After being a client of this Vet Hospital for 24 years, I am moving all of our pets to another care facility. The communication and customer service that I have come to appreciate and expect, doesn't exist here anymore. I have received contradictory information, been charged for services after I was told I wouldn't be, told that I would receive information and would receive followup calls and not receive any information, where I have had to chase down test results and information on a pet that was going through surgery and potential radiation therapy. I have called in to make an appointment for a bandage change with a Vet Tech and was told by the most rude receptionist that 'they did not have time' and I would have to wait a week. I called another facility and they took us in the same day - removed the bandage and sutures without hesitation. I am heartbroken that I need to do this but, anyone who has pets and considers them 'family' would want the best care possible for them - and I don't believe I can receive that any longer at Chatfield Vet Hospital. Took our kitten in for a bladder infection. The staff was so warm and inviting. They all made a fuss over how adorable or Kitty is. The vet tech and the vet we're so sweet and treated our payten as if she was the cutest thing they had ever seen. They gave us options on treatments and didn't make us go through expensive, unnecessary testing. The bill was only $90 and that included medication. We have found our forever vet family. Read Less

When I first took my three dogs to CVH, I got the sense that this is a long-time clinic that has earned a great reputation in the neighborhood. I wasn't proven wrong. We recently began visiting this clinic and they have been so wonderful. I even had my parents get on board with their services. Our puppy received her first exam and shots which they sent home a puppy bag with all sorts of great information. They were easy to schedule with and appointment was on time! We have also had the unfortunate euthanasia visits there. My mother's dog who was 15 years old and as of today our family corgi who was 13 years old. They were so kind and gentle. We have been seeing Dr. Crawford for eleven years for our dog. We absolutely love her and she really loves our dog! The prices are reasonable and they never do anything unnecessary. If I could give this 0 stars I would. The staff was very friendly, however, they lied and told my family and I that our dog had cancer when he in fact did not. We had been going to this vet for years, and my dog has always had health problems, but his foot had flared up and started to swell and we knew it was pretty serious. They did X-rays and different tests to see what was wrong and then proceeded to lie and tell us he had cancer and that he needed surgery that would cost $1000. The only reason we even found out he didn't is because my parents moved out of state and brought him to a new vet that said he in fact DID NOT have cancer (this new vet btw was absolutely incredible) anyway long story short this vet is apparently just money hungry. Like I said the plus sides were that the staff were friendly and they would always let my parents make payments when we were short on cash. But in the end the most important thing is my dog's health and his best interest. Read Less

