I have gone to this vet for 5 years but I'm done. Unless I specifically requested Mary Esh as the vet my dogs were either mis diagnosed or completely neglected treatment. The vets are very young right out of school and their attitude is pretentious.
Things always seem very disorganised and today when I brought my dog in for an ear and anal sac infection I left with the medications they prescribed but then realised they had not even addressed his anal sac infection.
I called them back and they told me they forgot and that I would need to come back in and then wanted to charge me for another appointment and when I told them it should be at no cost I was given a rude and passive aggressive attitude.
There's a word I can't think of when people think they are great but there actually incompetent, whatever that word is that's what it's like this place.

We have been seeing Dr. Kugler for our dogs for years; and she and her staff of wonderful vet techs are always very knowledgeable, patient and kind. We always feel like our puppy is their only patient. They take care of her like she were their own. In fact after our puppy’s spay operation last week, Dr. Kugler had her resting right next to her office. Lafayette Companion Animal Hospital is the perfect place for us.

I have a 15 year old lab who needed her teeth cleaned. The procedure went great and she tolerated the anesthesia well. I took her home and she was still a bit wobbly but fine. By the next day she couldn't walk was panting and wouldn't stop whimpering. I called and after talking to the vet decided to change her pain meds. It turns out she was one of the rare few to have a bad reaction to the meds. Everyone there was concerned and helpful.

A couple of days ago, the Lafayette Companion Animal Hospital clean Jim Bob’s teeth and extract 8 of them. He is a chihuahua and he won’t let anyone near his mouth unless he is heavily sedated. The staff managed to get him prepared first thing in the morning and the doctor called during the procedure to let me know how it was going. They did a great job. Jim Bob is recovering whiningly but he started eating late lat night so he will be fine.

I have been very happy with the care my pets have received at Lafayette Companion Animal Hospital. Dr.'s Esh and Kugler are both very kind and attentive to my pet's needs whether for a general check-up or for a health concern. I've interacted with the 3 vet techs and they are all wonderful and care a lot for the animal's well-being. I have been taking my pets here for several years, first with pet rats and now with cats.
I don't have an idea of how their prices compare to other vets, as the only other vet care I have received has been specialty care, and I have not priced other vets in the area. I have been happy with the value.

We are super happy with Lafayette Companion Animal Hospital. Dr. Kugler is amazing and always helps to make sure our animals feel comfortable and cared for. She gives us many options that fit our pets needs as well as understanding our financial limitations. They are so great about remembering each pet and are honestly just wonderful and friendly people. The staff at the Lafayette Companion Animal Hospital are so warm, professional and helpful. We took in a rescue cat who had some health issues. First we took our cat to a different vet for a check up and his condition went completely unnoticed. When we realized he was ill, we took him to the Lafayette Companion vet team where our cat was treated with love, started on antibiotics and on a swift road to recovery. We are so grateful for Dr. Esh and the entire team.

I started bringing my cats, Agnes and Gladys, here when they were kittens and have been happy with their professionalism and how sweet the staff is toward the animals. Dr. Kugler is the best. When my cat Gladys was severely ill on a Saturday, she gave me options for emergency vets explaining the pros and cons of each. In the end my sweet Gladys didn't make it but companion Animal Hospital sent a card signed by their staff, I got a call from Dr. Kugler and she was extra gentle with me the next time I was in there with my other cat. Their prices are fair and I feel that they are very knowledgeable about animal care, more than other vets I've talked to.

Lafayette Companion Animal Hospital provided me with the best experience that I've ever had at the vet. Dr. Kugler took excellent care of my kitten for a complex dental procedure. She was incredibly kind and called me during the surgery to ask me how I wanted to move forward and to answer any of my questions. After the procedure she explained everything that happened during the procedure (she even showed me his x-rays) and walked me through my kitten's after procedure care. The vet techs are so kind and thorough and I can tell that they really love their job. The office is incredibly clean and welcoming. I will continue to come to Lafayette Companion Animal Hospital for all of my pet's needs!

I initially went to this office last year to have a leopard gecko put to sleep as she was suffering from horrible seizures and paralysis. They were very compassionate and caring even though I had never been there before. I now have a leopard gecko who I suspected had an upper respiratory infection. He also had not eaten for 2 weeks. I did not have to wait long for an appointment. Brandi was extremely kind. Dr. Esh saw my Merlin and gave him a LOT of attention, listening well to how I have his husbandry and listening for a long time to his lungs. She was very knowledgeable about this species. She determined he did in fact have a URI. I was given Baytril. The seal on the bottle was not very good and it fell on its side at my home and all leaked out. I was able to pick up more that same day. I was charged for it, which is understandable, but they did not charge me full price. I am happy to report that my leopard gecko is doing much better and eating again. I will be going back. In fact, I already have an appointment scheduled for my guinea pig to be seen. Thank you all so much for your dedication to caring for animals!!

