This was not a pleasant time for me. My pet cat Buddy just was not himself. I found out he had a tumor and his kidneys were shutting down. It was total hell but I decided to take him out of his pain. I was pleasantly surprised by the beautiful location of Bouton Vet. It is surrounded by multiple horse farms in SW Lakewood! I was able to get in very quickly to check up on my dog's acute issue, the vet and vet tech were fantastic, friendly and efficient, and the cost of my visit was reasonably lower than expected! This place is amazing! We've been taking our pets here for years, but it wasn't until we just got our new puppy that I realized how awesome they are. We called to get him in for a checkup and they got us in that same week (the next day in fact). Then he got stung by a bee and had an allergic reaction. We called to ask if we should bring him in and they had us rush over. Two vet techs met us in the lobby and took him straight back to the veterinarian who treated him right then. They had him all fixed up and ready to leave in 30 min. Also instead of charging us the massive fee for an emergency visit, since it was during business hours they charged us for a regular exam. I recently found out my 5 year old cat had chronic kidney disease and she sadly lost the battle earlier this month. We just moved to the area and were desperate to find a veterinarian as kind, flexible, and friendly as our last vet. We visited Bouton because of their Yelp reviews (even though they are 45 minutes away) and will continue to take our dog, Bowser. Bouton Vet Hospital has been taking care of our fur babies for several years now. They treat our pets like family and our dog actually enjoys going there! I am so happy with this place. My family and I have been coming here for years and they have always been fantastic. Recently my elderly dog had surgery here and it could not have gone any better. Being very worried about the process, I had many questions and concerns that were immediately addressed either over the phone or in person. I would not recommend this vet to my worst enemy. They have horrible customer service, hurt animals, lie about prices, charge for unnecessary tests, and cant make accurate notes in charts. The owners excuse for everything is miss communication on there end. The incompetent receptionist Monica Anthony clipped my dog's vein in his toe so bad that he cried out in pain and had tears on his face. It is very heart breaking for a parent to see there defenseless animal in so much pain because someone isn't properly trained or care about animals. They also lie about how much they are going to charge you, they say one thing and do another. If you care about your pet please don't take them there. They will not be treated right and neither will you.Read Less

Extremely kind and caring.  They provided a quality of life exam for our elderly dog.  They helped us make his last few months comfortable.  When it came time to put him down, they did it outside with our whole family under the trees one very beautiful morning.  They were supportive and caring and made his transition as peaceful and kind as possible.  I cant thank them enough for the highest level of care they provided. Successful businesses benefit greatly from referrals. I'd been referred to BVH by a breeder and brought my little Siberian kitten in for his first round of shots and had him neutered and chipped. My experience was good and the vets I worked with were nice and appeared competent. Naturally, I referred my mother to BVH when she got her kitten. Her experience could not have been more frustrating. The level of incompetence down by the front office staff was astounding. Among other issues, she lives almost an hour away and the office staff scheduled her follow up appointment after the first round of shots. When she arrived for the second appointment she was told it was too early to give the next round of shots and was rudely accused of being at fault and turned away just to drive home another hour, even though the date chosen was recommended by the office staff at the previous appointment. Successful businesses treat their customers with respect and take responsibility for their screw ups. Unsuccessful businesses treat their customers rudely and, in the case of a referral, lose both the referrer and the referee as customers. While my experience was not bad, I will not frequent any business that operates in this fashion and makes me look bad by violating the trust implicitly placed through my referral. Very impressed with this place. Dr. Caldwell was so thorough and kind. She didn't miss a thing! She really took her time to explain things and answered all my questions about my new kitten. Not once did I feel she was in a hurry or trying to rush me out. You can tell she really loves animals and her job. She even brought in a cozy little kitty bed in the exam room for my kitty to relax on, which he loved!!! The whole staff really seem to be very kind. They are very good at following up on your pet. Nice little intimate clinic. My cat is having scabbing around his head from itching. They thought maybe it was an allergic reaction and gave him an antibiotic shot. He seems to still scratch around his head but I have noticed that he does not have as many scabs. The clinic did not try to pry anymore money out of me or try to do unnecessary extensive work for a small problem. They just offered a simple solution and left it at that. They also cleaned out his dirty ears <3 I prefer this clinic over a major chain any day. Read Less

