We recently moved to Longmont from Tennessee and the 2 day drive and subsequent settling in at our new home has been a bit of a challenge for our two cats. Before moving westward, we had a wonderful vet who took excellent care of our golden and our kitties, so we knew we'd need to be diligent and picky in our search to find a local veterinarian's office here that could offer us the same level of stellar care we and our fur babies had become accustomed to. We found that excellent care at Longmont Small Animal Hospital! They are a fantastic group of veterinary doctors, nurses and technicians and we are so happy, relieved, excited, grateful and thankful to have found them! They go above and beyond to provide thorough, compassionate care and take the time to be available and answer any and all questions. Dr. Mimi Elliott, Dr. Roth, Chamblee and Rachel, Jessica, Taylor and Kim have all been so kind and caring with our feline family members, we trust them completely with the good health of our little ones. (While I've only named the staff members we've met and dealt with personally, I am confident the others are "guilty" of being just as awesome as those mentioned above!)
I highly recommend LSAH to any and all pet owners because when it comes to the care of your animals, don't you want the best?!

Thank you to Dr. Wunder and the entire staff at Longmont Small Animal Hospital for taking such extraordinary care of our toy Schnauzer, Goose, during his neuter and removal of 5 baby teeth that needed to be taken out of his little mouth. The compassion, care, and medical knowledge coming from this veterinarian and staff regarding toy size breeds was outstanding. Dr. Wunder was prompt in calling me as soon as Goose was up and alert after surgery. Our dogs are our family members who we absolutely cherish. I would never entrust the care of them to any other veterinarian.

I can't say enough good things about the Longmont Small Animal Hospital! I had never been there before today. I called this afternoon, because something was wrong with our bunny. They had a booked schedule and some other unexpected patients, but assured me they could take a look at her between other patients. I showed up an hour later and they saw us right away. Rebecca, at the front desk was very kind and welcoming. We saw Dr. Wunder and I was very impressed with her. She really took her time with us, explained the x-rays, and explained what was wrong and went over all of our options. Not all veterinary clinics treat rabbits, and Dr. Wunder was very knowledgeable about them. She was also very compassionate, kind, and patient with all of my questions. Not once did I feel rushed or like I was being squeezed in. I highly recommend them!

The worst vet experience in 50 years of my life! Vet is overbearing and screams at you if you do not lead your family life as she demands. Very low on people skills and lacking all understanding of kindness in difficult situations. Maybe okay for shots but definitely not good for injury. Look else where even though they are not busy. Poor care resulted in the death of my companion. The Euthanasia was cold and protracted.

I noticed that Longmont Small Animal Hospital hasn't been reviewed since being under new ownership. I followed Dr. Wunder here from her previous practice over a year ago and have been so happy with bringing my cats to the new place! All of the staff has been very kind and helpful, and I can't say enough about how great Dr. Wunder has been. She noticed potential heart problems overlooked elsewhere, and solved a long-standing health mystery other vets never could figure out, and my cat is doing great ever since! Thanks!

I have a rat who fell very ill, very fast so I brought him here. The vet flat out told me that almost every time he had seen a rat come in that sick, they don't make it even with treatment, and then proceded to give him an injection antibiotic and 2 more rx in such a rush that there wasn't even time to think, ask questions, or explore other options. That visit cost $100. It would have cost $80 for him to have been put down. All they wanted was money and now I'm left with a miserable rat who is too sick to even move or eat and I can't afford to put him down. They don't care about the animals, your family members, they care about how much money they can squeeze out of you.

They were the first vet office to tell me this is a normal trait in calicoes. They take the time to explain procedures to me and listen to me. They answer all my questions promptly. I'm EXTREMELY happy with these kind people. My dwarf lion head bunny had an eye infection, his nails needed to be trimmed along with his teeth. They got him in a day after i called, got his medicine for under $40 , teeth trimming for $20 , and examination was only $40 as well! The doctor recommended good care tips and even gave him a courtesy nail trim. Way cheaper than any other vet I've been to for rabvit care. I'll be going here from now on (:

As I read all of these reviews to select a vet as we are new to town, thought we couldn't miss with selecting this vet. Our experience was SO very different than what is written here and the references to a female Dr. Shaffer. We had a male Dr. Shaffer and found him to be impatient, more concerned about his ""professional"" opinion than listening to what was going on with our dog; and not aggressive in treating a very serious condition. We initially thought a one-vet practice would provide us with personal care. The real consequence was the unwillingness or inability to deal with a serious condition quickly and to not carefully or thoroughly review blood chemistry results. After 3 1/2 weeks of care that included five visits in this time, and two misdiagnosis, our dog has died. When I came in to get our file for a second opinion, I was met with a rude receptionist and a vet who seemed insulted that we would do this. His ego was clearly more important than the care of our dog. The second vet was more concerned about the dog; immediately sent us up to CSU, but by this time, it was too late. I would not go to this vet if your animal has a serious illness or you need aggressive action.