We just had our first visit to Lafayette Companion Animal Hospital, and I am beyond pleased. Our cat is a sensitive soul and has a lot of anxiety about going to the vet, but this was hands down his best visit. We've tried a few. Dr. Kugler and her staff were extraordinary - caring, knowledgable and patient. We were not pressured to do anything, and I appreciated the time everyone took to answer our questions and help us make informed decisions about future care. I think we've finally found our veterinary home.

my dog was suffering from patchy fur, scabs, weight gain and lazyness. we did many trips to a vet and given only anti-biotics and advice to find what he's allergic to.
then i went to dr kugler. 10 minutes later (maybe 5), she suspected a thyroid problem. she was right. now my dog has the energy of a train, thick coat, back to his normal weight, happy as can be and has been ever since.
i have since taken 4 other dogs to them. always get great attention, accurate diagnosis, and the best care. i will not take my dogs anywhere else unless recommended by them.
these folks know their business and love animals.

Not only are the techs knowledgeable and friendly, the doctors are as well. They have been treating our three cats and three dogs for years. They go so far as to send us Christmas gifts which the pets loved! The vets do NOT try to hustle you or make you spend unnecessary money. Actually, they give you cheaper alternatives in regards to which medication to use.
I would HIGHLY recommend this office to anyone within a fifty mile radius!
If they treated people I would be their patient as well.

If you have a desperately sick animal but are short on funds until payday, this is NOT the vet to go to. Brought our poor Golden Retriever in as she was getting worse and worse from some unknown but rapidly escalating cause. Brought her in on Monday, payday is Friday but this vet refused to hold a check until Friday. I understand they are in the business of caring for animals not being a financial institution but when the dog is dying and we don't have any cash until payday, seems like an exception could be made. But not here. And after explaining our situation and asking for only the absolute necessary services, it was still $400 for blood work, IV, x-rays and such. The doc seems knowledgeable so if you have plenty of money this is probably a fine place to go but don't count on any compassion from these people. Facility profitability is clearly the most important aspect of their care.

I have gone to this vet for 5 years but I'm done. Unless I specifically requested Mary Esh as the vet my dogs were either mis diagnosed or completely neglected treatment. The vets are very young right out of school and their attitude is pretentious.
Things always seem very disorganised and today when I brought my dog in for an ear and anal sac infection I left with the medications they prescribed but then realised they had not even addressed his anal sac infection.
I called them back and they told me they forgot and that I would need to come back in and then wanted to charge me for another appointment and when I told them it should be at no cost I was given a rude and passive aggressive attitude.
There's a word I can't think of when people think they are great but there actually incompetent, whatever that word is that's what it's like this place.

I have a 15 year old lab who needed her teeth cleaned. The procedure went great and she tolerated the anesthesia well. I took her home and she was still a bit wobbly but fine. By the next day she couldn't walk was panting and wouldn't stop whimpering. I called and after talking to the vet decided to change her pain meds. It turns out she was one of the rare few to have a bad reaction to the meds. Everyone there was concerned and helpful.

A couple of days ago, the Lafayette Companion Animal Hospital clean Jim Bob’s teeth and extract 8 of them. He is a chihuahua and he won’t let anyone near his mouth unless he is heavily sedated. The staff managed to get him prepared first thing in the morning and the doctor called during the procedure to let me know how it was going. They did a great job. Jim Bob is recovering whiningly but he started eating late lat night so he will be fine.

I have been very happy with the care my pets have received at Lafayette Companion Animal Hospital. Dr.'s Esh and Kugler are both very kind and attentive to my pet's needs whether for a general check-up or for a health concern. I've interacted with the 3 vet techs and they are all wonderful and care a lot for the animal's well-being. I have been taking my pets here for several years, first with pet rats and now with cats.
I don't have an idea of how their prices compare to other vets, as the only other vet care I have received has been specialty care, and I have not priced other vets in the area. I have been happy with the value.

