Brought my 18 year old dog here 20 min before they closed to treat his bitten ear. They got him in right away, stood 2 hours late to stitch and repair his ear. First time in was today. We had a situation where we needed to get our dog in asap as he had an infection under his nail. They got us in quick. Place was clean and presented well. ALL of the staff was incredibly polite and friendly, and the vet we had was amazing. He answered all of questions, and then some, and made our pup feel incredibly comfortable. We will use them again. Do not go here!!! Let me tell you about MY horrible experience!!! If I could rate a 0, I would. I want to start off with saying I was recommended here by someone with large breed dogs and they are great to the person whom recommended me. However, here is my story. When I had to make an appointment they were fantastic, the lady on the phone was nice and helpful. I got an appointment later that day for what I thought was an impacted anal gland on my boxer that happened in 2 days. My girl also has anxiety due to prior experiences but as soon as we walked in, she was comfortable!!! I was so so happy to see her not freaking out. I got there early, because I was worried about my pup, and they actually got me back in a room and seen early so that was nice. Then all the issues start. I told them why I was there and that I had done a little bit of research myself to figure out what was going on because this is my first dog... the first thing the vet tech mentions without emotion is cancer. I was like, okay, I understand it's common in this breed, but I wasn't convinced it was cancer just right off the bat. She took some notes and got the Dr. He comes in, I explain everything again. He wanted to do a physical examination to try to expel the gland if needed and tried to do so in the room with me which I appreciated greatly. He seemed a bit dumbfounded and said it's not expelling and that he is thinking this could be an aggressive tumor. I was floored. I wasn't prepared for that. I asked what the chance it could be an abscess or still possibly an anal gland issue, he said he was pretty confident it was neither and that I needed to get back in within the next couple days for her to have surgery because it's extremely dangerous. He said he will give me antibiotics and if it happens to go down in 24hours maybe we could do without the surgery. The estimate was 600-1100.. 600 being best case scenario an abscess. He left the room and of course I'm trying to keep it together. The same vet tech we had been dealing with told me they don't do payments but that it's important I get her in and such, and she would try to talk to her manager about letting us make payments. She also then starts trying to "make me feel better" by belittling my situation and telling me all about her personal life and financial situation. "I have cats, and sick dogs, and a horse and my husband just left me and I dont make enough for everything..." literally laying in to me that my situation is not that bad. Never have I been treated like that by a tech/nurse! So I left there paying $120 for that visit and confused. Well to make a longer story shorter, 24 hours later, she was worse and dropping weight. After being convinced, I took her in for a second opinion with a different vet and come to find out, it was an abscess and she most definitely did NOT need surgery. They just drained it. The Eastlake vet never ran any diagnostic tests such as aspirating it to see what the cells were before screaming tumor and cancer. I was out of the second vet within 20min and never once did they say the word tumor or cancer. And to top it off, as serious as they made this situation out to be, they didn't call me to set up a payment plan till 3 days later. Not sure why the love I have for my dog, was taken advantage of by this vet but my animals will never go here again. It was a $120 mistake that put my whole family though an unnecessary emotional roller coaster ride. Read Less

One of the worst vet visits I've had. She barely looked at my dog and cost me $58. He had a circle shape spot that just appeared one day. There was still halt but a darker color and shorter. Vet Emily said maybe hypothyroidism but not sure. $170 blood test to find out. Kept telling me really needed teeth cleaned and maybe he was licking that spot and turned colors from bacteria on hos teeth Really! Said had a heart murmur from not having teeth cleaned. Said eye staining was also from teeth. Hello he is Maltipoo very common in Maltese. I agreed to a lepto vaccine reasonable priced then charged $5 to discard needle. What a racket I could get rich off what they make off that alone.. Cost for teeth cleaning wad between. $600 to $1100. Out of control. I would like to find a vet that cares more about what pet needs than what's in owners pockets. Normal working class people do not have that kind of money..... Read Less

I really like these guys. However the vet with the crazy mustache needs to stick to working with cats.  Has no real skills calming big dogs down. Otherwise these guys (including crazy mustache) are really good. The entire staff are clearly animal lovers and it shows!! Read Less

