You wrote a review for Wendel Veterinary Services 11 minutes ago1.0 star rating 12/11/2017We were initially very impressed with Dr. Tom Wendel. So much so that we recommended him to several people. On his first visit he did a thorough job with the 2 horses we had him look at. It was a little odd that he had his toddler daughter with him, but he said he was having a daddy-daughter day so we thought this was nice of him and thought it was unusual for him to have his daughter. We also felt he was condescending, talking to us as if we knew nothing about horses, but assumed it was because he didn't know we were experienced horse owners and talked to us as if we didn't know anything about horses. After a few more visits for various things, he still had his daughter with him and she was getting into everything. I felt I had to baby sit her as he pretty much ignored her, letting her get into whatever she wanted. This was a dangerous situation for his daughter and created a liability for us. We began to realize this was the norm and made sure we had someone on hand to watch her. He also continued to condescend us and was also never available for emergencies. The last straw was when we had a mare foaling that was in distress and he refused to answer our phone calls. We lost the foal and would have lost the mare had it not been for another vet that did answer our calls. We will never use Dr. Tom Wendel again, and I would not recommend him to anyone and I advise anyone currently using him to find another vet before its too late. Very unprofessional! Read Less

I've now had 3 experiences with Dr. Wendel and I am beyond impressed! Once was with a neighbors 27 year old horse who severely cut himself right after Christmas. We called 8 vets and no one would come out. Dr. Wendel was on his way home from being out of state. He drove all night and when he got to Colorado, he came right over and fit us in in-between a colic. He goes above and beyond, is always there to answer questions, and always either answers his phone, or calls right back! I was referred from a great friend, Annie Eitel, and I am SO thankful! Best Vet Ever! After a couple years of trying different vets in the Denver metro/Parker/Elizabeth area and being disappointed, Dr. Tom Wendel was referred to me and I felt like I hit the jackpot. He is an honest honest vet. He has taken care of my horses with everything from routine vaccines, to lameness issues, to emergency visits due to injuries and sickness to chiropractic work. My favorite things about him are how quickly he returns phone calls and emails, he is always there when I need him, and his prices for his services are reasonable. I have referred him to a few friends of mine in the Parker area and I know they love him too. I highly recommend him-he really is the best! Read Less

Doc has saved my horses from colic and other mishaps on numerous occasions and is always very helpful on tips and advice on so many things I've been unsure of in the past. I'll always recommend because of the professional and friendly atmosphere and I can always guarantee my horses will get the BEST of care no matter what may be going on.
