I spend summers in Colorado, but live near San Francisco the rest of the year (I'm a teacher).  I have a young poodle and saw a flash in his eyes and learned that the Pet Wellness Clinic was holding a CERF eye clinic, so I signed up (about a 1.75 hour drive from where I live in Colorado).  We went, needed a microchip, too (after the one from VIP Petcare couldn't be found).I found them professional, knowledgeable, and helpful and that was before I called them explaining I'd lost the tag that I'd gotten that very day for the microchip.  They said they'd call if they found it.  Sure enough, more than a week later someone found it in the parking lot and the folks at the Pet Wellness Clinic called me to let me know and they mailed it to me, since I wasn't very close by to pick it up.  All I can say is THANK YOU! I have hesitated in writing something about TPWC for a year or so now, but feel it is necessary to share what I will here for two reasons-1.our hearts will forever be heartbroken because of a particular decision made by TPWC about one of our dogs & 2. So that all whom visit TPWC FB page will know that sometimes things at this vet don't ALWAYS turn out as they should because of certain decisions made by them- and I had referred many a client to them over their years in busine...ss, helping to be part of their success- as I always felt them to be compassionate-especially Dr. Mike . In the number of years we took our dogs to TPWC, we had great care from Dr. Mike- as we always preferred to see him as our vet when there. In the end though, re: one of our dogs whom could have had further diagnosis from a neurological angle, we were referred to a vet in Wheatridge by him for that kind of care- in which we were told as such that was because that vet was a long time friend of Dr. Mike's. That was even though we shared with Dr. Mike that our dog no longer liked traveling in the car, that it made her very anxious. We did say we were not interested in taking our dog to the vet teaching hospital in F.C.- in which he hadn't necessarily recommended them anyway. Unfortunately, just two months after we had to put our dog to sleep, our other dog had to also be put to sleep too for other reasons though. BUT- that was after he ( the second dog) got an immense amount of excellent neurological care at VCA emergency clinic to hopefully save his life, in which that vet was literally just down the road from TPWC about 5 to 10 minutes away off of Hwy 287!!! So one can only imagine in us realizing our other dog, that needed more examining by a specialist -could have been referred to VCA emergency instead, and possibly had a longer life because of that fact, because we would have done anything to give her that, if possible! We weren't aware that the VCA emergency clinic was down the street from TPWC. Our dog that was there was hit by a car, and taken by someone else to there in hope of his life being saved, and because he was found in an area near that vet. We started with TPWC in it's early years when it had a small office around the corner from where it is now. As you all know - now it has a whole building, offers more services, and a dog boarding place now too. I am all for businesses doing better- but not when profit over compassion happens. Those of you that use TPWC , I do wish you all get good care there for your pets still, but wanted to share our story so that it gives you some food for thought on how things can sometimes happen differently ,and then one having to then sacrifice the life of their loved pet. And, honestly, this is not just true, at times, of TPWC - as one should take into account any vet they may choose to use, as to how things appear to be- especially when it comes to if it ever appears to be compassion over profit. I have never in my life had such a good experience with a vet's office. I know it's hard to trust a Google review and get a strangers advice but as a very very picky cat mother, I would have to say that this place is the best thing that has happened in my cat's life. Those people truly care, their employees have been there forever and if it wasn't for Dr. Brenda McClelland's guidance my cat would have probably been dead by now. She has gone above and beyond for us and Dr. Mike Jewell, whom my baby sees regularly, has performed his dental cleaning with incredible success. It sounds small, but anesthesia can be quite tricky and dangerous when performed by an inexperienced doctor and Dr. Mike is just the best you can find. Unfortunately my first experience with pet wellness was when my cat had to be put to sleep. I can't say enough about how amazing the staff at pet wellness was during the whole procedure. They were patient, caring, provided multiple boxes of tissues, and made sure my cat was as comfortable as possible. They stayed late to make sure I had enough time to say goodbye. The nurse gave me a hug before I left and I knew my cat had been given the best of care. They didn't try to insist on extensive procedures that wouldn't have been in the best interest of my 18 year old cat after other vets in the area did. I bring all 7 of my pets to Pet Wellness and have had excellent experiences each time I have gone in. The prices are reasonable and the staff is friendly, personable and knowledgeable. Even though they are very busy most days, there have been times that I have gotten a next-day appointment for an issue that needed to be seen sooner rather than later. All the doctors have taken the time to explain things to my family and I in a clear, concise manner and they have all followed up personally the next day. Most recently, my dog came in with a bladder infection but a quick ultrasound showed something more and they recommended some medication and a follow up ultrasound a few weeks later. This is excellent, thorough medicine and I am very glad we followed up since the second ultrasound with the radiologist through Pet Wellness showed a clear bladder but discovered a tumor around my dogs heart and has given us enough time to see an oncologist for treatment. I owe them his life!! The patient-oriented care that they provide is worth every penny and I will continue to bring my pets to them for years to come. Read Less