I give Eastlake 3/5 stars because the vet care that my dogs receive is great. They never push medications, special food, or any other gimmicks on us. I feel like the vet really wants to help our dogs, and if necessary, will recommend medication or even OTC/home remedies to help them. If I could give the vet care 5 stars, I would. If I could give the front office staff one star, I would do that also. They are rude and typically fail to follow up. I have only had trouble a couple of times, but my husband is constantly complaining about how awful the girls are on the phone and front desk. In fact, we have considered changing vets just so we don't have to deal with them, but I personally love the vet there (and the techs are good too), I have convinced him to stick with Eastlake. Who knows how much longer we will be going to and recommending Eastlake Vet. Read Less

Absolutely amazing! I have never had a vet spend an hour with my pup and I. I didn't feel rushed at all and really felt like they cared about my dog and helping him feel better. I have found a vet I will be going back to for a long time!! Thank you for helping my highly allergic overweight baby when other vets could not!!! Read Less

I took my beloved baby girl Heidi in for a dental exam and both Heidi and myself was treated very well and with great professionalism you rarely see nowadays. I am new to the neighborhood and I am so happy I found a new Veterinarian that cares about Heidi and Ivan as much as I do. I highly recommend this place. One bonus is they offer a Veteran's discount! I cannot say enough about how satisfied I am with the care at Eastlake and with Dr. Kieger in particular. I am there frequently, it's true, but the front desk staff is always welcoming and at this point knows me & my dogs when we walk in. I have met with multiple vets there to address my geriatric dogs needs, and they were all competent and thorough. Dr. Kieger has become the vet I usually see. He is very good about sharing all the information he has with me and talking me through my options. He has several times asked for permission to share the details of my pet's condition with a colleague that specializes before we decide on and begin a treatment plan. I appreciate that he always seeks out more information and is reserved in his approach to treatment. His approach means that I am more confident following his recommendation when he thinks a more invasive treatment is necessary. Read Less

I took my dog in for the follow up and supposed to get just a refill. The doctor glanced at my dog really quick and gave me 8 weeks of the antibiotics, then I got charged for $46! (not the medication fee) We knew what was going on with him, just needed to get refilled. She didn't spend even 5 min, and I thought the follow-up was no charge unless it gets involved with more testing. She said she needed to charge for her time even though she didn't touch my dog. We spent about $350 for all testing stuff last time. I found a better and reasonable vet in commerce city area, so I'm glad I moved on without any regret.I don't recommend this place to anyone. Dr. Bill Kieger and staff are truly angels. My husband and I came in for an emergency after our furbaby Bella had some complications during delivery of her puppies. The vet was completely clueless and had no idea what was wrong with my dogs. He spent maybe 10 minutes with them offering no advice or help until I asked if it could be a reaction to a vaccine (a suggestion from a vet friend in another state). He said it could be that but maybe not and then sent me on my way. It cost $220 for no answers and a couple minutes with the vet. Read Less

I have had nothing but trouble with this office. The one vet we have seen in 2 years was nice. However, all of the techs and the front office staff are plain rude. As our dogs are current patients there, they wanted to charge me $58 each for an office visit to simply administer an intranasal bordatella vaccination. In total, between two of our dogs, it was going to be $170 for two bordatella vaccines. That is only my dealings from today! Not to mention it's like pulling teeth to get records. Prior to today:We had a new puppy about 7 months ago we took to get updated on all of her shots, and by the time we left we had spent over, unbeknownst to myself until getting the bill, $400. Yes, she did have worms; but that is not unusual for rescues. We have since had all animals tested  in the house (3 dogs in total, 3 cats in total) to be sure our house was free of worms. As each test came back negative we were thrilled! But since then, they still say we can't bring our dogs there for grooming or boarding or we have had to test our 8lb Malshi, right before boarding her, again for worms. Otherwise they wouldn't board her. This was AFTER I called an hour before drop off to make sure they could board her since her test was negative. Instead, they changed their minds and charged me $40 something for a new test and I had to wait an extra 30 minutes and ended up missing my flight out of town. She came back negative! Well, that's great. However we already had a negative test on file from not 2 months prior as verified by the receptionist I talked to on said phone call. Since then, every time we call or make an appointment, they want to test each animal for worms/parasites they don't have. Additionally, they always say they've left me messages or tried to call - and I've never once seen a message or missed calls to tell me about test results. Funny though, they always have had the right number on my profile. We found a new vet. New vet is not charging for all of the things these guys did. I'm so sad, too, because I don't like changing doctors on my animals. That said, it's more important they go somewhere that actually cares vs somewhere that wants money. Read Less

