Had a dog emergency this morning called and they told me the earliest appointment was at 9:30am I was very impatient and wanted to help my dog so bad so we walked in around 8am and they helped us immediately!! Today was Loki's first vet visit. The staff was amazing with him. They gave him lots of cookies and love before they did anything, to make sure he was comfortable with them. We have used VCA in other cities previously and this location has a very high level of standards. Dr. Burton is our Vet; she has advanced training and is an excellent communicator. After Petsmart denied housing for my 3 cats, we came to VCA and had no problems getting them checked in. The staff was friendly and obviously cared for animals. My cats- who were extremely shook up from a 4 day drive across country- came out of their cage and were strutting around for all of the nurses in no time. The VCA Animal Hospital in Fort Collins has been wonderful to work with. I have a cat who has been going there for roughly 9 years. Recently, I found out that his health maladies were so severe I should consider euthanasia. This message was lovingly crafted and empathetically delivered by Dr. Morgan, who called my home a few days later to see how he was doing at that point in time. She took considerable time with me during Spencer's annual examination and I left with new understanding and was able to look at Spencer with new eyes at home. When the fateful day finally came, I called to make an appointment through tears. The receptionist knew instantly listening to only my voice, how dire the situation had become. I wanted to wait for Spencer to see Dr. Morgan, but that would have extended his suffering needlessly. Instead I was offered a chance to come in the day of the call and see Dr. Tucker, whom I (and Spencer) had never met. Again, my emotional needs, as well as Spencer's comfort, were never in question from the moment I walked through the door. I initially met with Brittany, who very soothingly and professionally, walked me through the euthanasia process, and then Dr. Tucker joined in for further discussion. I was put completely at ease by Dr. Tucker's very caring and emotionally thoughtful explanation of how things might proceed. I was an emotional wreck while all this was going on and both Brittany and Dr. Tucker were highly attentive and understanding. I know this is their job, but how they handled me and Spencer on this most difficult day was nothing short of extraordinary. I cannot recommend this VCA animal hospital enough. I starting going to VCA when I bought two little kittens, and have been given excellent care by Dr. Rick Klomhaus. I only wish I had brought my greyhound there when I had her. The prices seem a little high, but I was given a tour of the facility, and the place is huge! They have everything there, even pet boarding. I feel like they get the best of care there, so even if it costs a little more, my pets are worth it. The assistants are wonderful, and everyone there takes an interest in your pets. VCA Fort Collins provides fantastic veterinary care. All of the vets are extremely competent, knowledgeable and thorough, and the staff is professional, patient and caring. They do a wonderful job following up after appointments and treat both their patients and the patients' humans as individuals. A couple of reviewers commented that it is a bit on the expensive side, but you get what you pay for, and VCA Fort Collins' incredible care is worth every penny. So far, we have been happy taking our two dogs there. Every staff member has given excellent, caring service. It is a clean facility, and I have not felt pressured for extra services. We got a detailed estimate for a minor surgery, and there was a range given, which i thought was very practical and reasonable for us and for the hospital. No surprise charges. Although it is a large hospital, I have received several personal phone calls from the doctor. The evening and weekend hours are great!
