Dr. Mallek has been our vet at Genesee Veterinary Hospital for many, many years and has been amazingly wonderful. She has gone above and beyond, offering to make house calls and providing expert care for our dear cat. She is an excellent surgeon and so experienced with pet problems big and small. We were promised that the caretaker would call us to pick up our beloved 15 year old dog and they would call us to do so in spite of the holiday. We made three calls, and went to the kennel personally, yet received no return calls. I could hear my poor dog barking and I couldn't help her!  I was promised that they would call me but nothing!! I took my dog to Dr. Malleck to have her teeth cleaned and to remove a small fatty tumor from her chest, since she was already going to be under anesthesia. When I got my dog back the same day I could not believe the butcher job she had done to my beautiful girl...I wish I could add photos to this post to show what she did...I absolutely hate this idiot doctor. Rather than make an incision and remove the tumor from inside she cut out all the skin in an oval approx. 1 1/2" to 2" across and about 4" long for a tumor about the size of the tip of my little finger and then she had to stretch the skin back to try and cover the wound. My dogs chest is deformed by the butcher job she did and the wound looked like a canoe with large lumps at either end of the incision where she pulled the remaining skin back together and is pulled tightly in the middle of her chest...my dog would have been better off leaving the fatty tumor, since it was harmless and my only concern was that they have a tendency to keep growing. Two days after her surgery I had to take her to another vet after the stitches had torn out because the skin was so tightly stretched. I called her after the stitches had torn out and left a message and she didn't even have the courtesy or courage to call me back. Run for your life, this woman is living proof that education an intelligence are not one in the same...she is a butcher and I will never trust a vet from a Kansas school again. This woman is more like a farm animal doctor than someone you would trust with a pet that you love and want the best care for. Go see the husband and wife team in Evergreen, they're called Family Veterinary Hospital and they're excellent and will even call you in the middle of the night if you have an emergency and need them. I called to inquire about vaccines and  my cat possibly being exposed to rabies (there was a bat in our house) and she basically laughed at me and told me that I would have to consult animal control. Why would you laugh at something like that? Read Less

I just moved to Evergreen a few months ago, and needed to find a vet for my 3 year old husky/golden. I found Dr. Malleck, and we are very, very happy. My dogs have been seeing Dr. Mallack for a few years now. She and her staff are amazing and you can truly feel the heart felt and professionalism they have when you bring your pets in. There is not sugar coating or up-selling or things like that when you are there. You get true advice, the same advice she would give if it were her own pet.
