Paws N Claws Veterinary Clinic

Fort Collins, Colorado
General Info
Paws N Claws Veterinary Clinic assists families in Fort Collins and nearby Colorado regions by designing appointments that follow emotional pacing to maintain consistency while reducing disruptions and enhancing wellness. The initiation of the visit allows animals to proceed into the area according to their individual timing. Personnel observe movement patterns through the space alongside time taken to settle while noting response to touch, sound, and scent cues. Exams involve comprehensive assessments of hydration skin elasticity limb range dental condition coat health and weight balance together with in-depth discussions about recent sleep changes feeding rhythms and household energy shifts. Paws N Claws Veterinary Clinic offers an array of services including vaccinations, bloodwork, mobility care, dental planning, preventive guidance, surgical support, and long-term care discussions. Service offerings evolve either step-by-step or in combined forms depending on the pet’s sensory preferences. Certain families opt for staggered care through numerous brief visits whereas others select concentrated sessions followed by post-care support. Each plan develops based on the family’s execution capacity by considering caregiver emotional load alongside pet resilience and transportation access within household scheduling patterns. New adopters and chronic condition managers find appointments beneficial due to their inclusion of question spaces, side notes, and storytelling opportunities. Paws N Claws Veterinary Clinic assists pet families across Fort Collins and nearby Colorado areas to integrate care into their daily lives as a natural rhythm instead of a fearful task to avoid, thus establishing opportunities for connection and sustainable wellness practices.

I unfortunately feel I should give this place only 2 stars. At first I though they were amazing for my rats. I took one to have a tumor removed and she got through it very well. Unfortunately I had saw there was still a tumor there when I picked her up. I showed them and they all had insisted it was a fluid bubble from surgery and assured me it would go away. I went back in two week later to have the stitched removed and they still insisted it was a fluid bubble. It wasn't. It got big and quick. I had decided to trust them with my other rat who needed her teeth clipped and Sub Q fluids as she had come down with neurological problems, and likely had a brain tumor. They told me I'm better of euthanizing her. I rejected that and told them I'd like the subcutaneous fluids done. My significant other took her in and they told him they couldn't do anything for her. After he left and told me I called them back and asked why they couldn't do the fluids, the veterinarian said she wasn't informed that I wanted it done. I ended up taking her back in and they gave her fluids. I had asked about her teeth getting clipped as teeth were beginning to scissor and they said no she tried to bite them. So after all that I will no longer take any of my animals there. Read Less

We went to have our very old shep mix put down. We have had other animals seen there. During the procedure a male dr. (sorry I don't remember his name) we informed him that due to her age (she could hardly see or hear) she could be nippy. He had put a muzzle on her and refused to take it off until she was gone because "if some one got bit he would have to cut her head off". Then he looked at my daughters and asked if they would like that. They then build me twice. We had to wait for the second charge to be removed after one or two days. No star here. Read Less

I went here for a few years for both of my dogs (a pitbull mix and dachshund mix) up until recently. My 2 year old pitbull got treated like the plague and unwelcome by Dr. Kevin schramm. I miss Kelsie Click. She never treated my pup the way this man made my dog out to be. My dog was hyper and needs some training. I have no problem admitting that but he literally restrained my dog to the point of yelping in pain when he tried to pull him by his leg. Pit bulls are prone to hip dysplasia and when I expressed my concern about I was simply dismissed with that "my dog is acting this way because things are not on his terms." Wrong. I know my dog. And when he is in pain or something is wrong. I was NOT heard and none of my concerns were addressed. The only things he expressed with all these "horrible temper tantrums my dog is apparently throwing." Excuse me. All I hear is how much you dislike my pittbull. He goes to day camp. Socializes with other dogs. Is not agressive. Barks in excitement but in notes I received since I'm switching vets he used words like "CAUTION" and "GROWLING" ummm. Never! I refuse to have a member of my family treated this way. I took my pitbull to The Vets Animal Hospital today (thought broken tail but he's ok) and they had NOTHING bad to say about treating him. Our cattle dog mix has anxiety and socialization issues, but we had no idea the scope of her fear. The vet muzzled her which only made her more anxious. She flopped around like she was being tortured and pooped and peed herself. This NEVER happened at our previous vet. Despite this they wanted to and did proceed with the shots. The staff was knowledgable and well intentioned, but they brought out a demon in our dog that we had never seen before. So I took my puppy to Paws n Claws back in September for a red swollen eye. The vet seemed incompetent, but I didn't trust my instincts. He told me it was food allergies, something I was feeding her. I felt so guilty and on top of it he tried to get me to put her on a SUPER expensive diet. When her eye was STILL not getting better, I had my mom take her to her vet. They found mites almost instantly!! My poor baby suffered for 5 months because of this guy! And I felt guilty that it was my fault! Finally my baby is looking better and not itching. Great caring office. Dr. Schram always takes the extra time needed to answer my questions and gives me options. He has been available for that needed emergency visit and probably saved my dog"s eye.

We will be going back to our previous vet, who is more expensive, but has much better bedside manner. Read Less

Do NOT take your pets to Paws n Claws!! Read Less

I can't recommend Dr. Schramm and his staff at Paws 'n Claws enough. They are kind, generous with their time, and they will go the extra mile for their customers. I have developed a close relationship with everyone over there, and I won't go anywhere else for veterinary care in Fort Collins. Dr. Schramm really went above and beyond his duties in order to help me keep my elderly dog happy and healthy in her golden years. We were in quite a lot near the end of her life, and he was always patient, loving, and caring. This place is a gem! Read Less

I'm new in town and my yorkie got sick. I looked through the reviews on Google and took him to the clinic that had the most reviews. I was sorely disappointed! The next day my dog was still sick so I took him to Paws'n Claws and I love the people there! They truly care about animals and their prices are reasonable! It's nice to go to an animal clinic where they don't jack up the prices so they can pay for their state of the art equipment, cutesy scrubs and headphones. We'll be going to Paws'n Claws for years to come! Read Less

This place is fantastic! We brought our poor little kitty that needed a tail amputation in this morning and they were so helpful! They took her in right away, and the staff was so friendly. At reception they were quick to get back to us and Dr. Schramm was so kind. He took the time to go over the procedure with us beforehand and after he personally gave us an update on her status and care instructions for her. Their price was 78% cheaper than another place in town (we saved over $1300) Not only is my kitten doing so much better but the care we received was exceptional. I would never hesitate to take my animals here. Read Less