We are super happy with Lafayette Companion Animal Hospital. Dr. Kugler is amazing and always helps to make sure our animals feel comfortable and cared for. She gives us many options that fit our pets needs as well as understanding our financial limitations. They are so great about remembering each pet and are honestly just wonderful and friendly people. The staff at the Lafayette Companion Animal Hospital are so warm, professional and helpful. We took in a rescue cat who had some health issues. First we took our cat to a different vet for a check up and his condition went completely unnoticed. When we realized he was ill, we took him to the Lafayette Companion vet team where our cat was treated with love, started on antibiotics and on a swift road to recovery. We are so grateful for Dr. Esh and the entire team.

I started bringing my cats, Agnes and Gladys, here when they were kittens and have been happy with their professionalism and how sweet the staff is toward the animals. Dr. Kugler is the best. When my cat Gladys was severely ill on a Saturday, she gave me options for emergency vets explaining the pros and cons of each. In the end my sweet Gladys didn't make it but companion Animal Hospital sent a card signed by their staff, I got a call from Dr. Kugler and she was extra gentle with me the next time I was in there with my other cat. Their prices are fair and I feel that they are very knowledgeable about animal care, more than other vets I've talked to.

Lafayette Companion Animal Hospital provided me with the best experience that I've ever had at the vet. Dr. Kugler took excellent care of my kitten for a complex dental procedure. She was incredibly kind and called me during the surgery to ask me how I wanted to move forward and to answer any of my questions. After the procedure she explained everything that happened during the procedure (she even showed me his x-rays) and walked me through my kitten's after procedure care. The vet techs are so kind and thorough and I can tell that they really love their job. The office is incredibly clean and welcoming. I will continue to come to Lafayette Companion Animal Hospital for all of my pet's needs!

I initially went to this office last year to have a leopard gecko put to sleep as she was suffering from horrible seizures and paralysis. They were very compassionate and caring even though I had never been there before. I now have a leopard gecko who I suspected had an upper respiratory infection. He also had not eaten for 2 weeks. I did not have to wait long for an appointment. Brandi was extremely kind. Dr. Esh saw my Merlin and gave him a LOT of attention, listening well to how I have his husbandry and listening for a long time to his lungs. She was very knowledgeable about this species. She determined he did in fact have a URI. I was given Baytril. The seal on the bottle was not very good and it fell on its side at my home and all leaked out. I was able to pick up more that same day. I was charged for it, which is understandable, but they did not charge me full price. I am happy to report that my leopard gecko is doing much better and eating again. I will be going back. In fact, I already have an appointment scheduled for my guinea pig to be seen. Thank you all so much for your dedication to caring for animals!!

We just had our first visit to Lafayette Companion Animal Hospital, and I am beyond pleased. Our cat is a sensitive soul and has a lot of anxiety about going to the vet, but this was hands down his best visit. We've tried a few. Dr. Kugler and her staff were extraordinary - caring, knowledgable and patient. We were not pressured to do anything, and I appreciated the time everyone took to answer our questions and help us make informed decisions about future care. I think we've finally found our veterinary home.

my dog was suffering from patchy fur, scabs, weight gain and lazyness. we did many trips to a vet and given only anti-biotics and advice to find what he's allergic to.
then i went to dr kugler. 10 minutes later (maybe 5), she suspected a thyroid problem. she was right. now my dog has the energy of a train, thick coat, back to his normal weight, happy as can be and has been ever since.
i have since taken 4 other dogs to them. always get great attention, accurate diagnosis, and the best care. i will not take my dogs anywhere else unless recommended by them.
these folks know their business and love animals.

Not only are the techs knowledgeable and friendly, the doctors are as well. They have been treating our three cats and three dogs for years. They go so far as to send us Christmas gifts which the pets loved! The vets do NOT try to hustle you or make you spend unnecessary money. Actually, they give you cheaper alternatives in regards to which medication to use.
I would HIGHLY recommend this office to anyone within a fifty mile radius!
If they treated people I would be their patient as well.

If you have a desperately sick animal but are short on funds until payday, this is NOT the vet to go to. Brought our poor Golden Retriever in as she was getting worse and worse from some unknown but rapidly escalating cause. Brought her in on Monday, payday is Friday but this vet refused to hold a check until Friday. I understand they are in the business of caring for animals not being a financial institution but when the dog is dying and we don't have any cash until payday, seems like an exception could be made. But not here. And after explaining our situation and asking for only the absolute necessary services, it was still $400 for blood work, IV, x-rays and such. The doc seems knowledgeable so if you have plenty of money this is probably a fine place to go but don't count on any compassion from these people. Facility profitability is clearly the most important aspect of their care.
