This was my first time here and I am so beyond happy that I found Dr. Burger. My pup had been in and out of hospitals and vet appointments since august 2017 and we kept getting different answers. She was finally diagnosed with pancreatitis at a different hospital while we were out of town but soon relapsed. That's when we found Francis Veterinary Hospital and they kept her in their hospital for a couple of days. She came home early yesterday back to her usual self and is doing so great!! I am so so thankful that they helped my best friend. Dr. Burger was also very patient with me even when I was asking a lot of questions and they fit us in within an hour of calling (the ladies up front are so kind too and so are the nurses). Not only that, I didn't feel like she rushed us out like I feel with a lot of other doctors. If you're looking for a great doctor, come here. I will always bring my Lola here from now on. Read Less

I am not sure why the name of the practice hasn't changed because Dr. Francis retired and sold her practice. The new Dr. keeps terrible hours and charges A LOT!! I found a new vet that is far more trustworthy. Read Less

We have been taking our pets to Dr. Francis since the early 90's and we have never been disappointed. We love her straight forward way of communication and her excellent level of care she has always provided to our pets. I just went to have our little dog, Emmy's check up. It looks like Dr. Francis has retired, and Dr. Burger is the new vet. She is very professional, and took her time with Emmy. We really like this vet.  When we adopted our second cat, Pip, this vet was one of the doctors that offered a free checkup!  Pip got a clean bill of health.  Later that year he got attacked by what we believe was a bobcat, and shortly after had a growing bump on his side.  We brought him in and Dr. Francis knew right away what was going on. She drained what was a growing absess on his side and gave him an antibiotic shot and we were on our way.  She even let us come back a couple days later for a free check just to make sure everything was ok after the drain healed early.  We will continue to see her for our vet needs! Great experience! We arrived at our appointment time and were in to see the Vet with in a couple minutes. I didn't feel like we were being pushed through to get to the next appointment. We have been using another vet in the area. Our dog needed to be seen and they could not get him in for 2 weeks. So I called Francis Vet and got in right away. The office was clean. We got into our appointment right away. Unlike our old vet where we used to wait and wait to be seen and they always try to upsell, push tests, and medication, Dr Francis wasn't like that. She said she could prescribe a topical ointment but suggested we just use an over the counterantibiotic which way cheaper. I highly recommend her. Read Less

Dr. Francis and staff have always treated out pets like their own, they are caring and always remember our dogs by name. They recently worked on our dog Colby's mouth that had growths and cleaned her teeth at the same time. She was very well tended to and they cared about her so much that they kept her there until she was alert enough to go home. They take extra care at keeping us updated if they stay over night for any treatments, they are a caring, clean and a wonderful facility. Our 14 year old lhasa Apso had her first visit to Francis Vet Hospital a few weeks ago for heartworm test & pills, everyone was very nice, it's a very nice hospital. I had been there once before with my neighbor to have his dog, snoozer put down, a really tough thing to do. Dr Francis was so gentle and kind to snoozer as he passed, I decided then that Sophie, our Lhasa Apso had a new Doctor. I can't imagine going anywhere else. So do your best buddy a favor! Read Less

My little boy woke up with an ear infection on Saturday, and we were fortunate to have been squeezed in to see Dr.Francis with hardly any notice and without an appointment. She was so gentle and kind and I am very happy to have found a new regular vet! I used to go to Planned Pethood or Hermosa, but I am not on that side of town any longer. Dr.Francis and her vet tech/receptionist (?) were great and I am so thankful to them for helping us out. The cost was super affordable and the office was very clean! So glad I picked this one! Dr.Francis and her vet tech/receptionist (?) were incredibly kind and accommodating to me and my little boy. He woke up with an ear infection and we were very fortunate that they were able to squeeze us in without a prior appointment. We ended up with another issue upon arriving home and the Dr. had me come right back to pick up another medication for that as well. We were able to use our CareCredit and all together, the price was very reasonable - much less than I had been expecting to have to spend!  I am very appreciative to both ladies there for helping us out. I recently moved to town with an older BC mix who has some chronic health issues, and Dr. Francis took the time, thought, and effort make a treatment plan to treat my dog's problems, not just her symptoms. Dr. Francis also impressed me by following up multiple times to check and see if her plan was working as intended, which it was, and to make adjustments with the plan according to the the level of success we were achieving. If you want to do the best possible thing for your pet, take them to Francis Veterinary Clinic. Not only are they are knowledgeable and very smart when it comes to diagnosing your pet, they are extremely humane and honest in their approach to treating them. I have been going to this clinic with my two dogs and a cat for ten years and they never prescribe treatments that are extreme or beyond what is absolutely necessary. Although thorough, they are sincere, conservative and considerate in not putting your pet through any more than absolutely necessary to help them. I so appreciate that. Dr. Francis and their support staff are compassionate, understanding and patient with their clients and their fees are appropriate. If I could give them a rating higher that five stars, I would. Absolutely disgusted by how unfriendly and rude this so called animal loving vet was with my husband and I and our dog. She jammed the needle into our LITTLE dogs neck and made zero attempt to care about her at all.. seemed extremely disgruntled during the entire visit. .most vets ask how the dog is doing and make some attempt to gain trust with a playful attitude. ..not Dr. Francis!! Must need a vacation or to retire!! Not the type of person or atmosphere that our sweet little pup should ever have to deal with again! Spreading the word to help others avoid this type of treatment when going to the vet!! My husband and I are still in disbelief after this experience. .. how sad!!! Read Less

