I love this place! My dog Bruiser is seen here and they all take great care of him. He's been through so much in his life and my opinion deserves great care and they definitely show him love! I recently moved out of the area (30 miles almost) and regretfully had to find someone closer. After finding out that the other place wasn't nearly as good I was happy to come back to 4 paws. For me it's worth the drive and I told myself I wouldn't go anywhere else from here on out. They take pride in their work and all of them are very professional, understanding and trustworthy. Dr. Kim Landin is tops in my book. She is knowledgeable, kind and compassionate. The staff here is great. This used to be my clinic and it would still be if I didn't move out of state. This is an amazing pet clinic. The prices are great, the staff is wonderful and my cats love it there! My third visit here with my dog. Made an appointment, walked in and stood in front of the bad tempered receptionist who simply ignored me. Gave me an open mouthed yawn so I could see her nasty teeth and greeted me with the word "What?" Turned around and walked out. I disagree with the person that said there must be more of a relationship and not to trust these reviews. I have tried the other Vets and Hospitals with other pets and was not happy with not only the wait time but also the high-priced fees and no understanding of what happened or why. Several vets would not take my rescue unless I neutered him but he had a severe heart condition and could not even take a risk of getting his teeth cleaned let alone get him neutered. He was never in an environment where he was around other dogs to be a threat to anyone so I can't understand what the big deal was. Dr. Landen is a very kind, compassionate person that talks to you at length to help you understand the situation your pet is in and goes over the choices with you and lets you decide how you want to handle a very difficult situation. Oh and I have only waited more than 30 minutes 1 time because a dog came in that just got hit by a car so it was an emergency that he go in before us, I would hope someone else would give me the same consideration had it been my pet. I am a new client to Drs. Landin and Miller and the 4 Paws clinic, and they are now my permanent veterinarian. Like many other reviewers, I could not care less that this clinic isn't spa-like with upscale furnishings, coffee, etc. like some other clinics (and believe me, you WILL pay for those extra amenities, and they have nothing to do with the care your pet will get!). The vets at 4 Paws are kind, compassionate and above all, knowledgeable, which is what I want in my vet. I've had pets my entire life, and I have never had a vet take the time to review x-rays and educate me about the physiology of my dog's spine the way Dr. Landin did. The clinic is busy.. there's no doubt about that, because they have a lot of clients (which should tell you something), but I have not felt rushed or ignored any time I've been there. As we speak my baby is at 4 paws getting a surgery done. My family has been going to 4 paws for over 11 years. And I must say Dr.Landen is a super busy women who dosent sugar coat stuff, and is very honest. She has saved my 1 dogs life once and Is doing it again. I have had my 1 dogs cherry eyes done here, I have had my dog saved from swallowing a fuzzy bear here. And little one is going threw a Pyometra surgery as we speak. Dr. Landin and her team have been my families and extended families Veterinarian for roughly 25 years. When Dr. Landin first started out she only made house calls and used to come to our home, she later moved to an office near Colfax and Allison where we took our dogs, and even laid one to rest with her. Over the course of the last 20 years Dr. Landin has since moved to a larger facility and has remained the most inexpensive and caring Veterinarian that we know. We have recommended she and her staff to several friends who have continued their animal's care with 4 Paws. This clinic has not only operated on several of my animals but has been there for me to lay several to rest. I put my 18 yr old cat down in their office just yesterday and when the vet technician cried with me and Dr. Landin hugged me I felt so reassured that I had done the right thing and knew my baby was in the right hands. Dr. Landin has always showed genuine honesty and care for my animal's and even took it upon herself to cover a biopsy on my senior kitty to help me discover that he did in fact  have cancer. I will never take any of my animal's to any other place, this is by far, the best. Don't judge the place by the appearance, judge the care your animals are receiving as that's what is important. My family has taken our pets here for over 20 years. On occasion you run into someone having a bad day, who doesn't? it's hard work.Dr. Landin and her staff are the most compassionate people in the