Do not go here if you want people who actually care about your pet. My experience very similar to Jayson's in that the staff at front desk is unprofessional and uncaring. This is the first review I've ever written but I felt compelled because my experience was review-worthy. My experience at Animalhouse Veterinary Clinic was, by far, the best experience I have ever had at any doctor's office in my life. Dr. Moran was attentive, compassionate, patient, extremely knowledgeable, and hilarious. He is a walking encyclopedia! I was his last visit of the day and he could have rushed me along to get home, but instead, he took his time explaining the intricate details of my cat's condition. In addition, he was conscientious about finances and helped me weigh the pros and cons of certain procedures to avoid breaking the bank whilst providing the best care for my cat. Used Animal House for a year and a half for vaccinations etc. which were all pleasant experiences. However, this weekend my dog became ill with severe vomiting and diarrhea. He was not symptomatic until Saturday evening and it progressively got worse thru Sunday. Called first thing Monday morning to ask for an emergency appointment (I was concerned about dehydration) and they told me they were booked for the entire day. While I understand the schedule may have been full it has always been my experience that a vet will accommodate an animal in distress...especially when it's a regular patient. When I expressed my displeasure the receptionist said I should have called on Saturday. As a result I'm switching vets. My dog is currently on an IV at another clinic and his condition is improving. I started going to Animal House in 2003. They have gone thru several changes. I adapted to all the changes and have stayed on with my pets. I LOVE it there. My daughter started bringing her dog there from WheatRidge since they are so awesome! They do order lab work before certain medications and procedures so be prepared to pay for it. As a Registered Nurse, I find this comforting that they are doing the right thing. I am actively involved in care decisions regarding my animals. Dr. Moran has brought a high level of care and skill sets to Animal House. When my Audie died tragically, I got hugs, cards and flowers from them! They are an amazing vet clinic! Read Less

I have been here several times. First couple of times - good, but they're always 15-20 minutes late for the appointment I showed up early for. Recently I brought my cat in & was shown a quote total, which I signed, they told me I'd be contacted if he needed anything further and about his progress. I kept me phone on loud & nearby all day. I called nearly 7 hours later worried, they explained what was done & that he was ready to go home. Still in work, I asked my husband to collect him on his way home. There he was met with an embarrassing conversation that $150 had been added to the bill, he was completely unaware of, for an X-ray he needed and that I was contacted & agreed to this. I was not contacted. I would not compromise my animals health, but do not make me out as a liar & just add -x- amount to my bill. I was furious. I never met with Dr. Moran, always Dr. Stewart & since he has left the practice has gone down in my opinion. Another thing both my animals were adopted so $55 examination fee was waived in lieu of this for the cat (A brief 3 minute exam) within 18 months we got our dog, also adopted, but $55 exam fee not waivered. Animal House is the place you can trust your pet children with. Rudy, the Vet tech is a wonderful person who goes way beyond the call of duty. Dr Moran is awesome and really loves animals and is a good doctor. Between the 2 of them, my kitties are well cared for. They both have spent a lot of time on the phone with me answering all my questions and giving emotional support in educating me in care for my newly Diabetic cat. What would I do without the caring and compassionate crew at the Animal House in Louisville. With my two geriatric labradors, I have to be at the clinic pretty much weekly. One of my guys is too old and sore to come in for laser treatments, so Melissa (one of the amazing vet techs at AH) has been to my house multiple times to care for him. Dr. Moran and the whole crew at Animalhouse were so fantastic with my Weimaraner, Gracie, and I. We were brand new in town and, unfortunately, were in need of some emergency veterinary service. Every step of the way, I was a part of the treatment planning process, and I was kept informed of her status throughout her time there. Dr. Moran truly cares for this patients. My first visit to Animalhouse veterinary clinic and every visit since then has been wonderful. Never before have I had a vet enter the room to greet me and immediately get down on all fours on the floor to greet my dogs first. They treat my furry friends and me with respect and care at each and every visit. They take the time to follow-up with phone calls and genuinely care about my pets and about me. We have been taking our animal family members to Animal House for nearly 30 years. The late Dr. Keith was our most trusted Dr. We are now with Dr. Moran and Vet Tech Rudi and could not ask for more wonderful, compassionate care of our girls, Millie and Tinkerbell. This is truly a Louisville family practice and long time business---- we feel so fortunate to have them! They did amazing dental work on both girls at very reasonable rates. I cannot understand the bad reviews for AHV. In the past, I had a few bad experiences with the staff, so maybe they are reviewing from past experiences. I was about to change vets when the new staff took over. I could not say enough good things about Dr. Mike Moran. He took care my golden for the last few years of his life. Every appointment started with him sitting on the floor and just letting Bailey hug him. His love and commitment to animals is obvious from start to finish. He takes the time to make sure we know all he can tell us about what he sees, even calling himself with results of tests that have to be sent out. Bailey had some not so common problems and when his time came, I was touched to see tears in Dr. Moran's eyes. I only wish all vets could care as much as he does. He listens, he advises, and he explains. I could not ask for anything more for the various creatures in my family. I only wish I could find the same for people in it as well. Read Less

We have so many vets in Boulder County -- unfortunately, this isn't one of them.   A condescending staff that is more focused on "upselling" any and all treatments (I think they are on commission) combined with a condescending and arrogant Vet -- makes this clinic a MUST MISS! ! ! if you seriously care about your pet, Arapahoe Animal Clinic is right up South Boulder Road and head and shoulders a better facility, at half the price, minus the attitude! I absolutely adore Dr. Moran at Animal House. I have two dogs that I love more than anything and everyone here at Animal House, but especially Dr Moran, take exceptional care of me and my pets. He is very conscientious and thorough. He goes over everything with me in detail, so there are no surprises. He never runs any tests that he doesn't think are necessary. Dr. Moran calls you personally to let you know how your pet did, and/or results of tests. He is personal, friendly, and unassuming. I trust him completely and cannot recommend him enough. I have been taking our dog to Animalhouse for nearly 3 years now and have always had good experiences. We have a 4 year old cockapoo who gets very nervous going to the vet or to get groomed. He even bit at his groomer about 6 months ago (that's another story but we have since changed groomers). The staff at Animalhouse have been very understanding and compassionate and have gone out of their way to make our dog relax and feel safe. I also want to add that I don't understand why only one review is given any weight on this site. There are many positive reviews that no one sees unless they seek it out. That doesn't seem fair.