Unfortunately, I went here hoping to find high quality pet care and was largely disappointed.  The staff is very high pressure sales driven.  They got much more sales driven when they added the pool to the pet boarding facility...guess they have to pay for it somehow.  They put the value of a dollar before the quality of life for a living animal.  If you want a vet that only cares about how much money they can take from you for unnecessary procedures for your pet then you have found the place.  If you want a vet that cares about what is best for your animal...keep looking! AWESOME, AWESOME, AWESOME! I truly do not have enough good things to say about The Pet Wellness Clinic. I am SO thankful to have found this place, three years ago. The people here are AMAZING! From the vets to the vet techs, everyone is happy, helpful and passionate about what they do. The crew does a great job of making you feel at home and "part of the family." I love when I give my name to set up a visit and the CVT says (without looking at a chart), "How is Peg doing!? She was so sweet when she was in last week!" It's reassuring to know that they care for my kitty as an individual and not just another pet on a long patient list. The personal touch is spot on! I always feel comfortable and at ease if I have to leave kitty at the vet all day. Dr. Meisen Mok is, hands down, one of the most outstanding health professionals I've ever met. He is THE BEST. I haven't had experiences with the other vets here, but if you're looking for a recommendation, please heed my advice and choose Dr. Meisen Mok! He is very informed and insanely intelligent! He is thorough during his exams and explains everything in a very clear and understandable manner. He is personable and kind, and I really enjoy watching him work. He is wonderful at incorporating the owner in their pet's wellness he presents options for a "course of action" and then seeks the owner's feedback to create the perfect plan. My kitty was recently diagnosed with cancer, and Dr. Meisen has called me every-other day (LITERALLY) to check up on her. I mean, how many other vets do that!? Like I said AWESOME AWESOME AWESOME! I've never had a problem getting in touch with the staff at the office. Setting up appointments is easy as can be. And the office itself is clean, organized and inviting. Great Vets and Vet Techs! We have been bringing our dogs to them for about the last 5 years. Very caring and knowledgeable. Also, their prices are very reasonable. We left our other vet when we the price difference for a knee surgery (Pet Wellness was half the price!). They were very good treating our dogs when one was diagnosed with cancer and the other with a bad heart valve. Would not hesitate for a second to recommend them.Read Less

I have been in the dog world for 16 years, raising, training, and showing my Border Collies and Rhodesian Ridgebacks. During that time I have encountered a lot of veterinarians, some good, some not so good. I have had nothing but good experiences at the Pet Wellness Clinic. I have brought 5 different dogs here over the years, and the staff have always gone above and beyond to make sure my dogs were comfortable with the experience. One of my dogs is snappy with strangers, and she LOVES the staff at Pet Wellness! I also love that many, if not most, of their vet techs have been there since I started going, so I feel like I know everyone there. They do all of my dog's routine care, and they are always bringing in specialists for health clinics so that my dogs can get all their genetic screening for breeding. I love that they give multiple dog discounts as well. I would recommend this clinic to anyone looking for a reasonable, well educated veterinary staff who isn't just out for money!Read Less

I was in search of a vet when I moved to CO in 2013. I did my research and based on the reviews I felt like the Pet Wellness team was going to be a good fit. Nice and helpful staff and doctors, a late night emergency service, close to my house and now an awesome place to board my fur buddies when I have to leave town. The techs are super great at answering questions and following up. The whole staff really work their tails off and clearly care for my pets like they're theirs. I've worked most closely with Dr Meisen and I am so thankful for his knowledge, advice, compassion and his willingness to tell me all my options without making me feel like he's trying to bring in revenue by only telling me about the high cost options.And Dr's Brenda and Mike appear to have their hearts and souls invested in their practice. I see them there ALL the time I come in and lately that's been a lot unfortunately.  I've recommended Pet Wellness to both my mom and my brother's family and I highly recommend them to others, too. After about two years of this being our vet, I have made the painful decision to find a new vet. One of my dogs has a serious immune system disorder. The staff at PWC did a great job bringing him back from the brink of death and getting him stabilized. Since then, I've experienced very unprofessional exchanges from one doctor who left messages and talked to me about very personal, non vet-related, topics. Recently, this vet has refused to refill my dog's maintenance meds and has left me with a dog with a serious condition who is now at risk. I am left to wonder if their interest is more in money and compliance from the client than caring for animals. Read Less

This was our vet. They were the sweetest people over there and helpful in a way that was above and beyond.  The price if an appointment or service was cheap and affordable, but they still did a great job and were knowledgeable and thorough. On top of that, we were new dog owners and if we called them to ask for helpful advice they were there for us. Which dog food should we try if our current one isn't working? Is this eye goop something we should come in for? What vaccines and shots do recommend on top of the city requirements?They would even call and remind us about appointments and when our prescriptions would run out.It's all positive.