business. She has a better connection with animals than with people, I'm fine with that. I'm fine with the office and decor, im LOVING the prices. All of this shows they are in the business for the right reasons. If you want to take your animal to some urban spa and are "offended" by the decor, get over yourself. If you don't like the care or suggestions being offered, say so...you are your animals keeper. Don't blame someone else for your inability to speak up. If you want a vet that puts your animal as a priority while respecting your wishes AND being reasonably priced, go to 4 Paws. I have never in all my times going there had an issue with a lack of empathy, communication, or understanding. If there are people who have seen attitude issues, I would guess its because its a reflection of their own. And if you really have an issue, take it up with the doc, they listen, and listen well. The times I have had to put an animal down, DR. Landin and her staff were there in solidarity, crying with me. Kim and staff are super good to my pups, in fact, they helped us adopt our second dog from an elderly couple who also used 4paws' vet services. Everyone is super gentle and sweet to both dogs when giving vaccinations, taking xrays and general handling. They even spayed my youngest dog for a great price since she was rehomed. These guys were awesome!! All of these low reviews are confusing to me. Every person we spoke with was incredibly polite and knowledgeable.  The gal that handled our 2 dogs was gentle, efficient, and very good at her job.  Lastly, the cost was extremely fair.  This place came highly recommended to me from a friend at work and his stellar recommendation turned out to be on the money.  I would question these other reviews and wonder if perhaps they're spamming from another clinic or something - they're just so far from the truth.  Go here - you'll be happy you did. Read all of the reviews and wanted to cry! I just lost my beloved Shih Tzu ""Cocoa"" who was 11 1/2 years old and had been seeing Dr. Landin since she was 8 wks old.. She took the time to call me and offer her condolences and assure me that it was the best option for Cocoa as she was suffering with Cushings disease and Diabetes. Does your ""fancy Vets with their upscale offices ""take their time to call you after hours? I don't think so! Dr. Landin has been nothing but caring,and willing to work with you on expensive proceedures. As for the staff- I find nothing wrong with piercings and tattoos; it does not mean that person is uncaring or uncompassionate. Sounds to me like someone is very biggotted and needs a reality check. First off, I can overlook the 70's decor, the ratty chairs and the fact that you can hear the exam going on next door. So can my cat. What my cat and I did not appreciate was the exam rooms being right next to the waiting area. So while we were waiting for her 10:15am appointment, we heard a cat in one of the exam rooms being positively TORTURED. My cat, who is very laid back and docile, started hissing and growling after several minutes of hearing the other cat howling. She never hisses and never growls at anything or anyone. She stayed like that all the way through the exam and finally calmed down when we got her in the car (which she hates). Because she was agitated, two vets had to pin her down to perform the exam. The sides of her ears turned purple from how hard they were holding her neck and head. We eventually got her a shot for her laryngitis and ended up paying $25 for it. And then $50 for an office visit. $50! When we lived in SoCal, we had a great vet who let our cats do what they wanted during the exam, didn't cause more agitation and were very gentle and caring. Their office visits cost $15.50 (check 'em out at the Irvine Pet Complex).The vet was pretty knowledgeable, but that is the only thing I will give credit to this place. After the experience, the wait time for a scheduled appointment (45 minutes) and the price we paid, go elsewhere.EDIT: I'd like to add that the shot that was given to my cat apparently stays in her system for up to 60 days and has side effects. My family has used this vet for 15 years because we love how well our dogs are taken care of! We've moved further north, in Broomfield, but still travel down and use Dr. Landin! Sure the place is outdated, but it is clean. If you want to pay alot more for decor when taking your pet, by all means....pay the extra. I don't need fluff and glamour....I'm not a snob. Sure Dr. Landin can be serious and a little gruff, but she is a terrific vet ... takes the time with your pet, fully explains things, very thorough. I'm not there to chat with her, I am there for the best care of my dogs. The techs are a little out there and some are not so socialable, but again, I am not there to make friends. They know my dogs names and they treat me with respect .... and they love animals .... what more do you want?!?! I highly recommend this vet for the low reasonable prices, quality care. Read Less

