My husband and I couldn't ask for a better place to take our two dogs! They are our "children", and we want the best care for them available. We primarily see Dr. Howard, but Dr. Wilkes and Dr. Hart are great too! Dr. Howard not only tells me what is best for them but why it is. He is very thorough in his evaluations. Being in healthcare myself, I love the science behind the method, and he is an excellent resource. His experience over the years, and his continued commitment to learning makes me completely confident in his treatment. The techs always greet us with the friendliest welcome when we walk in the door! They treat my boys with such a gentle and loving manner. I actually think they like going there! They are also mindful of cost, and I have never felt that they are recommending anything just to "upsale". I wouldn't take my boys anywhere else!

We've been customers since my cat became deathly ill a couple years ago. With the dedicated help of Dr. Howard, Dr. Wilks (and the whole staff really) my cat survived a pretty big ordeal. Now I'm a customer for life - and so are our three kitties! Their level of service is way above and beyond any other vet I've ever been to and. Honestly, it's just a nice inviting atmosphere and everybody I've ever dealt with has been great. They know how to treat their customers. I have a hard time believing somebody gave them a one star review.

For the past 3 decades, we have enjoyed wonderful customer service and top-notch diagnoses and treatment of our beloved cats from the staff at Alameda Vet Clinic. All of the DVMs and techs have been very courteous and professional during all phases of care from the initial appointment request through outpatient follow-up. Through many stressful visits over the years when our cats needed critical care, we were reassured that they were receiving the best medical attention. We(and our cats) have been especially grateful for that. We highly recommend their first-class service.

My dog was 13 years old and I was currently at another vet. He needed to be seen on a Saturday but the vet I currently went to was not open Saturday. I called VCA Saturday morning and they were able to see me in a few hours. They were so very helpful and so nice. My dog only lasted a few months longer and when I had to make the hardest decision of my life, they understood and made it as easy as the process could be. They walked me through it step by step gave me options if I wanted to be in the room or not (also, what if i wanted his ashes or not). Everyone was so very respectful and sincere. I received a very nice card a week later after my loss. I will continue to take my animals to them as long as I am in the vicinity of this location!

I can't come up with words to describe how wonderful the doctors and staff are at Alameda Vet Clinic. They have taken care of my pets since 2009 and I have never been disappointed. They are kind, caring, and explain what's going on. Recently my dog, Bob, was very sick. Dr. O called almost every day to check up on him while he was home recovering. Absolutely the best!

My dog had been a patient for 2 over years. We had only gone in for yearly vaccines and check ups. But a month ago I call to see if I could get my dog in because he was sick and declining quickly. I called at 330 on a Friday, their office closes at 530. The receptionist told me they were no longer accepting patience for the day. Period. They wouldn't see us. To me a good veterinarian would fit in a long standing patient especially if they are sick. My dog ended up having pneumonia with a severely high fever on the verge of having a seizure. But thanks to Fox Hollow vet clinic who had never seen my dog got us in and treated with in the hour of my call. Alamida vet clinic has lost my respect and trust and will not be returning.

We have had nothing but good experience at Alameda Vet Clinic. The place is clean, the staff friendly and so far the Doctors have run on schedule. We had an emergency when our dog Twinkie developed an issue and she was brought in incredibly ill without appointment. Dr. Howard was called at home and he broke all traffic laws to get to the clinic to treat her and boy do we appreciate that! Our cat, Oliver has seen Dr. O and receives kisses from him and that amuses me but the cat doesn't seem to mind!

Dr Howard has been a blessing to find for our toy poodle's health care. His love of animals is evident in every contact we have had with him, and I dare say after more than 20 years in the Veterinary field that love and compassion can be hard to come by. He doesn't do things that aren't medically necessary and doesn't charge an arm and a leg for his services. We just got a new puppy, so hopefully, the new dog will be able to count on his services for a long time to come. Thank you, Dr. Howard, and Alameda Veterinary Clinic!

Alameda Vet has been the most amazing provider of veterinary services I've ever had in all my years of owning pets. Dr. Howard is the most caring, thoughtful, knowledgeable, and passionate vet I've every had the pleasure of bringing my dogs to. When my Golden was dying, Dr. Howard and his staff stayed 2 hours after close on a Saturday to perform emergency surgery to save his life. We had to put him to sleep that night, and Dr. Howard never billed us for the surgery.
I will be taking all my pets here until the day I die. In fact, I've transitioned my mother, boyfriend, and a friend from their cookie-cutter corporate vets over to Alameda Vet. They are a truly amazing team of wonderfully caring individuals at Alameda Vet.

