Two weeks ago my dog broke his nail pretty bad so I brought him into this vet which we have visited before. The vet said he would clip back the nail then wrap it. Two days after that my dog ripped off the bandage which I re bandaged it properly. Again he ripped it off, at this point his paw was twice the size and bleeding. When I called the vet the receptionist blamed me saying it was my fault for how I wrapped it. It was an hour before they closed and the vet was already gone so I had to take him to the ER. When the vet there checked him out, the nail that broke wasn't properly cut back at all which was causing my dog even more pain, and on top of that they said it shouldn't have been wrapped, he now got a skin infection. So after all that I called the original vet who would not refund me part of the exam due to his horrible practices and not treating my dog properly. All the staff was extremely rude and not wanting to help out. I suggest going to Twin Peaks Vet who is way cheaper, better quality of care and friendly staff, or the Animal Hospital on 65th is waaaayy better than this vet. Beware. Read Less

I have been to many vets over the years, pricing wise this place has been a miracle. Inexpensive services are always 5 stars in my book. But also, everyone who works their is honest and kind. A few weeks ago my dog was diagnosed with cancer, the vet didn't try to sell me on chemo or procedures- he was blunt and honest about how they probably weren't going to help. He helped me weigh my options and keep her comfortable. On black Friday we scheduled to emergency euthanize because of how fast she was deteriorating. I have never been present for this experience before but they were kind and understanding. I was hysterical, bawling, shaking, and a hot mess. They talked me through each part, and gave me time. How precious that time was to just hold my dog. They didn't rush me out the door or behave as if it was a normal everyday thing. They truly empathize. About a week or so later I received a hand written card from the staff with a heartfelt message. It opened those flood gates again because of their kind words and understanding. They never sugar coat things or try to sweep it under the rug. I am truly greatful for finding them as a new vet, and will continue to use them for my other dogs in the future. I truly have never felt so grateful for a business. So if you love inexpensive Veterinarians, friendly faces, great services and options, honest and forward employees, and easy fast scheduling and appointments- I recommend Big Thompson animal Hospital Read Less

I wish I had a do-over. I brought my 10 week old puppy to Dr. Wiltz when he exhibited symptoms of parvovirus. Dr. Wiltz told me that I had three options: euthanize my puppy (said I think to encourage an emotional reflex), pay "over $5,000" to bring him to a clinic that specialized in parvo and understood the importance of round the clock care, or bring him to Big Thompson for a "drastically reduced" price of $800 a day, then pick him up after work and bring him back the following morning for more "treatment". I know there's no way to predict whether he would have survived had I taken him to the more experienced clinic, but he contracted kennel cough on the fourth day and passed away that night at home. I can't understand how a puppy with a compromised immune system was allowed to be exposed to a dog with kennel cough. It shows me that this clinic has a wanton disregard for patient safety and basic medical best practices and procedures. Beware!Read Less