I had searched everywhere for a place that was caring and helpful and that would take care of my Rhett respectfully without having to pay an arm and leg. These people were wonderful on the phone and wonderful in person. Now I bring Scarlett to see them and I could not be more pleased to see that it wasn't a fluke that I received excellent care the first time we visited them. They are consistently helpful, caring, and respectful of my dogs needs as well as my budget capabilities. I felt no pressure like I have in the past at ""other"" offices. My family has used 4 Paws, Dr. Landin since I was 3 yrs old. In the beginning we had so many animals that Dr. Landin made house calls. The clinic itself has gone through 3 losses in our family of pets and have always given our animals the proper send off to the rainbow ridge. An adult now I use 4 Paws for my cats, and have never, I mean never had a poor experience and have always been able to financially feel confident in their work. I would refer anyone to this clinic! We have taken our cats to 4 Paws since we moved back to Colorado 10 years ago, and wouldn't go any place else! Dr. Kim Landin is so knowledgeable with great diagnostic skills (CSU Grad) and the staff is always ready to provide the best and most gentle care possible for both pets and owners. We had the sad task of having our 19+ year old cat needing Dr. Landin's care to provide euthanasia, and it couldn't have been a better experience for our cat or ourselves. Four Paws was recommended to me by a friend that has been taking her animals to Four Paws for a long time. I have not found the staff to be rude and I did not find the office to be dirty. This is not a high tech office and the furnishings are older but I appreciate these costs not being incorporated into my bill. This is a down to earth no frills vet clinic. My cat has been given great care for amputated digits on one of her paws and Dr. Landen has always been patient, informative, and friendly, as has her staff. The comments I have seen about this clinic have not been poor care to the animals and that is what I find most important. Feel free to overspend at a fancy clinic if that makes you happier. Has no one ever heard the expression ?never judge a book by its cover?? Sure the office decor at 4 Paws is dated, even a bit shabby, BUT it is clean. The staff is friendly and efficient. The reviewer who judged the staff based on tattoos and piercings makes me cringe. I could care less how they interact with ME, I am not the patient. The 4 Paws staff treats my dog wonderfully. Here?s my anecdote. I recently moved to Littleton and made the mistake of going to another closer vet. I walked in and saw that they offer free coffee with fancy schmancy flavors and designer collars lined the wall. Cool, right? Big whoop. The vet tech scooped my dog up and took him to the back, leaving me behind!! I was shocked and angry. 4 Paws has never left me in the waiting room. So I sat alone, sipping stupid coffee, wondering what the HECK is going on with my dog and then I paid 3 times more than I used to at 4 Paws. I will make the drive to 4 Paws from now on. Read Less

I now live in Parker and still take the pups to Lakewood. I went for a shadow day here for a high school project a couple months ago and i loved the way it was run. all the rooms are clean, the animals are taken care of and the people are cared for as well. i also had the opprutinity to watch some sugeries and they were very orderly and the animals well looked after. i saw no difficulties in the way they proceeded with patients, although some people were rude to the vets, which in turn made them a bit cranky. if you are nice to the vets though, they are just as pleasent back! the staff is willing to answer all questions openly. they also do housecalls. this really is a great place to take your animal. I brought a 2week old kitten who had been abused neglected, and a eye was buldging out. The vet took a look and assured me that he would be taken care of properly and he was. At 2 weeks old the vet had taken it to an eye surgen had its eye removed sewed up and he had just gone thru major surgery. He was not going to make it but the staff and the dr took such great care of the kitty he is now 9mnths old does fine without the eye, and perfectly healthy. The steps they took to save this little kitten were a mazing and guess who paid for it out of there pocket the dr and staff. They are wounderful people who really try there best to give all the pets and strays a fighting chance, when they could just put the strays to sleep and it would cost less. Everytime I go in there they always have kittys that have been abandonded and trying to find them homes. I could not be more pleased with the service, and the vet. The last review sounds suspiciously like the vet wrote it as an advertisement