I have had dogs all my life. I have been to many vets and seen the ones that are in it for animals and the ones that are just in it for the money. My husband and I have 2 dogs. Our senior dog is about 9 years old. We left for a weekend and while we were gone the person that watched her said she became extremely sick. When we got back she was vomiting and extremely dehydrated. She looked terrible and in shock. We could not get her to eat or drink. Knowing her age I knew this could be something big however I needed to get her treated immediately especially with how dehydrated she was. I went to Dr. Howard and after he looked at her for maybe 2 minutes said she needed to be hospitalized and all he wanted to talk was "quotes" of money because it wasn't going to be cheap. I love my dog very much but what he was asking to give me no answers when my dog is this dehydrated was ridiculous. I took her somewhere else where a vet gave us options and was reasonable. She treated my dog right then and got her hydrated again. She has made a full recovery. I don't like to give bad reviews, but I did not have a good experience here. I was in an extremely emotional state about my dog and he wouldn't give me any answers or options without wanting $500 +. I'm sure he is a good vet but I'm glad I got a second opinion from another one.

This vet clinic and the staff are incredible! They would have 5-stars from me if they could just get a handle on their systems. Too many times I've shown up to get a medication to find out it never processed or tried to pay a bill they couldn't pull up. That is really my only complaint, I'd give them a 4.8 star rating if it was available.The doctors there are so knowledgeable and love our pets. Doc Howard is the gentleman I have had the benefit of seeing the most and he isn't just a great vet, he is just plain a good person. They do so much more for less than other vets out there. You can't put enough value on the experience level here. While other vets rely on multiple tests in ever-increasing price, you get more of "I've seen this hundreds of times" and he has never been wrong. Other vets I have paid hundreds of dollars in tests to have them come back with "no idea" and incorrect diagnosis. Issues that my dog has had for years at hundreds of dollars per visit with our previous vet were properly diagnosed on the first visit and she is on meds that have fixed the condition and kept the condition at bay ever since then. She is nearly 15 years old, we were considering putting her to sleep because her quality of life was so consistently bad. 3 months with Alameda Vet Clinic and Doctor Howard and she is acting like she did 7 years ago. We think she could live to be a happy 20 year old at this rate. Sami loves Dr. Howard despite all of the poking and prodding!

Dr. Howard, his partners, and their staff are quite simply phenomenal. Best vet I've ever been to (in some 30+ years of having dogs and cats). We've been taking our border collie, Otto, to Dr. Howard for 6 years now, and are constantly amazed with how easily he relates to our dog and the level of care he gives.Otto recently escaped from the backyard and wandered around downtown Denver for a few solid hours. We found him with a big gash on his head, soaking wet from the rain, and more than a little scared. The folks at Alameda Veterinary Clinic fit us in immediately, and gave him the attention he needed in a familiar environment.Over the past few years, we've moved closer to downtown Denver, but still keep coming back due to a number of things:1) their (dog) bed-side manner. Even when we were unable to see our normal vet (Dr. Howard, in the last-minute emergency visit above), all the other staff has been amazing with our border collie.2) their no-nonsense recommendations for our pup's health (no sales pitches here - Dr. Howard tells you your options, but also tells you straight up when a particular procedure isn't necessary at this time)and 3) their obvious love of animals. Most vet's don't do it for the money. Their prices aren't anything they're going to get rich off of. But even if the prices were higher, the level of care would likely still bring us back.Phenomenal people. Great service. Very affordable. Can't recommend them highly enough.

For the past 3 decades, we have enjoyed wonderful customer service and top-notch diagnoses and treatment of our beloved cats from the staff at Alameda Vet Clinic. All of the DVMs and techs have been very courteous and professional during all phases of care from the initial appointment request through outpatient follow-up. Through many stressful visits over the years when our cats needed critical care, we were reassured that they were receiving the best medical attention. We(and our cats) have been especially grateful for that. We highly recommend their first-class service.

My dog was 13 years old and I was currently at another vet. He needed to be seen on a Saturday but the vet I currently went to was not open Saturday. I called VCA Saturday morning and they were able to see me in a few hours. They were so very helpful and so nice. My dog only lasted a few months longer and when I had to make the hardest decision of my life, they understood and made it as easy as the process could be. They walked me through it step by step gave me options if I wanted to be in the room or not (also, what if i wanted his ashes or not). Everyone was so very respectful and sincere. I received a very nice card a week later after my loss. I will continue to take my animals to them as long as I am in the vicinity of this location!

Go here to get checkup visits and vaccinations done for my two border collies. Staff is very nice, the doctors are very knowledgeable. I highly recommend Dr. Wilks and the Alameda Veterinary Clinic.

They are kind, caring, and explain what's going on. Recently my dog, Bob, was very sick. Dr. O called almost every day to check up on him while he was home recovering. Absolutely the best!

My dog had been a patient for 2 over years. We had only gone in for yearly vaccines and check ups. But a month ago I call to see if I could get my dog in because he was sick and declining quickly. I called at 330 on a Friday, their office closes at 530. The receptionist told me they were no longer accepting patience for the day. Period. They wouldn't see us. To me a good veterinarian would fit in a long standing patient especially if they are sick. My dog ended up having pneumonia with a severely high fever on the verge of having a seizure. But thanks to Fox Hollow vet clinic who had never seen my dog got us in and treated with in the hour of my call. Alamida vet clinic has lost my respect and trust and will not be returning.