We were new to the area and needed to find a vet--this vet had very high reviews and was recommended by the groomer we use. I want to state that this post is not meant to point blame--just to let other pet owners be aware of what happened to us: My dog was old and had some medical problems which made the dental surgery she needed very risky. My dog was a pure bread so medical complications are pretty typical. We reminded two of the technicians on the day of her surgery that they cannot begin the dental surgery without confirming that our dog was able to handle the sedative. Somehow whomever was administrating the sedative did not check our dogs chart and began HEAVILY sedating her. The vet stopped the injection--but not soon enough--our dog had already received more sedative than her liver could handle. The details of this injection process are unclear because we were not there (even though I requested being present); we must believe what we were told. But this resulted in brain damage and days of suffering where my dog could not move or even lift her head. Much to our lament, once our dog was able to move again (3 days later), we realized that the damage was permanent. Weeks later we decided to put her down so she would not suffer anymore. She was an older dog and we can not solely blame this vet for her death, but the blatant negligence of the vet and her staff lead to our dogs early demise. Who knows how many years she would have had, but this story needed to be shared. Not only was our dog over-medicated and suffering for days, but we were still asked to pay for this visit. This whole experience was a tragedy--its been months since this occurred, but my family and myself have been too saddened to even think about posting this review. We will never use this vet again. I took my puppy here to get fixed, mostly because this is the vet the shelter sent me to. NEVER AGAIN! The staff did not communicate very well for drop off and when I went back to pick up I was sitting in the lobby for about 15 mins before someone came out, then it was just rush, rush, rush, like the only goal was to get us out of the way. My little girl has stiches of course that looked horrid and two days later ended up oozing everywhere. That resulted in another vet visit somewhere else. I don't recommend this place for anyone!!!!!! I 100% recommend this veterinary office!I came across Dr Mona Fasth when I opted to have my puppy's ears cropped.  She had never worked on this breed's ears before, and she did a beautiful job!  And I really appreciated that she paid attention to the pictures and verbal description of what I wanted.  I was nervous with my decision, but I couldn't be happier with how they turned out.I had been searching for a new permanent vet as well, and we found her.  Someone is always willing to answer questions, the staff always follows up with me (if the dogs have been sick/injured), and everyone is very welcoming and really seem to are about the dogs.  And it's just a level of service and caring you don't get from many vet offices anymore. Francis veterinary hospital is where you should go if you love your pet. The doctors are extremely knowledgeable, the staff is friendly and kind, and your pet will get first-class care! The facility itself is large, clean, and friendly- not sterile like many vets can be. They have kennels in the back to board your companion if you're going out on a trip (don't worry, there's a yard too for them to get some fresh air).They are more than capable of handling any problem your pet may have, big or small. They will also occasionally get a rescue pet dropped off, so if you're looking to get a new pet, give them a call and make sure to bring them back to keep them in top shape!Thank you, Dr Francis and Staff! I took my dog to Dr. Francis for what seemed to be a back problem. She spent 15 minutes with him and didn't do a thorough exam on him. She prescribed medication that didn't work at all. Next she prescribed more medication for him for digestive stuff. She said I will have to take him to a neurologist and spend thousands of dollars to get an MRI done on him. I took him to another vet a week and a half later and spent a mere fraction the money to get a full THOROUGH exam. They took care of him and the very next day he was feeling 10 times better. I encourage everyone to take their animals to another vet because it seems all Dr Francis is after is making A LOT of money NOT the care of pets!!!!!! Read Less