rather than an objective consumer. First of all, it is reasonable and natural to judge a clinic by the first impression which would be the cleanliness and up-keep. When I walked in the door it reminded me of the dirty and run down clinics in Mexico. I had the appointment didn?t want to just walk out but believe me I wanted to. I should have followed my heart! I tried to not judge the staff by the way they looked but multiple piercings and tattoos are a red-flag to me. The front desk people should look professional and be friendly. They were snooty and had the warmth of a corpse. The Vet is also about as friendly as a prison matron. She was rushed and was put-out by my questions regarding the condition of my dog that had a stomach condition. She gave me the impression she was playing beat the clock and brushed over one possible reason for my dog?s health issue she quickly wrote something on a clip-board and left the room. I was still standing there trying to finish a question when I found myself alone with my dog in the examination room! My gosh?I could have gone to a gas station and received more individualized attention for my pet concerns. Look this is serious!!! I expect the vet to spend enough time with me to discuss my beloved animal?s issues. I didn?t go there because I love throwing money out the window. I also demand to be spoken to with respect and kindness. That was enough for me! I paid, got in my car and called Wheat Ridge Animal Hospital, they fit me in after lunch and it was a completely different world!!! PLEASE, LOVE YOUR PET ENOUGH TO RESEARCH VETRANARIAN REVIEWS. Anticipate the need for a vet in your pet?s future. If you have a spare moment, do a quick little visit and check to see what the clinic looks like. We have always been impressed with the interested, professional care that our pets have been given at 4 Paws Animal Clinic. Clients for many years, we have always been partners with the veterinarians there and have been invited to consider any tests or procedures recommended for our pets. The clinic is always busy. This is a sign that many people regard 4 Paws as a place where they can trust the care that they receive for their animals. Our pets have also been seen after work hours in the evenings and we always receive follow-up calls from staff and veterinarians to check on the status our our pets. As a bonus to great service, 4 Paws Animal Clinic charges less than many clinics in the area. I highly recommend 4 Paws Animal Clinic ... but then, I've never expected a veterinarian's office to look like an upscale resort. Read Less

I don't understand that negative review. We've taken our dogs to Four Paws ever since they were tiny puppies, and we have always found the staff to be excellent, and the vet to be concerned and competent. I've never felt any problem with trying to sell us unnecessary services, and the people who work there genuinely love animals. We even get follow up phone calls to make sure our animals are doing okay. If that reviewer's standard for veterinary care is whether you'd go there to get your own medical care, that's just moronic. Last time I looked, animals don't sign consent forms. The main concern is whether the vet and staff are able to make the animal feel at ease and correctly diagnose and treat problems. There's a reason Four Paws is always busy. That's because they know what they are doing there, fees are reasonable, and our dogs (and my wife and I) really like the people who work there. Read Less

BEWARE OF THIS CLINIC.  My sister used them for an adopted pet because the former owner had used them.  She took the dog in for an examination.  They told her the dog needed his teeth cleaned.  After she had it done she discovered by seeing the file which the receptionist had out, THEY ALREADY CLEANED HIS TEETH 2.5 months earlier!!!! It is cruel and dangerous to put a dog under general anesthetic and perform an unnecessary teeth cleaning.  It is only recommended once per year according to the veterinary school in Ft. Collins.  I would never ever use 4 Paws under any circumstances.  There are so many other competent honest vets in the Lakewood area. There is no way for the to spin this story.  It happened exactly as I am telling you.  I don't normally post on the internet, but I felt a duty to warn other pet owners. Read Less

The clinic is dirty, run down and reminded me of what you would find in Juarez Mexico.  I'm not trying to be cute, that's the way it looked.  Location is great which is why I tried them.  But I wouldn't want to go to a doctor for myself that had an office that was a mess..  The way you keep your home or shop is a reflection on your work.  I love my pets.....it's not worth risking their health.  I think I should get a few minutes of the vets time, but she rushes in and out didn't seem to listen to me or give a damn what I thought.  I'm looking for a doc that will listen and not be so aloof.