We have had nothing but good experience at Alameda Vet Clinic. The place is clean, the staff friendly and so far the Doctors have run on schedule. We had an emergency when our dog Twinkie developed an issue and she was brought in incredibly ill without appointment. Dr. Howard was called at home and he broke all traffic laws to get to the clinic to treat her and boy do we appreciate that! Our cat, Oliver has seen Dr. O and receives kisses from him and that amuses me but the cat doesn't seem to mind!

Dr Howard has been a blessing to find for our toy poodle's health care. His love of animals is evident in every contact we have had with him, and I dare say after more than 20 years in the Veterinary field that love and compassion can be hard to come by. He doesn't do things that aren't medically necessary and doesn't charge an arm and a leg for his services. We just got a new puppy, so hopefully, the new dog will be able to count on his services for a long time to come. Thank you, Dr. Howard, and Alameda Veterinary Clinic!

Alameda Vet has been the most amazing provider of veterinary services I've ever had in all my years of owning pets. Dr. Howard is the most caring, thoughtful, knowledgeable, and passionate vet I've every had the pleasure of bringing my dogs to. When my Golden was dying, Dr. Howard and his staff stayed 2 hours after close on a Saturday to perform emergency surgery to save his life. We had to put him to sleep that night, and Dr. Howard never billed us for the surgery.
I will be taking all my pets here until the day I die. In fact, I've transitioned my mother, boyfriend, and a friend from their cookie-cutter corporate vets over to Alameda Vet. They are a truly amazing team of wonderfully caring individuals at Alameda Vet.

I have had dogs all my life. I have been to many vets and seen the ones that are in it for animals and the ones that are just in it for the money. My husband and I have 2 dogs. Our senior dog is about 9 years old. We left for a weekend and while we were gone the person that watched her said she became extremely sick. When we got back she was vomiting and extremely dehydrated. She looked terrible and in shock. We could not get her to eat or drink. Knowing her age I knew this could be something big however I needed to get her treated immediately especially with how dehydrated she was. I went to Dr. Howard and after he looked at her for maybe 2 minutes said she needed to be hospitalized and all he wanted to talk was "quotes" of money because it wasn't going to be cheap. I love my dog very much but what he was asking to give me no answers when my dog is this dehydrated was ridiculous. I took her somewhere else where a vet gave us options and was reasonable. She treated my dog right then and got her hydrated again. She has made a full recovery. I don't like to give bad reviews, but I did not have a good experience here. I was in an extremely emotional state about my dog and he wouldn't give me any answers or options without wanting $500 +. I'm sure he is a good vet but I'm glad I got a second opinion from another one.

We have been his patients for almost 20 years. If he is practicing at a clinic, and it meet his standards, I know it is a good and reputable one. We like the Alameda Vet Clinic and LOVE our Dr. O! This vet clinic and the staff are incredible! They would have 5-stars from me if they could just get a handle on their systems. Too many times I've shown up to get a medication to find out it never processed or tried to pay a bill they couldn't pull up. That is really my only complaint, I'd give them a 4.8 star rating if it was available.The doctors there are so knowledgeable and love our pets. Doc Howard is the gentleman I have had the benefit of seeing the most and he isn't just a great vet, he is just plain a good person. They do so much more for less than other vets out there. You can't put enough value on the experience level here. While other vets rely on multiple tests in ever-increasing price, you get more of "I've seen this hundreds of times" and he has never been wrong. Other vets I have paid hundreds of dollars in tests to have them come back with "no idea" and incorrect diagnosis. Issues that my dog has had for years at hundreds of dollars per visit with our previous vet were properly diagnosed on the first visit and she is on meds that have fixed the condition and kept the condition at bay ever since then. She is nearly 15 years old, we were considering putting her to sleep because her quality of life was so consistently bad. 3 months with Alameda Vet Clinic and Doctor Howard and she is acting like she did 7 years ago. We think she could live to be a happy 20 year old at this rate. Sami loves Dr. Howard despite all of the poking and prodding!

Dr. Howard, his partners, and their staff are quite simply phenomenal. Best vet I've ever been to (in some 30+ years of having dogs and cats). We've been taking our border collie, Otto, to Dr. Howard for 6 years now, and are constantly amazed with how easily he relates to our dog and the level of care he gives.Otto recently escaped from the backyard and wandered around downtown Denver for a few solid hours. We found him with a big gash on his head, soaking wet from the rain, and more than a little scared. The folks at Alameda Veterinary Clinic fit us in immediately, and gave him the attention he needed in a familiar environment.Over the past few years, we've moved closer to downtown Denver, but still keep coming back due to a number of things:1) their (dog) bed-side manner. Even when we were unable to see our normal vet (Dr. Howard, in the last-minute emergency visit above), all the other staff has been amazing with our border collie.2) their no-nonsense recommendations for our pup's health (no sales pitches here - Dr. Howard tells you your options, but also tells you straight up when a particular procedure isn't necessary at this time)and 3) their obvious love of animals. Most vet's don't do it for the money. Their prices aren't anything they're going to get rich off of. But even if the prices were higher, the level of care would likely still bring us back.Phenomenal people. Great service. Very affordable. Can't recommend them highly enough.