We recently moved to Longmont from Tennessee and the 2 day drive and subsequent settling in at our new home has been a bit of a challenge for our two cats. Before moving westward, we had a wonderful vet who took excellent care of our golden and our kitties, so we knew we'd need to be diligent and picky in our search to find a local veterinarian's office here that could offer us the same level of stellar care we and our fur babies had become accustomed to. We found that excellent care at Longmont Small Animal Hospital! They are a fantastic group of veterinary doctors, nurses and technicians and we are so happy, relieved, excited, grateful and thankful to have found them! They go above and beyond to provide thorough, compassionate care and take the time to be available and answer any and all questions. Dr. Mimi Elliott, Dr. Roth, Chamblee and Rachel, Jessica, Taylor and Kim have all been so kind and caring with our feline family members, we trust them completely with the good health of our little ones. (While I've only named the staff members we've met and dealt with personally, I am confident the others are "guilty" of being just as awesome as those mentioned above!)
I highly recommend LSAH to any and all pet owners because when it comes to the care of your animals, don't you want the best?!

Thank you to Dr. Wunder and the entire staff at Longmont Small Animal Hospital for taking such extraordinary care of our toy Schnauzer, Goose, during his neuter and removal of 5 baby teeth that needed to be taken out of his little mouth. The compassion, care, and medical knowledge coming from this veterinarian and staff regarding toy size breeds was outstanding. Dr. Wunder was prompt in calling me as soon as Goose was up and alert after surgery. Our dogs are our family members who we absolutely cherish. I would never entrust the care of them to any other veterinarian.

I can't say enough good things about the Longmont Small Animal Hospital! I had never been there before today. I called this afternoon, because something was wrong with our bunny. They had a booked schedule and some other unexpected patients, but assured me they could take a look at her between other patients. I showed up an hour later and they saw us right away. Rebecca, at the front desk was very kind and welcoming. We saw Dr. Wunder and I was very impressed with her. She really took her time with us, explained the x-rays, and explained what was wrong and went over all of our options. Not all veterinary clinics treat rabbits, and Dr. Wunder was very knowledgeable about them. She was also very compassionate, kind, and patient with all of my questions. Not once did I feel rushed or like I was being squeezed in. I highly recommend them!

The worst vet experience in 50 years of my life! Vet is overbearing and screams at you if you do not lead your family life as she demands. Very low on people skills and lacking all understanding of kindness in difficult situations. Maybe okay for shots but definitely not good for injury. Look else where even though they are not busy. Poor care resulted in the death of my companion. The Euthanasia was cold and protracted.

Love these people. They always treat my rats like they are members of my family, unlike other places who either refuse to see them, or treat them as nothing more than vermin.

I noticed that Longmont Small Animal Hospital hasn't been reviewed since being under new ownership. I followed Dr. Wunder here from her previous practice over a year ago and have been so happy with bringing my cats to the new place! All of the staff has been very kind and helpful, and I can't say enough about how great Dr. Wunder has been. She noticed potential heart problems overlooked elsewhere, and solved a long-standing health mystery other vets never could figure out, and my cat is doing great ever since! Thanks!

Im never in doubt when I have to take/leave my best friend here. Matilda has been a rather sick bulldog lately with frequent visits to the vet. Not only do they treat my fur baby like a princess they are also there for me and my emotional needs. A supportive community full of love and hope. I am forever grateful of finding this place. Had to put one of our dog to sleep Thursday Maggie they were so kind it's such a hard thing but they're caring made it a little bit easier. They are so compassionate and loving with my pets. They were the first vet office to accept my calico (demon) cat without any hesitation or displeasure. I highly recommend this office for your pets.

I have a rat who fell very ill, very fast so I brought him here. The vet flat out told me that almost every time he had seen a rat come in that sick, they don't make it even with treatment, and then proceded to give him an injection antibiotic and 2 more rx in such a rush that there wasn't even time to think, ask questions, or explore other options. That visit cost $100. It would have cost $80 for him to have been put down. All they wanted was money and now I'm left with a miserable rat who is too sick to even move or eat and I can't afford to put him down. They don't care about the animals, your family members, they care about how much money they can squeeze out of you.

I have a calico cat and she is a demon at the vets office. This staff treats her with respect and love even in the face of her claws, teeth and contrariness. They were the first vet office to tell me this is a normal trait in calicoes. They take the time to explain procedures to me and listen to me. They answer all my questions promptly. I'm so glad I found this office.

I'm EXTREMELY happy with these kind people. My dwarf lion head bunny had an eye infection, his nails needed to be trimmed along with his teeth. They got him in a day after i called, got his medicine for under $40 , teeth trimming for $20 , and examination was only $40 as well! The doctor recommended good care tips and even gave him a courtesy nail trim. Way cheaper than any other vet I've been to for rabvit care. I'll be going here from now on (:

As I read all of these reviews to select a vet as we are new to town, thought we couldn't miss with selecting this vet. Our experience was SO very different than what is written here and the references to a female Dr. Shaffer. We had a male Dr. Shaffer and found him to be impatient, more concerned about his ""professional"" opinion than listening to what was going on with our dog; and not aggressive in treating a very serious condition. We initially thought a one-vet practice would provide us with personal care. The real consequence was the unwillingness or inability to deal with a serious condition quickly and to not carefully or thoroughly review blood chemistry results. After 3 1/2 weeks of care that included five visits in this time, and two misdiagnosis, our dog has died. When I came in to get our file for a second opinion, I was met with a rude receptionist and a vet who seemed insulted that we would do this. His ego was clearly more important than the care of our dog. The second vet was more concerned about the dog; immediately sent us up to CSU, but by this time, it was too late. I would not go to this vet if your animal has a serious illness or you need aggressive action.
