I started taking my Weimarener and Corgi puppies here as per recommendation of my mom. I'm so glad I did! Their normal vet is wonderful - always giving my pups all the attention while being very thorough when they go in. On top of that, the other vets, especially Dr. Davidson are incredible. The week of June 10th my Weim got very sick. She didn't eat at all Tuesday and Wednesday morning she started vomiting. I called South Mesa to get her in. The gal who took my call got her scheduled for an appointment. Dr. Davidson checked her out and was very attentive to my puppy's needs. Ultimately Dr. Davidson recommended we hospitalize my pup for observation since she wasn't sure if it was possibly a bowel blockage or something else (the x-rays were not showing things as clearly as the doc would have liked). She called me several times throughout the day to give me updates on my baby girl. Ultimately, it turned out to be bacterial infection and my pup is doing wonderful now! Even though I know my dog was not Dr. Davidson's only patient that day I felt like she was. Dr. Davidson (and the rest of the staff at South Mesa) made me feel like my dog was their top and only priority. I would recommend this vet clinic to ANYONE! Read Less

Come Play Stay has been wonderful for our dog. He needs the extra attention and discipline that not all doggy daycares provide and I know he is safe while he is there. I love that I get a report card at the end of the day and I love the webcams. The staff has been consistent over the past few years, which gives me peace of mind knowing that they know my dog. And they do little extras - like Valentine's, Holiday photos, birthday gifts! I also love checking their Instagram to see if my pup made it as a star that week! I was initially frustrated by some of their more rigid practices (pre-registering for day care days, pick up and drop off times, no half days.), but once I got used to it, it has not been a problem for us. Our dog loves it! We just started doing training classes too with Ashley and she is fantastic! Read Less

Come Play Stay is a tough one. Their space for dogs to run around is great and they seem really concerned with knowing which dogs they let in and how the dogs are interacting with one another.I'm giving it a low score because my interactions with this place have always been frustrating. The sign-up process was long and we were given the distinct impression that they were doing us a favor by taking our dog.  There is little to no communication between the staff and the dog owner (there is a daily "report card" that is too generic to really detail how your dog is doing - an example of this would be that our "report cards" for our dog were always fine and we found out later that our dog wasn't resting during nap time and was proving to be a problem dog, completely unbeknownst to us, the owners.) I'm sure that some owners have good experiences with Come Play Stay. Ultimately it was a poor fit for us, and I would recommend some of the other local doggie day cares in town before I would recommend this service. Read Less

They care deeply for their patients, practice excellent medicine, and are philanthropic in the community. One of their veterinarians, Dr. Naomi Hoyer, is incredibly skilled at dentistry and has been donating her time each month for over two years by providing a dental procedure on a shelter cat so that it goes into its new home with a clean, pain-free mouth. It is no exaggeration to say that FCCRSNC would not have made the positive impact it has in our community without the support of South Mesa Veterinary Hospital. I would like to express some serious frustration. I am at a loss. I brought my cat in on 1/9/17 to be put down. She has been very sick for a long time and has gotten progressively worse. One of the vets there even told me a few months ago it could possible be a cancer after a $180 x-ray, but we couldn't afford any of the tests to determine if it was or what it would be. She refuses to use a litter box, has severe breathing issues, coughs up blood, etc. And last night she started experiencing severe bouts of bloody diarrhea. We decided it was probably her time. Last night, Dr. Z examined my cat and refused to euthanize her (which I understand is her right) and wanted to keep her overnight to try some new medication that she was adamant would help her. We could not afford the medication or the overnight stay, and graciously did it for $30 which I appreciate. She called today and said she was 'significantly better' and that she believes this medication will fix her up so well that she will live many more healthy years. I told her we couldn't afford an expensive medication and she assured me time and time again it would only cost us $4 a month for everything she needed. Because of this, I was able to bring home my cat today that I was prepared to have euthanized less than 24 hours earlier. She told me there were multiple options for the route of the medications because my cat refuses to let me put it in her mouth as a liquid, and she was going to give me something else. I picked up the prescriptions today at around 4 to take to Good Day pharmacy like she told me to do, and they were for a compounded liquid, and between the two were going to cost over $100. I called your office at 4:30 to speak with her or another vet to give me some options and was told Dr. Z "left at 2 pm today". I was at a loss of what to do and needed time to think. I called back at 5 and someone told me that Dr. Z was in fact there and she could give me pills instead of liquid which I had originally asked for. The pills, however, are still going to be $33 for a 6 week supply. This is still so far from the carefully estimated price of $4 a month that she had reassured me about multiple times. The only reason I was able to bring my cat home and not take her somewhere else to put her down was because she had reassured me that it would be $4 and that we could afford it. I am still at a loss, with more questions than I have gotten answers. Every time I speak to someone I get a different answer and a different price quote. I am beyond frustrated with this vet. I feel like she told me what I wanted to hear and gave me a bogus price estimate for this so called 'life saving medication' so that she wouldn't have to go through with my request of euthanasia. I am right back where I started with a sick cat, and medication that is more than what I was promised. Read Less