I have been going to Chatfield Vet Hospital for FOREVER. They have been wonderful to my dogs and to myself. All of the staff are very friendly and so caring!!! The techs treat my dogs like they are their own. The front staff welcomes you with a friendly smile. Everyone there treats you like you like family. This vet office is the best place ever. My Boomer used to go to doggie daycare here and they loved him like he was their own. We had to put our first Boxer down and thank God we had them. They made the awful decision a lot better for us. We had to move out of state and recently had to put Boomer down, I'm grieving so bad because the experience was awful. Couldn't be any more pleased with them.  The staff is very friendly and helpful and Dr. Lori is the best.  I really thought that my 17-year-old beagle was ready to call it quits - after careful examination, she changed the dose on his medication and he is a different dog, even a day later!  He won't last forever but I am so glad for any and all additional days that he has quality of life and that I have him!  Thank you! We've been going to CVH for six years, since we moved to CO. Excellent staff, very caring and kind, patient with lots of questions and always willing to listen. Besides the usual everyday care of our dogs, we lost two beloved dogs in our 6 years here and CVH was amazing in their support, and care of our pups (and us) right up until the end. From the front desk to the techs, to the fabulous doctors- we were especially fond of Dr. Nemmers, who has since left, and we are big fans of Dr. E.!! A great place! This is my go-to vet for emergencies (not after hours) and urgent needs because it's closer than my dogs' regular vet. Somehow Dr. Conklin is always the attending when I'm there. She is thorough, compassionate and gentle with both me and my furry one. Her concern is for the animals's health, but she is sensitive to costs of procedures. The staff is amazing and displays the same concern and care for the animals as Dr. Conklin.This isn't "low cost" vet care, but it is reasonable and lower than many places I've been to. I've never felt pressure to do something just because it could make the clinic money; I always receive thorough explanations as to why something is recommended, and the pros and cons of any procedure-or choice not to do it.I haven't utilized their daycare, but after waiting for an appointment & seeing happy dog after happy dog enthusiastically run to staff for their day, I wouldn't hesitate to do so. The facility appears clean and well maintained, with a healthy staff to dog ratio. They also know each of the dogs who come in and are familiar with their quirks.If you're searching for quality vet care for your furballs, Chatfield Veterinary Hospital is definitely recommended. Great Vets, the place is clean, the staff is friendly, the Doctors are caring knowledgable and nice.  They schedule so that you are never kept waiting, and the waiting room isn't like a indoor dog park, in fact there is usually nobody waiting and you go right in.  Prices are very reasonable, in fact the last time we bought supplements for our dog they were cheaper than Amazon!  My dog loves going to the vet...which is the best recommendation I can give...GREAT PLACE! What an awesome experience!!! Our neighbor recommended we bring our dog here for a second opinion, and what a good move that was! Our 10-yr-old baby had developed multiple cysts and we were looking for the best way to treat them. Our vet was so helpful in explaining EVERYTHING in detail and she even showed us the actual slides of what she aspirated from each cyst. We were able to make a surgery appointment quickly, and the staff showered our boy with love. You can tell that this place only hires the best! Since the surgery, Chatfield has called to check up on him, and we were happy to report "no problems whatsoever". The incisions are clean and even, no redness. Chatfield vet is THE place to take your fur babies. We have been going there for 3 years.They treat you like family all the time. The degreed animal behaviorist is also top notch and has helped us tremendously with training our 2 Brittanies. Their day care is awesome. Nice big yard,not overcrowded and well trained staff. And always very flexible with our ever changing work/travel schedule. I would not take our beloved Brittanies any where else. The front desk staff is always friendly, courteous and seem to really love our dogs. Dr.Edelstein is the best and always provides a great explanation to the rather over protective fur moms. I switched to Chatfield Veterinary Hospital years ago when my neighbor mentioned she took her dogs to "doggie daycare" there. She was also pleased with the medical care her dogs received. As you walk in the door you are pleasantly greeted by the clerical staff and they check to see when the room will be ready for your pet. I have very diverse personalities on my three dogs, a Chi-pom, a yellow lab, and a large assertive Akita mix, plus a cat. The staff all are able to handle their unique and sometimes quirky personalities and from well exams to illness I have been completely satisfied with their treatment and care. My lab loves doggie day care, especially in the summer when the little kid swimming pools are out. Highly recommend. Read Less

Have been bringing pets here for several years. Dr. Cara Edelstein is fantastic! She takes time to answer all questions and give all options for care and then she listens! I have never felt pushed by her to do extensive testing on our elderly dog or to give more immunizations to any of our pets than make sense. Their fees seem reasonable and the canned food our dog now needs for her newly sensitive stomach can be purchased from them for less than I can get it online. Dr Crawford does an amazing job. She takes time to explain everything for you. The vets are very thorough. I used to go to another vet and kept asking if something was wrong with my dog and they kept saying it was arthritis. Then I boarded my dog with Chatfield and they found spleen cancer that my own vet did not find. They are always curteous, professional, kind and cheery. I love their kennel too. We bring both of our dogs here for daycare, boarding, and for annual check-ups/shots.  We've had nothing but great experiences so far!  Boarding may be a bit on the pricier side, but the dogs get their own little room and great personalized attention from the staff.  The facility is impeccably clean and the front desk and boarding staff are awesome.  I think this will be our vet as long as we live in the area.