We just moved to the area and were looking for a new vet for our 4 year old Dane.  The folks at Bouton were incredibly kind and helpful from the moment we called to the end of our walk-in vaccine clinic visit.  Our guy is big and having him at the vet with a lot of other canines can be tricky if he is in the mood to sniff and play, but the staff there were so aware of this and were able to get us in and out in no time.  Not only was Bouton a very convenient and affordable option for us, I could tell right away that this is the kind of caring and thoughtful vet that we will want to take our current and future furry family members to.Thanks again!! I've been taking my dogs to Bouton for almost 7 years!  I cannot find trustworthy animal hospital like them, that's why I still bring my dogs to there even though I don't live around that area any more... Sadly I live by the airport, DIA, now :(  which is about over an hour drive (just one way).  A couple of nights ago, I found one of my dogs, Sunny, got some quail egg size lumps around her back area on both sides.  I took her to the animal hospital close to my house since I didn't have time to drive down.  That vet just touched around her body and said "they are just fat tissues, so no worry..."  I expected farther examination there, but they didn't, so I decided to take her to Bouton today.  I didn't make an appointment which I should have, but they were willingly to squeeze me in despite of their busy schedule!!  (They were totally booked today) I really really appreciate it!  Dr. Caldwell checked her bumps and took some biopsy to see exactly what they were.  First, she also thought they were fat tissues, but after that fine needle correction, they saw some blood and some puss tissues on the slides.  They sent those to the lab today and get the result back tomorrow.  I really hope it's nothing serious, but after seeing Dr. Caldwell, I felt much better and was relieved.  I recommend taking your babies over there! My dog was very ill. They got me in first thing. Excellent care and really caring staff. Sadly, she had to be put down. They didn't try to sell me on promises or further useless care or squeeze any more money out of me. They let me stay by her side, have a private moment with her beforehand, and then administered it to her so she could find peace. Dr. Caldwell, Dr. Huston, and the entire staff are exemplary, they are the kindest most compassionate doctors and staff around!  The doctors will take time to educate you on your pet's condition, and the staff follows up on your pet after any procedure. We have three veterinarians in the area, but we travel the extra 5-10 minutes to get to Bouton.  We rate Bouton five stars!  We have referred our friends to Bouton and they are all very pleased! I've been taking my dog to Bouton for several years and I love the entire office.  The vaccination clinic is a great time and money saver but I've also been in for emergency appointments.  On one particular visit, my dog had a pretty bad cut but it would have been very pricey to stitch him up because he would have needed anesthesia because of the wound's placement.  It was during a very difficult time and I felt terrible about not having the money to get the stitches.  But the entire staff was so great about making me feel at peace with my decision (it just meant slower healing time and more work on my part) and called periodically to check on the dog's progress.  My heart and the dog's wound healed fine. We now have a new puppy and of course she has become a Bouton patient too! Read Less

BVH is such a cute little vet, it has a county feel since it is out in a field among houses and barns. I took my 3.5 pound chihuahua here to be spayed and they treated her great! They knew much more about how to treat chihuahuas than other vets I have been to. They also gave great personal attention. Also, they work with Peke and Pom Rescue and help tend to all of their animals, which is a great cause. If you live around Littleton I would recommend taking your pet here. Read Less

Bouton Veterinary hospital is one of the best veterinary facilities that we have found here in the Southwest Metro area. Both Dr. Morton, and Dr. Caldwell are exceptional doctors. The Dr's never make us feel rushed and make sure they have answered all our questions. The entire staff at BVH is incredibly knowlegable and compassionate. They always remember our names when we call, or our faces when we enter in the office. I just can't say anything better about them, they are the best.