I called Come-Play-Stay interested in doggie daycare. We had been regulars at another doggie daycare in town, but because my dog had neck surgery a few months ago and can no longer wear a collar (a directive from her neurosurgeon), that daycare turned us away. I called Come-Play-Stay hoping to become a new day care client. Come-Play-Stay gave me some line about harnesses not being allowed since they can't release them quickly. Let's not be confused with the facts: my dog's harness has two quick release collars. I told Come-Play-Stay she's been cleared by her neurosurgeon and rehab vet, but the woman said because of my dog's age - she's 8! - she wouldn't like daycare. "She wants a coffee shop and daycare is a nightclub," I was told. My dog has been going to daycare for years and I know what she prefers, thank you very much. She's not broken because she needs to wear a harness and she's not ancient; she is 8. I was incredibly insulted. I am absolutely disgusted by how I was treated and frankly so very hurt. Very clear Come-Play-Stay doesn't want to work with clients and certainly doesn't want what is best for dogs. Read Less

I would like to make a formal complaint regarding your company and it's customer service. Yesterday, my brother came into your clinic to have a free exam of our recently adopted chiweenie. While he was there he was informed that the dog had an upper respiratory infection which we appreciated being informed of. However, my brother was given medications on this visit and it was not clearly explained to him that even though the exam was free if he took these medications he would need to purchase them. Due to this he left as would anyone who was told they had a free visit. At about 6pm we received a phone call that we did not pay for the medications and that it would be 55 dollars. This is money that we did not have. We asked if the bill could be paid Friday as that is when we both get paid we were told it would require a special authorization. We then requested that the authorization be requested after being put on hold for 5 minutes we were informed that the owners were on "vacation" and that if we did not want to pay for the medications that we had to bring them back before 7pm when the office closed. We then explained that we had already administered some of the medications. The receptionist then informed us that if we didn't want the medications that we could bring them back regardless, but that we would be billed for the medications that we did administer. Throughout this whole process my brother was treated as though he stole something and was a criminal. As you can imagine I am completely disgusted with your company and will be sharing my feelings with all of my fellow pet owning friends about your unprofessional practice. In conclusion I will no longer be using your services as I can find a place where an honest mistake will be treated as an honest mistake and not as a criminal case. This is absolutely the ONLY doggie daycare in Northern Colorado that my dogs will ever go.  I love that they rigorously screen all participants, and they let me know when my dog was starting to "age out of" i.e., not enjoy, the daycare setting.  I really appreciated the heads up, and so did my dog!  The fact that they were willing to advocate for her, even if it lost them business, means that they have my business for life. Grooming gets an A+!  All three of my dogs (even the wooly mammoth) come home soft and smelling good.  As an added bonus, they're always excited to see Noel, which makes me feel great about leaving them for the day.The boarding staff are phenomenal, and I'm impressed at the attention to detail they take with the dogs in their care.  Last time my kiddos boarded for an extended period, they got diarrhea and the staff went out of their way to not only make sure they were treated  medically, but to move them to a quieter area to mitigate the issue altogether.  