This clinic has seen my 6yo Dachshund since day one. They know him by name and love him. I always call in a frantic and Amanda is usually the one to answer is always so sweet..quick to help and very tentative. Also, there was a puppy that they had for "adoption" that was dropped of there by his previous owner, and because my family was there at the right time, we were able to give him a loving forever home. Our English bulldog became very sick, we brought him in and immediately Dr.Doss discovered a pacifier he had eaten....9 months ago, he was going into shock and needed surgery right away. She was very honest with me and said he might not make it out of surgery but this was our only hope. I was crying and saying my goodbyes to my pup and told him to hang in there. Dr walker took the time to hold and play with my 10 month old baby. He made her a balloon out of a glove. Dr musselwhite came in on his day off to do the surgery. He kept our boy alive and has been watching him for a couple days now. I was amazed at how kind the staff was and I am beyond grateful for everyone there. They understand that dogs are like our kids and they want to help as much as they can. They have been updating me a few times a day about Otis. Words can't even describe the appreciation we have for north shore and the staff. If it weren't for dr musselwhite and staff, our family would be missing our best friend, we would be incomplete. I love North Shore! I'd visited various times during college, driving over from Fort Collins and when I learned that my dog, Hank, had a fractured tooth that needed pulled, and some other dental work done, I knew it had to be a place I trusted. The procedure required anesthetic so I was even more worried about my fur-kid. I waited until I made a trip back to Colorado to make his appointment just to see this fantastic crew that I knew I could trust. There were very reassuring and reminded me again that it was a simple procedure, and I had nothing to worry about. Their prices are very fair and everyone is extremely friendly and passionate about their jobs, and your pets. Hank came back good as new, with a fresh new smile, and ready for more teeth gnawing adventures. I can't imagine having to take him somewhere else. My cat was killed by a motor cycle rider almost 18 months ago. I informed the North Shore Hospital of her passing, as she was a registered patient there, and today I receive a 'reminder' that her shots are due!!! This has to be  the most insensitive act of any veterinary clinic that I have known. The only word I can use is 'disgusted'!!!!! Read Less

Dr. Musslewhite has so much experience (40+ years) that he is as knowledgable as anyone in the veterinary field. We have been bringing our pets to him for years and he always finds ways to get us out for cheap, not to mention he always addresses the problem quickly and concisely. I took my injured cat in to be examined and treated. He came home limping and had a swollen paw. The vet took him to the back to shave his leg and to examine him, I thought. She gave him a shot of fluids and sent me home with an antibiotic for him. Two days later, his leg was oozing puss and blood, and his hip, stomach and tail had bloody wounds on them as well. I paid them $184.00 to examine and care for him. Instead of taking him back to North Shore I took him to a vet that I had used previously several years earlier. She cleaned all his wounds, and has been treating him for the past two weeks. He is improving thank goodness. It is not the money that I care about, but the extreme lack of care that my cat got. I feel like this vet at North Shore did not even examine him closely. She took the easiest way to get me and my cat out of there. I will never go back there and I am telling everyone that I know. Staff was very nice, did a good job on my dog! I only did 4 stars because I found it to be quite pricey. I chose this vet because people talked about how affordable this office is. Annual shots and a teeth cleaning was $385, which each vaccine being about $30, plus a $40 examination fee. My old vet in Texas charged me less than $100 for all of that... Perhaps vets are just way more expensive up here! I would recommend, but if you're going based on affordability, it's definitely not cheap! Read Less

I am really pleased with North Shore Animal Hospital. We all know that veterinary care is not cheap. So while North Shore is not cheap, it is definitely one of the cheapest animal hospitals that I have found in Fort Collins/Loveland area.Dr. Franklin has seen my puppy twice and she is very informative and explains things well. The staff at North Shore are as good as it gets. They have been in business for so many years that they truly have things figured out. They were my go to vet before I left the state. I even lived in Denver and still used them as my main veterinarian!The staff is always friendly at North Shore. The majority of the staff have actually been there for 10+ years and they always know your pet when you walk in. Most of the time they know what you're coming in for before you even tell them! I've never had any complaints about they way they treat my animals, and I always feel like they give me options and explanations when recommending services.I'm not sure what Johnny B. is complaining about in terms of prices. North Shore is probably one of, if not the LEAST inexpensive veterinarian in the Northern Colorado area. They accept S.N.I.P vouchers, (spay and neuter vouchers) and offer a myriad of services such as laser therapy, dental services, routine surgery, wellness exams, and vaccines, all at costs that are significantly lower than other vets. As someone who has worked in the veterinary field, the costs have to be put into perspective. You see the cost come directly out of pocket without a good prognosis, unlike in human medicine where the majority of us only see the co-pay for our insurance, we rarely see the bottom line of what it costs to consider life-saving medicine. Take that into consideration when going into a veterinary clinic. They don't create the costs for tests and supplies, the lab and supply companies do.Moral of the story here, North Shore is an amazing clinic with an even more amazing staff. My pets need their check-ups and such done and I will be taking time out of my christmas vacation to make sure that I visit North Shore to get them all caught up.
