Low reviews from irresponsible owners and disgruntled former employees? We take five dogs to this provider. I have never felt anything but the utmost care from this operation. Took our new puppy in to set an appt, and he was gone in 30 seconds being loved on pampered. Compassion is the norm with our visits, and I want a healthy dog. I don't care if eye contact is made or not. Socializing your animal is the owners responsibility, not the Vets. There is nothing the Vet can do in 10 minuets to correct 5 years of owner negligence. If you cannot afford medical treatment for your animal, you obviously should not own one. It's part of being a responsible owner. Disregard the negative reviews and give this provider consideration. We love Dr. Dukes and her staff :) I lost my beloved Sugar Jak just over a year ago and Dr. Dukes personally called to check on him several times. She has taken care of our cat, our puppies with parvo, healthy puppies and our aging adult dogs. I would highly recommend Special Pets if you have an animal that is special to you and that you need vaccinated or medically cared for! Half the people who work here that I've encountered are great, half are very impersonable. It took them 40 minutes to see my kitten, we spent maybe fifteen in the room and they did most of her shots, but then kicked us out of the room early and finished up her shots in the waiting room. They're horrible!! It's a horrible place to be!! I worked there for two months and was fired on untrue accusations. The Dr never heard both sides of the story, only the side that made me seem like a racist. My brother is black and my mother is Japanese. I'm not a racist in the least!! I was fired on the spot without any chance to explain myself. The conclusion I came to is that Dr Dukes does not care at all about her employees. Read Less

I found Dr Penny to be Standoffish . Our dog has developed uncontrollable anxiety to the point where we no longer can relax in our own home. The Doctor showed very little concern, never made eye contact . Instead ran some Very Expensive tests only to tell us nothing is wrong. Gave us a Script for an anti-anxiety med that had the opposite affect on our dog. When I called back to get help the Doctor wouldn't even talk to me, even after I asked the receptionist twice to Please talk to the Doc.Read Less

I absolutely love Special Pets! My dog had Heartworms and they were there every step of the healing process. They educated me thoroughly about the disease. Heartworms can be fatal, but I knew he was in good hands. He now has gained weight, and is more active! I would recommend Special Pets to everyone! Read Less

I tried a lot of other clinics before I settled on SpecialPets. I had initially chose them because they are located less than two miles from my home, but I recently learned why I've stayed with them: their kindness. I have been taking my puggle to SpecialPets for almost a year and a half. They employ some of the most professional, kind and loving people. Rose has given me so many dog recipes and free quick advice. The SpecialPets team has even even helped Lanie lose almost five pounds, something I never thought could be done! Their grand opening was such a blast and I look forward to another Halloween bash! Needless to say, I love this vet clinic.