I was so thankful that I left them at Come Play Stay and not somewhere where they could have been left to get sicker over the course of their stay.Highly highly recommend! I have been using SouthMesa for almost 3 years  and haven't had a problem until now.I dropped my dog off for boarding Thursday, Feb. 6th in the morning. I would like to drop-off in the evening because they don't charge you for that day, but the cut-off is 5:30pm preventing people who get off at 5pm from having the time to get off, get their dog, and make it back. I suspect that is the point though. I was told on the phone that they don't charge for that day if you drop off in the afternoon or pick up in the morning, which, technically, then I should be able to drop off in the evening, stay overnight, pick up in the morning, and not get charged at all, since they don't charge per overnight, just for the day....yeah, doesn't make sense to me either. Anyway, when I picked her up on Sunday, Feb. 8th, my bill was for 4 "days" even though she only stayed overnight 3 nights. They don't have a morning pick-up time on Sundays (the most common day for people to pick up their dog), again I suspect so that they can charge you for the day. If I was to have picked her up Monday morning the cost would've been the same. Again....very little sense to be made here.  When I did drop her off they said she needed a Bordetella (prevents kennel cough, given orally, $16.75) which I was fine with. They did not tell me that an exam ($50) was required. I was under the impression that an exam was only given when a rabies vaccination was administered. Also, when I picked her up she had tape around the tip of her tail. She tends to chew it while she boards; I know this, they know this, and I even wrote it on her check-in papers. I assumed that they would wrap it first to prevent her from doing it. Nope. Instead they charged me $28.50. FOR TAPE!!! Not even vet-wrap, but Ace bandage type tape that was stuck to her hair and injured tail. I got to rip that off this morning, causing distress to my dog and to myself. Very unprofessional and callous in my opinion. At least put some gauze between the hair and tape for crying out loud. And the VET did this. Isn't that like vet school 101?? When I asked if I could wrap it myself before bringing her in next, they were like....."uh...Im not sure, I will have to ask"...ask WHAT? If I am able to prevent my dog from being injured and from you charging me $30. So, here I have been charged $50 for an exam, $30 for tape, and for what I believe to be an extra day of boarding. Im pretty ticked at this point. When I get home and look the bill over....the message on the bottom is even worse. The Vet supposedly examined my dog right? Or did she....? I have no idea what she weighs, are her teeth in good or bad condition, is her heart rate normal, do her eyes and ears looks healthy? How would I know because the message on the invoice only says what a cute dog she is (DUH), that she's a little overweight and to give her veggies. If I am paying $50 to have a Doctor examine my dog, then examine her. What I was told, any moron across the room from my dog could've told me. I know she needs to lose weight...hell, who doesn't? And give her veggies?...like an onion or an avocado (because those are veggies...veggies that are BAD for a dog) sheesh. The Vet did leave a voicemail which I erased. Im sorry, but I am paying you A LOT for a service. I would like my dogs exam results in writing, NOT in a voice mail. I like to keep records. Again, very, VERY unprofessional. I mean...really? Who is making the policies at this place? So, what I thought was going to be a $75 bill, ended up being closer to $200. The manager is supposed to call me back. Yeah, we'll see..... Read Less

