We've been taking our two dogs there for years and have always seen Dr. Hess, who is great. We had a sick pup and Dr. Hess was performing a surgery so we saw a Dr. Castillo. She seemed ok during the appointment but wanted to keep him for some blood work. When we picked him up, she told us our dog had cancer and wouldn't live but another couple of months. When I called to ask some further questions she was gone for the day so I talked to Dr. Hess and he said it's only 50/50 of cancer, it could be nothing. After further testing we found out it was nothing! Why tell people news like that and be definite about it when you don't know! She also prescribed him a medicine for diarrhea, which it turned out he had a blockage....worst Dr ever! Read Less

What an awesome place. We have been taking our dogs here since it opened it doors and the new staff seems to fit right in with the other staff members. People are very happy to work there and it shows with the great pet care we have received. Unfortunately, we have had a few occasions when an animal was very ill or injured and the staff immediately referred us to an emergency facility for treatment. Full disclosure we were 5 minutes late. The appointment scheduled for 11:40 we arrived at 11:45. We were told because we were 10 minutes late they couldn't see our dogs. After having the receptionist confirm by her own clock it wasn't 10 minutes she said the previous client was still being looked at. What makes this extra frustrating, nobody was in the waiting room and both examination rooms were empty. I asked how long she thought this appointment was supposed to take and she said they just book really tight on weekends. I have been to three other vets in the Parker area but decided to try Pine Grove Animal Hospital on a recommendation for pain management for my senior girl. I am so happy with everyone there from the docs to the vet techs to the front desk. I recommend them to all of my customers too.  Their prices are reasonable and you can tell they are there because they love animals. I highly recommend this place based on the treatment given to my dog. The vets (Hess and younger female vet) and the staff are very friendly and helpful. I was referred to Pine Grove by a couple of friends, but after submitting a request for an appointment online and waiting 5 days, I decided to call and leave a voicemail. Two days later and I still have not received a call back. I have made an appointment with another vet and will not be recommending Pine Grove due to their lack of response through their website and voicemails. Read Less

Dr. Hess has been "my hero" for the care and dedication he has shown my cats through their illnesses over the past six years. I moved to Colorado about two and a half years ago and was very nervous in finding a new Vet to care for my 3 dogs (which are like my kids). Dr. Costello, Dr. Hess and the entire staff have exceeded my expectations. They have gone above and beyond to provide excellent care to my dogs and have made personal phone calls to check on them and me! My dogs have had some serious troubles this year with a hematoma in an ear, a UTI, and a dog fight with some trauma to the ear. Each time I have brought one of my dog's in (even in an emergency situation and without an appointment), they have opened their arms and fixed my babies up.
