But I'm stressed about my dog and she did tell me to take my dog to the vet ER but it took her a long time to answer me and tell me the prices for a consolation, then i said ok thank you then she HUNG UP ON ME!!!! Incredible Emergency Services! We have been going here since we moved here late last year, and we have had a great experience with routine care. Well, we were sitting on the couch with Raven, our miniature dachshund, when late yesterday afternoon, we put her down on the floor, and her back legs collapsed and she couldn't walk. The moment I saw it, I knew it was bad. I called our vet, RMSAH, but they couldn't see her. So I called another vet and they said to bring her in right away. I stayed home with our daughter, and my husband took her in. I was balling while I waited, helpless. After bloodwork and a few physical tests, the vet told us we needed to rush her to an emergency neurologist for a ruptured disk that had gone into her spinal cord. It was worst case scenario. I told him we needed her home for one more night, and he gave her a pain medication injection and precautions for the evening. We just held her and cried. We called RMSAH, and they were able to get her in for an emergency appointment this morning. All I did was cry and cuddle her, because we were preparing for the absolute worst. Dr. Bean said there is a chance it isn't ruptured, but displaced, and we can try pain and inflammation control, and rest, for a few weeks to see if it can work itself out. I don't know if I have ever felt more relieved than I did in that moment. I honestly thought we were going to have to put our sweet, sweet girl down at just 4 years old. There isn't a guarantee that she will get better, but there is hope where there wasn't earlier. Dr. Bean was kind and straight forward, exactly what we needed. I have taken my pets to Rocky Mountain Small Animal Hospital for over 15 years. I love the Vets and support staff. They all treat my pets like they were their own family. Over the years I have put down two of my pets and everyone there was so kind and compassionate during the process. Definitely worth the drive from North Denver down to Highlands Ranch for this vet! From the second we walked in as new clients we were very well taken care of and felt very welcome there. The staff was great about answering all of my questions. I was expecting a typical doctor that came in and out and did not spend much time with my dog, but he stayed and was incredibly attentive and answered all of my questions very thoroughly. We took our dogs here to be kenneled and came home with a sick dog. She had diarrhea all over our house. We called and they said to bring her in for a complimentary vet examination. Before bringing her in, our dog had a solid poop but there was red stuff all through it. The vet said that someone probably left a blanket there and all the dogs got into it? I guess the don't watch the dogs when they let them out. The worse part of my experience was the fact that just a few hours before our dog ripped her dew claw 95% of the way off. It was hanging by a thread. We put a bandage on it and took her to our appointment. While there, the nurse told us she wanted to look at the nail and said she would be right back to go remove the bandage in back. She came back 5 mins later with a new bandage on telling us the just pulled it. They didn't even ask us if we wanted to do that. When we went to leave the charged us with a $100 examination fee because apparently the vet looked at her nail while she was in back. We were reluctant to pay but the rude lady at the counter said we can pay it now or pay the invoices we get in the mail later. Not wanting to go to collections, I paid the $100 and decided to share my experience online to make me feel better. If they were nice and explained the the exam was free and that there was some labor in removing the nail, I would have understood and paid it. They were rude and didn't care. I'd go somewhere else. I have been to this animal hospital a few times now. The receptionist is very sweet over the phone and in person. We were seen by Dr.Bean for all of our visits. Our Italian greyhounds love him and so do our dumbo rats. My typical visit would take less then 40 mins from the check in to the time we would leave the office. They also give a discount for boarding two dogs which was very helpful during a move. I would highly recommend this animal hospital. Read Less

Took the pups to Rock Mountain Small Animal Hospital for boarding.... so they only allow pickup from 5-6 on Sundays but here's the catch: since you don't pick up before 3 pm THEY CHARGE YOU FOR AN EXTRA DAY EVEN THOUGH ITS THIER OWN POLICY TO NOT ALLOW YOU TO PICK UP ANY OTHER TIME THAT DAY. So we paid 46 buck FOR 2 hours. I told the lady that was not my fault that their policy forces me to go past 3 o'clock but she said " most places don't even let you pick up on Sunday's" I will be speaking to their office manager about this. This review is a long time coming. We recently took our best friend, Ed, in to Rocky Mountain. We already knew what was coming. After 14 amazing years with him, it was time to let him go. Dr. Bean was absolutely amazing! The respect for us, and the respect for Ed was beyond anything we could have expected. He made this experience for us one of peace and pain-free. Another of our favorite doctors, Dr. Clark, must have heard because she stopped in to give her condolences and let us know what a great dog and friend Ed was. Took our rescue kitten from Puerto Rico in today for a checkup and worm treatment, and the experience couldn't have been better. Everyone was so nice, and the vet (Dr. Tancher) was so knowledgeable and explained everything clearly. Our cat got a initial physical, a vaccination, ear cleaning, and an oral worm treatment and our bill was only $85.00! Dr. Bean is one of the nicest people I have ever met. The experience was wonderful and my cat was never nervous or anxious ...once we got away from those dogs in the waiting room :-) I have had bad experiences in the past at a place that supposedly specialized in cats only and this experience was very different. My dog had never been good at vet offices, often they have to muzzle him and some flat out refused to vaccinate him due to his behavior. He has been to MANY different vet clinics and he never did well at them. Once I brought him to Rocky Mountain Small Animal he has done much better. Their staff is excellent and the vets treat the dogs like their own. My dog has been there for vaccines, emergency care and he's done wonderfully with them and their pricing is way more competitve than most. I used to only trust RMSAH with my pets. Then I had a small animal die because they were sloppy. The stitching opened up, I had to take her to an after hours clinic that charged me several hundred dollars more before Rocky Mountain would see me again, THEN they charged me to stitch up their lousy job AND the animal died because it became infected and I couldn't afford ANOTHER visit. Rocky Mountain, your service used to be great, I used to recommend you to EVERYONE but after this I think you are lousy, money grubbing scum. You cared more about charging for fixing your mistakes than you did for taking care of the customers and their animals. You lack compassion and service and I hope that your bank account goes as bankrupt as your morality. Oh yeah, and when someone comes to drop off an animal, GOOD customer service is NOT having them wait 30 minutes for some nurse to saunter up front and take the animal. You've got TONS of front office staff, don't waste people's time waiting around while your gabby nurses blather back and forth and no one can be bothered to attend to the animals.Read Less