Okay, full disclosure -- I'm a little nutty about my dogs.  I'm the sort that drives 1,200 miles to visit family over the holidays so that I can bring them with me.  To me, boarding is an option of last resort.I had to exercise this option-of-last-resort when dog-sitting arrangements fell apart for a recent trip.  In the past I've boarded the dogs at another daycare/boarding business in town, but was reluctant to go back since my dogs seemed stressed when I picked them up and took a few days to recover.  I'd heard good things about the Come Play Stay facility from a few dog-loving friends, so decided to give them a try.I dropped-in to tour the facility and got our paperwork in order a few days before boarding my dogs.  The facility was spotless, and the staff friendly and helpful.  My standard poodles are too big for the fancy indoor suites with webcams, so they had to stay in the "Town and Country" accomodations -- your basic indoor/outdoor runs.  I decided to go with the 4-star package that included a daily "turn-out" (play time in a small yard, either individually or with other boarding client dogs) and a treat time (a Kong, filled with your choice of canned dog food or peanut butter).  The 5-star package would have added daily brushing ... it was explained to me that this brushing was more about extra attention than a full grooming brush-out, so I skipped it since I'm particular about how my poodles are brushed. So the moment of truth was when I picked my dogs up, and they were ... fine.  Yes, they were happy to see me and jumped up on me to say hello, but there was no attempting to jump over the barriers and no pawing at me for attention or clinging to me.  They seemed happy to hang with the staff member who brought them out as I gathered up our things to go.  They promptly settled down when I got them into the car and were napping before I even got out of the parking lot.  When we got home, they took a few minutes to check-out the house and make sure everything was in order, then found their favorite comfy spots and resumed their naps.  They didn't even notice when I left for work.So why 4 stars instead of 5?  Well, a couple of quibbles.  First, there's the fact that they only take cash or credit/debit cards ... it's still kind of unusual not to take checks in this town.  Also, I realized later that their 3-, 4-, and 5-star packages really aren't packages -- there's no price difference between the package and a la carte pricing & they're all treated like separate services anyway (e.g. my dogs were boarded for 5 days & I picked them up the morning of the 6th day, but I was charged for 5 days of boarding and 6 turn-outs & treat times since they'd already done those things when I picked them up -- in the future I'll know to ask to skip those things on the pick-up day).  Finally, there's still the overall guilt of actually having to board the dogs -- I'd still rather take my dogs with me or use a pet-sitter that I trust, but if I absolutely had to board I would definitely choose Come Play Stay. Come Play Stay is a doggy daycare, boarding, grooming and training facility that is part of South Mesa Veterinary Hospital. It is gorgeous and clean plus they have a really friendly staff that loves your dog! I have no idea about South Mesa's vet care, never used them but I do know Ashley Foster. Ashley runs the Come Play Stay side of things at South Mesa. She is awesome, educated, certified, and truly understands dogs. In the past we used Ashley for in-home training of our two dogs, Daphne and Alice (our dogs freakin' love her!). Her motto for training is do no harm and develop trust, totally reward based not fear based. So, when we heard Ashley was involved with a doggy daycare we were in! We went to the grand opening of Come Play Stay and got to do a tour of the whole place, seriously, I would bathe, play at the daycare, and sleep in the pet lodge, it is that nice! They do not have any ridiculous breed restrictions like other doggy daycares in town. They do something much better, a thorough pre-screening. That's right, before your dog is even allowed in daycare he/she is evaluated (you have to have an appointment for this...my advice is to call first). Plus dogs are further evaluated on their first day of daycare. Very smart. They also try to keep your dogs play group consistent. For example, my dogs go every Wednesday and they are pretty much with the same dogs each time. This means these dogs kind of become a little pack this eliminates the time it takes for the dogs to get acquainted each time they go to daycare. Like at other daycares my dogs would have to spend 3/4 of the day sniffing butts and figuring out who's who and where they fit in but not at Come Play Stay - they get right down to playing. Another nice thing about CPS is that they work on manners (barking, sitting, waiting, etc.), I don't know about your dogs but mine can use all the help they can get in this department!  They even have cameras throughout the place so you can watch your dog(s) hanging at daycare, so cool!  CPS has a really nice gal that does the grooming and a great area for it.  I am comfortable having my dogs bathed here (most other places not so much).  It is nice because the girls can play at daycare then at the end of the day get a bath, when I pick them up they are tired, happy, and clean!  It is loverly!  I haven't used the boarding option but I would.  Now this is saying a lot because I am not very trusting when it comes to leaving my dogs with someone.  In fact, I have never boarded either of them ever.  It is nice to know the CPS pet lodge is available if I need though.  They could go to daycare during the day then go to the pet lodge in the evening, nice. CPS offers training classes too, I haven't taken any yet but they are taught by Ashley so they have to be great!  Oh, and all the staff is just fantastic, they always know who my dogs are, they really like them, and they aren't breedist either!  They don't treat little miss Alice like a second class dog because she is a pit bull mix from the Larimer Humane Society (or Daphne either, she is a Boston/pit mix from the Omaha Humane Society).  I am so grateful to have a great trainer, great daycare, great groomer, and pet lodge right here in Fort Collins! Read Less

Read Less

Read Less

Read Less

We had quite the scare after taking our bitch into th pet er here in greeley sunday afternoon. They insisted we do emergency surgery to remove her uterus or it was going to be life threatening. We chose to wait to see our vet Monday morning. They too after no re-exam said the same. We asked for other options and they referred us to Mesa. Dr. Davison was absolutely one of the best vets I've been in the same room with in probably 10 years. I can not express how pleased I am. Our girl is doing great and no surgery needed. I am shocked it took us 3 vets to figure this out but we know where we'll be going from now on. My husband and I and Ginger thank you and your team.
