and that tech really is the problem, not you. Don’t let them intimidate or scare you into spending money on tests and exams if they seem excessive to you, like they tried to do with us. I recommend you walk away and look for other good, honest vets for second and third opinions to be sure. Read Less
