I went on Thursday to pick up medication for my mother in laws dog. She is unfortunately on bed rest due to a nasty cold so I told her I would get it for her. I have only heard good things about the techs and Drs at Woodmoor so I figured it would be a short and pleasant visit. I was very wrong. I walked in and went to the front counter. The receptionist (platinum blonde with a short hair cut) didn’t even greet me. It wasnt until I said that I was there to pick up medication that she even said anything to me, and when she did it sounded like I was interrupting/annoying her. She went over and grabbed the medication when another receptionist (dark brown hair and glasses) came around the corner. She IMMEDIATELY greeted me with a warm smile and a peppy voice. When the blonde checked me out she kept a cold demeanor and was very short. After I was fully checked out, I started walking to the door expecting a “have a nice day” from the women who was helping me, but it was actually the otherreceptionist (brown hair and glasses) who said it. I usually don’t post things like this, but the way my mother in law talks about the back staff, I was expecting more from the front staff. Woodmoor Veterinary Hospital has been very helpful since we moved up to Monument 10 years back. Since then they've helped us to keep both of our dogs healthy and up to date on vaccinations. If my doctor was as impersonable as this doctor was to my dog I would change doctor's. And that's exactly what we are doing after over 3 years of going to this vet we are changing. I believe the web site says new owners and doctor's. Well in my opinion this doctor was very unpleasant and unprofessional. As faithful patients of Woodmoor Vet, we were traumatized at the treatment our beloved dog received in her final moments. Not only once, but twice they did not provide her with enough medication of either sedation or 'sleep'. We had to witness over an hour of multiple injections and numerous trips in and out of the room. It was absolutely horrible. I complained at the time, received nothing. It took me over 6 months to return for her remains and again I provided them with a detailed letter as to what happened and how it affected us. Again, NOTHING. Brought my pup in and the staff was amazingly helpful. Whether it was what to do Or not to do with him I could tell it came from actually caring. The last place I took him they just saw me as an invoice. Woodmore remember my pup and me as soon as I walked. Their staff is amazing and their doctors are so personable. I am new to the area and took my kitten to Woodmoor after a friend recommended the clinic. The staff was friendly, warm and helpful and discussed all possible options for both vaccinations and neutering, with no sales pressure, and a clear desire to help me figure out the best option for my cat and her circumstances. When I took her to be spayed, the staff all gave her lots of love and attention, which made me feel like she was in good hands. After the procedure, each person at the clinic who talked with me had observations about her personality and activity during recovery, so I felt reassured that she had been watched attentively during her stay. Her recovery from the spaying was remarkably quick and uncomplicated; the clinic's fees included a long-acting injection for post-surgical pain, which made a huge difference. The incision was also very small and neat; I was impressed by the precision of the cut and how quickly my kitten recovered. While we were away for a few years, in the 15 to 20 years that we have lived in northern El Paso County, we have happily taken our dogs to the Woodmoor. With each of our dogs, the entire staff has been wonderful. This was particularly true when we recently had to say farewell to our ailing Corgi. Such a decision then following through with that decision is never easy, but Woodmoor graciously helped us through it. I have been to Woodmor Vet a couple times. Had great experiences,however, on 8/30/16 not so good. I will not ever go back. My dog needed a dressing change involving a splint. She requires one every 10 days for the next 6-8 weeks. So I told the tech that took us back to a room that I wanted to be present for the dressing change because I felt with some instructions and my background experience I would be able to do the care at home. My dog was taken to the back to be examined and the tech said she would come get me. After waiting, the tech came out and said the vet suggested that I should bring my dog back in for the regular changes. I again informed her that due to the cost I did not want to do that and I would like to see the dressing change. She said that she would update the vet and get me a quote. Dr Curtis then came out and educated me on the dressing changes and suggested that I bring her back rather than doing them myself. I suggested I watch the procedure and see how "complicated" this dressing change would be. She responded, "I already did the dressing change". WTF??? Did I not make myself clear? Since when does procedures happen on any patient whether dog or human happen without permission?? They obviously were forcing me to bring my dog back since $60 for a dressing change was in their best interest and not in the owner. They obviously just wanted my money. I will not tolerate this type of service and will not be bringing any animal back to them. I hope that if you care for your pet you will consider a place that listens to you and your pets needs and worry less about money!!!!Read Less

I took my older standard poodle in for a second opinion and everyone was really good. The Dr. explained things very thoroughly, took her time with my dog and was very knowledgeable . After an experience with another local vet, someone had recommended Woodmoor Veterinary. I was so happy that we made the switch. We have 2 cats and a dog, all of varied ages, 2 Seniors that have been treated with TLC. The staff is very accommodating and when you have an appointment, they honor the time. Dr. Curtis and staff have been wonderful with our pets and realistic about all treatment options. I highly recommend their office and expertise for all types and ages of pets. Read Less

Love love love the office and staff and doctors. The only downside is the fees for shots are quite high in comparison to other vets BUT we like them enough to stay. They are very caring and gentle. But if its about the money look else where. We are blessed enough to have the means to spend the extra dollars but if we had more than two dog$ we'd have to look el$e-where. Read Less

I am the owner of 3 very small dogs and am never happy when I have to put them in the kennel. I have to say though, that Carol made this experience so much easier for me. I have one escape artist and she handled him very well. She made sure my senior girl got all of her meds and her special food. I was very pleased when I arrived to pick them up. My dogs usually have a sitter at home and are not used to all the chaos that naturally comes with pets being boarded. They actually did very well and I give Carol a lot of credit for that. She took very good care of them and they had no issues when I brought them home. (Except being tired) I will use this kennel again as the need arises. The only reason I gave it a like star instead of love is really because I do like them to be at home. Read Less

This is a really wonderful place. A few weeks ago, we took our fluffy black cat Midnight in with a hurt paw. As it turns out, she had broken her toe and was in quite some pain and wet herself on the ride there. They dried her off (and even hosed out the carrier for us!) and repeatedly told her what a wonderful kitty she was. They took care of her and gave us pain meds for her. This isn't the only good experience we've had with this place. I've taken in my Oreo cat for a dental, they do an excellent job grooming our two stinky dogs, and every checkup here has been amazing!
