Do not do business with this veterinarian office unless you would like to pay for any procedure they decide to tack on without your permission or consent. I will not pay for any fee when I came in for a simple teeth trimming for my pet rabbit and they tacked on an additional large exam fee which they didn't mention when I called. I had been in there before for the same thing and now they decided to add it on without my notice. I will not be back and I will not pay for wrongful billing!!! I have turned them in to BBB and Attorney General Office and Board of Veterinarians. This is wrong and should not happen to anyone else!! Read Less

I was struck by the love and care that Dr. Kris and the staff showed for my Bear Kitty. He was in there for his yearly and was made to feel really safe and comfortable. I compare that to my sister's vet in another state and how cold and clinical her vet and staff are without any effort to calm the pet at all. My pet rat had what I thought was an abscess so I brought him in as quick as I could (especially considering there are only a few vets in town that see "exotics"). I actually brought his brother for "moral support" as well and everyone was so sweet and understanding. It turned out that the abscess was actually cancer and my sweet boy is at the end of his life. I wasn't expecting that and was just a wreck... and was so grateful for the entire staff for being so patient and loving. Recently my old Cockatiel took a turn for the worst, so having had a good experience with this vet in the past, and also knowing that they have the experience with birds, I came back. With his condition and age, unfortunately it was more of a matter of keeping him comfortable until the end, (which I already knew going in, but needed some help with keeping him comfortable). When the time came, Dr. Kris and staff treated us with such kindness and compassion, giving us the proper time and presence for grieving over our long time friend. There are plenty of other bird owners out there who are extremely cautious about who they trust their companions with, this review is for all of you. Dr. Kris not only has the necessary experience with birds, which is a rare find in this area, but she and the staff also have the compassion for the relationship between bird and human, and the respect for the animal. Took my 5 1/2 week old Chinese Shar pei(Still too young to be away from mom) and the staff treated her with nothing but love and patience. Veterinary Nurse, Howard was kind to my puppy, from my perspective, he did everything he needed to do and was very knowledgeable towards any questions I had.Veterinarian Kris Ahlgrim, was super lovable. She wasnt afraid to get into my puppys mouth and show me how to brush her teeth. The staff understood my situation with such a young pup and made the experience so much easier.The visit went great and my pup felt very comfortable around the clinic. Not many veterinarians or veterinary hospitals work with birds and even fewer really know what they're doing. At Goldenview they do! I had to take my lovebird in and even though I had taken her to other vets before I could see by the way they treated her that they have a higher level of knowledge and experience. We have two guinea pigs, and when I noticed one was losing fur by his nostril, I knew I had to take him to the vet. After calling around, I discovered that guinea pigs are considered "exotic" pets and thus I had a hard time finding a vet that specialized in them. One vet recommended GoldenView and I'm glad they did, because, in my opinion, they are really great. Before seeing the Dr. Kris Ahlgrim, a young male vet spoke with us about our guinea pigs and checked them out. He seemed very patient, thorough, and compassionate. He very much seemed to care about our animals, and for that, I was immensely appreciative. We then saw Dr. Ahlgrim. Dr. Ahlgrim clearly has a passion for her profession, and for the animals she sees. She talked to our little pigs, and petted them, and seemed to make them at ease. She and her vet technician even carefully cut our pigs' nails for us (for free), while telling us how to do it. Ultimately, she said the one probably had ringworm, but that we'd have to have a lab test done in order to confirm it. Sure enough, he did... But the medicine they provided us made it clear up after a few weeks, and now he's back to normal. The day after we left our appointment, GoldenView's staff called to check in with us about our guinea pigs. So, too, did they call a couple weeks later to give us the results of the lab and answer our questions. Flash forward six months later and they even sent us an extremely cute e-mail birthday card for one of our guinea pigs -- so cute! They care about the animals they see, and that's very evident. I had a rare healthy parrot that I left in the hands of GoldenView Veterinarian hospital run by a Kris Alhgrem. We boarded my Bronze-winged Pionus, named Bronco, because we had to visit a sick relative in Florida on Friday March 6th. While in the care of GoldenView Veterinarians in Golden, they conducted a wellness exam which results showed that Bronco, our parrot, was healthy. 2 days later, we get a call that the parrot fell off his perch and Dr. Kris Alhgrem sent us a picture of our bird, who had just past his wellness exam, dead. They sent a picture of our dead parrot to our cellphones. Autopsy was performed in house (to clear the vet of any wrongdoing, cremation followed). Needless to say, my wife and I were devastated. I need to now move because every thing about my present home reminds me of my poor 3 yr old bird that passed away due to something that happened in the vets office that the vet is not coming clean about. Today, the doctor just called me to tell me that they were charging me $409.00 for the wellness exam, which showed he was healthy. I am at my wits end, because I loved that bird with all my heart and these heartless vets are trying to take advantage of my sorrow. Additionally, the bird was proven 100% healthy by the very same veterinarian in the wellness exam conducted when he first arrived at the clinic. They cremated the bird to remove any trace of wrong doing and are now trying to charge me an excessive amount of money due to their incompetence. Read Less

On September 29th, took my 4 year old little girl (Ebby) a bull terrier in for a routine teeth cleaning and she never woke up. Her histopathology and necropsy showed no existing conditions i.e. perfectly healthy; she had been under anesthesia before without issue. And yet she is not alive today. I have serious questions about what and how this happened, and I have been given little solace from information provided. The listed cause is (IAR) idiopathic anesthetic reaction, chances of this happening 1 in 400-800. Now does that sound like a statically insignificant number, it is straight off their report? Seriously if that was explained to me the real risk there is no way I would have ever agreed to that for such a minor thing. Sadly I am sure I signed something acknowledging it and I will forever regret it. This practice deserves more than just a negative mark, but about all that is afforded to me as pet owner is to share this information with as many others as I can. I cannot truly express my heartbreak and anger here. In my opinion it is greed that drives a practice to push these proceeds that their own stats show as statically high risk. Let this be a warning to listening to so called experts pushing you to do something unnecessary to make a profit. I am so sorry Ebby for every taking you there and I miss you every day.