We have been taking our animals there for the last two years. At first we loved them but then the vet that we were seeing left. I was not happy with Dr. Tracy ' s treatment of my animals. I have also had numerous issues with their front desk staff. They mixed up my animal  s records with another cat and wouldn't listen to me when I kept telling them they had the wrong record. Calls not promptly returned when trying to get order clarification.   I asked for my dogs records to be faxed 2 times and finally had to go in and pick them up myself. Read Less

My family has had lots of veterinary disappointments over the years. After a few back to back ones, and almost losing our new baby girl, we felt completely hopeless and overwhelmed to start over with a hunt. Getting a referral for Dr. Emily Miller at Eastlake has been an absolute gift. We have found our home. Not only is the doctor everything we have needed: patient, kind, compassionate, knowledgeable; ALL the support staff is welcoming, never rushes me, says hello to our kitty by name and are truly like friends. The prices are so fair and they offer comprehensive care, even for my "special" cat. I love this place. :) My family is even moving 40 minutes away and I won't even consider leaving Eastlake. It was a very difficult year for us and they have always been supportive and caring. We started going there a few years ago. My German Shepherd had allergies and everyone just wanted to stick him on steroids and get him fat. Dr. Tracy actually found a way to get his body to stop being allergic to things. No more steroids! Eventually my dog just kept getting sicker. We did not have a good blood line. His stomach turned (bloat), ACL surgery, and finally he got Degenerative Myelopathy. He only made it a few months after that. Eastlake was always right their by my side. Dr. Tracy actually came in just to put Kain down that day. That is loyalty. Now it has been almost 3 years. You know what else I noticed, all of the front staff and receptionist are still there! All of the same staff. They must treat their employees well if they can get them to stay that long. I have been using Eastlake Veterinary Clinic for my dogs since 2001 and they have been the best. They offer great care though all stages of a dogs life. I had a Golden Retriever that was able to live till she was 14 years old with the excellent care for her aging issues, like acupuncture, laser treatments, adequen injections. And then when it was time to say goodbye they were the best to work with and very caring. The whole staff is great and friendly and helpful. It is easy to get appointments. The technicians are great. Dr Harrington is the best to work with, she is very caring, explains things well and helps you make the best decision for your pet and your budget. Read Less

Eastlake has been the vet for our dog Cookie since she was born in 2003. Everyone is caring, the vets are honest and upfront about everything. We've since moved 40 miles away but they are still my vet. Thank you to all the current and previous staff at Eastlake. Nobody wants to think about their beloved pet's end of life, but it is a reality we all have to deal with eventually as pet owners. I recently visited with my 19 year old cat, Jadzia, and knew that her time was near. The staff treated us with great compassion and helped give us a dignified end to my beloved cat's life. The staff examined her, gave us the option to do blood work to diagnose, and agreed to do it in house since they knew we wanted quick answers. Dr. Miller and the staff were very caring and compassionate as she presented us with a diagnosis, presented options, and scheduled a time to euthanize the same day. We were given time alone with her to say goodbye and paid before the procedure was done. This was my first time going through this experience and it is very sad, but the way that the staff treated my beloved pet, me, and my wife really made it as easy as it could be. I previously had my cat treated here and was also happy with the care she received. I would definitely recommend this clinic if your pet needs care. Read Less

I would not recommend this facility to anyone needing any type of Veterinarian care. The Veterinarian we met was horrible from the way she entered out exam room, her lack of contact with our cat, her horrible "bed side manner" and her attitude. She made a hard decision that our family had to make even worse. The staff was very off base on what they told me during two phone conversations prior to our appt. there are numerous great Veterinarians in the Northern Denver/Thornton area and Eastlake Veterinarian Clinic is NOT one of them.
