Dr. Altman has seen two of my four pets and with both she has been a wealth of information! My 13.5 year old pit bull was just diagnosed with cognitive dysfunction which was really effecting the entire household. Dr. Altman gave us a ton of information to immediately effect his sleeplessness. She also saw our English Mastiff who had constant UTIs which required antibiotics from other vets. She was able to make some suggestions other than a prescription and our EM hasn't had a UTI since then. She gives a thorough explanation and multiple options for treatment which we appreciate. We have gone to Dr. Ruth Altman's practice since we moved to Loveland almost 4 years ago. We love her!! Her small practice ensures very personal attention and care. Dr. Altman is a straight talker and always has the best interest of your companion animal at heart. Right now we take our dog and 2 cats to Ruth. She also provides the best care for your senior. Our beloved Marty (of almost 16 years) had to finally be euthanized the end of last Dec. (Dec. 2014), and Dr. Altman provided an environment that made his passing over the Rainbow Bridge as calming as possible for both Marty & my husband & I. You can not go wrong if you go to Animal Haven Vet Clinic!! Read Less

This is by far the best vet that I have been to in Fort Collins...honestly, it's the best I have ever been to. Dr. Clough and all the staff take extra time to examine my pets as well as to get to know me; and with all my pets having some kind of medical problem(s), that is relieving. They are kind and considerate and treat every patient (human and furry) with respect and understanding. Knowing that I sometimes have a tight budget they do their best to accommodate to my pet's needs as well as my wallet's. I have quite a few pets and they routinely ask how everyone is doing. I have never felt so involved with my zoo's health nor have I felt so comfortable bringing my cats and dogs to a vet. So, that being said, Cindy Lou Who, Daisy Mae, Frankie June, Olive, Shadow, and I highly recommend paying them a visit! :) Read Less

Hi there. We adopted a cat, Mirabelle, when she was a year old and made Trilby our vet after reading reviews. They were great and friendly, but when she developed sudden 2x a day vomiting about a year after adoption, we were prescribed a few hairball remedies. We really doubted that the problem was hairball related, especially after the various remedies had no effect. Right around this time we moved to Longmont and went to a new clinic for the problem, who treated it as IBD, but only with different foods. We are euthanizing her today after over a year of troubleshooting instead of treatment; she is only 3 1/2 but got progressively worse. I of course don't blame Trilby, however I wanted to provide some feedback on the treatment of Mirabelle and the fact that sudden, violent daily vomiting should be treated with more levity - we were already starting down the wrong path of treatment with your clinic (which very possibly would have been corrected had we stayed in town). Everyone was always friendly and professional. Read Less

I have been taking my two kittens to TCAH for a few months now. Some of the vet techs are more knowledgeable than others, however I have had nothing but great experiences so far! I have never felt pressured to purchase additional services and the staff are so affectionate toward my pets, making each visit as pleasant as possible. I have been especially impressed by the professionalism and compassion with which a potential serious condition in one of my kittens has been addressed. I have also received wonderful advice over the phone about how to handle minor issues at home such as diarrhea and bad behaviors. I will continue to take my pets to such a wonderful establishment! 2 weeks ago our beloved 13 year old cat Tommy became very ill. I knew that I needed to get him to a vet asap so I chose Trilby Companion Animal Hospital because they are right across the road from me and I did not want to drive long distance with a cat so ill. When I called to see if they could get me in I was pleased that they were able to get me in right away, I was very pleased that the person answering the phone was very compasinate to me as I was already very emotional about the situation dreading the outcome. When my son and I arrived I was very pleased with the reception that we got and again the compassion shown for the situation. The tech that was helping us seemed very nervous but very helpful. The vet was very nice and very compasionate towards us. After the exam and an abdominal tap for fluid we had to make the very hard choice to put our beloved cat to rest as there was nothing that could be done and my son did not want to see his cat suffer anymore. I asked the tech if they did cremations she told me that she had to check she came back in the room and stated that they do "general" for $60.00 and "private" for $130.00, no explantion provided on which was which or what they consisted of, I chose the general. She then had me sign paperwork told me that she would take care of the payment and then once Tommy was gone we could just leave and not have to worry about payment or anything. Once Tommy was gone my son, who was devasted, ran out of the office and I followed. I had not heard anything about the ashes as of today so I contacted them to check. The gentleman that answered the phone stated that he did not see the ashes and that he would have to call me back after checking on it. My heart sank at that moment knowing that something was wrong. I then received a call from Amy stating that I had selected the "general" so therefore I would not receive the ashes and that they scattared them at some garden on their own. I began to cry just knowing the devastion that my son was going to feel when I had to tell him this. Amy asked me if it had been explained to me what the difference was between "general" and "private" I told her no I was NOT explained the difference and had I have been I would have done the "private" as that were my wishes to have the ashes so that my son could make the decision on what to do with them. I told Amy that I even told the tech that I wanted the ashes and this was still not explained to me. Amy then asked me if I was offered "paw prints" in which I told her NO I was not offered anything. She stated that she would speak to the staff to ensure that this did not happen again. In which I replied a little to late to help me and my son with our devastion of losing our beloved cat and best friend and now have nothing!! Tommy was my son's cat, he got Tommy when he was 5 years old and Tommy 6 weeks old, they grew up together, they were best friends and this is the first pet that my son has lost and he is just devasted over this! I do not know if this is normal for this place, a miscommunication or lack of knowledge on the part of the tech and vet that dealt with me, but a very devasting experience with this place to say the least. Before today I was very pleased with this place and even thought how nice they were for sending a card to me and my son after losing Tommy. But, today destroyed all of that for me, they had a client for life for all my animals before today, after today I will never step foot in the place again and will not recommend them to anyone. This is a situation that this place really needs to step up to and ensure that this never happens again to anyone! Read Less
