I made an appointment here because we wanted a second opinion regarding my Pomeranian. I took advantage of their free new client exam. The people up front were courteous, but not really friendly. We were taken back just a couple of minutes later. I excused myself to use the restroom, but my husband stayed with our pooch. The vet (Dr. Johnson??)came in and my husband told her about the limp our dog had. Sher inexistent took her to the back so she could see her walk (without my husband). Apparently she did an "exam" of or dog in the back without us present (I don't like that). I return from the bathroom and the vet brings our dog in and says "she has grade 2 luxating patellas and she would eventually need surgery. She said she didn't see a limp(that's a crock, she was limping when she went in and came out from the back, I know my dog). My husband explained we were looking for a second opinion and that our vet had said hip dysplasia. Our original vet had done xrays and saw that. This vet suddenly became hostile saying "well we are not dong xrays and if we did it would be $350-400" She stayed over by the door like she was in a hurry to get out of there. I don't Care about cost when it comes to our dog, she is our baby. I do Care about kindness and compassion. We felt like she was threatening us with costs!!! I guess what troubled me is she never asked is any questions about our pup. She never gave any recommendations about diet, supplements, or anything that could possibly help us keep this from going to surgery. I don't trust her diagnosis at all. She didn't seem like she even cared if we ever came back. She gave us a list of surgeons and sent us on our way. We were in and out in 15 minutes!! I feel like she came up with the most common problem with Pomeranians and decided that since she was limping, that had to be it. How can I trust she even looked at my dog since it was without us in the back?? Not a good practice. And my pup was weird the rest of the day. Idk what happens in the back, but don't let your dog back there without you!!! Or just find another vet. These people left a very bad taste in my mouth. Our regular vet at Vetwerxs for an office visit, xrays, and some pain meds was $250. We wanted a second opinion, not because we don't trust our vet, but we just wanted to make sure. We do the same for ourselves as humans, so why not our dogs?? Our regular vet welcomed getting a second opinion and is always kind, transparent, compassionate, and gives us options. Read Less
