Came to Dr. Altman as a friend referred us.  We moved here 1 year ago and took our first dog to a "corporate" vet clinic in Fort Collins that was overpriced and sterile.  Dr. Altman truly cares about your pet and so does her staff.  She takes her time and actually talks to you (and your pet).  She provides options and tries to find the best priced option for you that is also the best treatment.  Her prices are very reasonable and her hours are great.  She responds via email too, which is a bonus. Dr. Altman saved my cats life! I brought him to her on a verbal referral. I had just seen another vet who recommended surgery, but it didn't match the symptoms. Dr. Altman did a second opinion for my beloved Munchkin cat and found major health conditions that would have killed him had he gone to surgery. He is 15 years old and we found out he had high blood pressure. He is now on medications to ease his bp and hopefully, will live on to pester the great staff at the clinic. Read Less

We have gone to Dr. Ruth Altman's practice since we moved to Loveland almost 4 years ago. We love her!! Her small practice ensures very personal attention and care. Dr. Altman is a straight talker and always has the best interest of your companion animal at heart. Right now we take our dog and 2 cats to Ruth. She also provides the best care for your senior. Our beloved Marty (of almost 16 years) had to finally be euthanized the end of last Dec. This is by far the best vet that I have been to in Fort Collins...honestly, it's the best I have ever been to. Dr. Clough and all the staff take extra time to examine my pets as well as to get to know me; and with all my pets having some kind of medical problem(s), that is relieving. They are kind and considerate and treat every patient (human and furry) with respect and understanding. Knowing that I sometimes have a tight budget they do their best to accommodate to my pet's needs as well as my wallet's. I have quite a few pets and they routinely ask how everyone is doing. I have never felt so involved with my zoo's health nor have I felt so comfortable bringing my cats and dogs to a vet. Dr. Altman and her team are THE BEST! I had to take my new cat in last minute to get her shots before I move away to Washington and based on reviews I saw for Animal Haven on yelp, I sent an appointment request on their website. Immediately the next day I had an e-mail from Allison with some time suggetsions; unfortunately none of those times worked for me. A day passed before I was going to e-mail back and let them know that I had to get her in somewhere urgently and would have to find another place, but I woke up to another e-mail from Allison letting me know they had a last minute opening if I was able to come in. I called right away to confirm it was still available and got my sweet cat, Tomato, in that day. I was so impressed that she remembered that I was trying to get a last minute appt, and reached out about their opening.All of the women working there were so kind and patient with my little Tomato and I believe they made the experience as least stressful as possible for her. Two days later they sent an e-mail checking in on my girl. The location of the clinic is a little far down College, towards Loveland, but it was 100% worth the drive.I'm so sad that I'm going to be leaving the Fort... I wish that I could take Dr. Altman and her team with me to Seattle and I'm sure Tomato does as well. HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend this team for any of your pet's veterinary needs. There might be cheaper places to get vaccinations and stuff done, like various low-cost clinics, but I do believe that you get what you pay for as far as experience goes for your pet and I'd rather know that my cat is in the loving hands of a veterinarian who knows me and cares about my baby.Thank you, Dr. Altman and team! I absolutely love Ruth and her staff! I adopted a 1-2yr old dog from the humane society and came to animal haven for the follow up because they were close to me and were on the list from the humane society for file up visits. Well the humane society had missed a baby tooth that was supposed to have been removed when he was under anesthesia to get neutered at the the humane society. Dr. Ruth Altman pointed out that it was there, and should've been removed before he was up for placement to adopt. She told me to call the humane society, and when the humane society  refused to take the tooth out (I signed a contract to be responsible for post adoption care), dr.altman contacted the humane society to see what they could The humane society called me back two days later and apologized for the oversight and extracted his tooth for free. Besides that, when I brought him in for the initial visit, dr ruth found he had kennel cough, and worms. The staff there treated him with antibiotics for both, but what really sold me was that they emailed me personally every few days to check on his progress. I've worked at a vet, worked for vets as a nanny, and work with vets for my job as a muttkneebrace consultant. I have never ever seen so much care and follow up ever. I highly, highly, recommend this clinic for anyone who needs veterinary care. I tell everyone I know of animal haven. Just try it, you'll see the attention they pay toward your furry friend.
