I took my elderly dog here for a second opinion and they were caring, thoughtful, kind and competent. Got me in to the correct treatment path ASAP and followed up. When we had to say goodbye to my baby, they were quick to respond and so, so helpful. My other elderly dog needed a lot of dental and their prices were very reasonable and they were great with him. Each vet is caring and helpful; explaining what they are doing, what we should do and giving instruction without passing judgement (like not getting in sooner to get the dental done). The staff were always very friendly, however the price and diagnoses don't match up. When I purchased a puppy 4 years ago, the store offered a free first checkup here. I continued to use, usually Dr. Hover, since I was unfamiliar with the area. The first strike was her recommendation for my puppy to visit a canine orthodontist for either a tooth trim/root canal or a retainer. I had never heard of such a silly idea, and didn't take the very expensive recommendation. The second sort of strike was a visit with Dr. Fujinami. After months of telling my puppy "no toofies" when she'd get overly rough with her teeth, I was blanking on the correct word. The doctor looked at me like I was nuts and had no idea what I was saying. Most vets I've ever met are very friendly and welcoming to pet owners idiosyncrasies and cutesy talk. I was unhappy with the lack of understanding. The 3rd sort of strike was the insanely high cost of spaying my girl. There are plenty of spay/neuter clinics that do nothing but spay and neuter for a very low cost. If I remember correctly, Adams' cost was 180, about 4 and a 1/2 times the cost I eventually paid at one of those clinics. The final straw was when my girl developed a wierd scab on her eyelid. Dr. Hover took a scraping, charged over 200 dollars for the test, and came back with an answer of "not sure. Zinc deficient maybe?" The scab went away, and so did I. We use banfield now and are very happy with the vets, the costs, and quality of care. Read Less

Great vet! He was kind, thorough, personable, and knowledgeable. He encouraged the benefits of doing some optional preventative procedures but he was not at all pushy. I absolutely love the staff at this place.They are all very kind and helpful. The vet always explains everything being done which to me always puts my mind at ease since my puppy is my fur baby.I feel confident that my dog is getting the best care in the kindest way anytime I take her there.The only thing keeping me from giving them five stars is the parking us terrible and if you get there at a busy time would have to probably find a place somewhere across the street to park. I would give a six star review if I could. We started going here recently and I couldn't be happier. When I showed up Marion greeted me at the door and helped me get the puppies into the clinic. Marion Was very sweet, professional, and organized I've never been to a clinic where they hold the door open for you. We've been in twice for exams and immunizations. I can honestly say, that throughout all of those years, I really hadn't had a great experience with the places I went, regardless of the money I spent. I decided that when I did get a new pet, I would look for a different Veterinarian/Hospital. One that provided all services - not just well care - and can figure out what is wrong with your pet. I was introduced to Dr. Berman last summer. Not being satisfied with the Vet I had recently selected my new cat, Cleo, I talked with him about Boulder Vets and decided that I would check out Adams County Vet Hospital instead. I had been driving to Broomfield and it really wasn't that much further. I made a blind call, and was able to get an appointment within a short period of time. I requested Dr. Berman. When I showed up, my appointment was with Dr. Berman, not someone else, and I had a seamless entry for a new patient. I brought my cat's records and last bill, and didn't wait in the receiving area for more than 5 minutes. When I made the appointment, I asked what I needed to bring, and the person that took my call was extremely helpful and informative, and advised me of pricing when I asked. It's a great place. Clean, welcoming and my cat was so comfortable, which is extremely unusual, especially in a cat carrier. Dr. Berman was amazing, he gave a complete exam, three vaccines, and there was not a whimper, only purring. He told me that my indoor/outdoor cat was an aggressor as she had small scratches inside her ears. The things you don't know. Anyway, if you want a full service Veterinary hospital, with fair prices and experienced Vets performing your pets exams - go here. Dr. Terry Fujinami is the only vet for my beloved cats. Dr. Fujinami is a cat whisperer, and the kindest vet I have ever had. I am a student trying to get into a hospital where I could just shadow for one day so that I can get a better feel of a hospital setting for when I go on extern...whoever answered the phone was VERY rude. When I asked if they offer shadow days she snapped at me and said they don't do that then hung up. This is definitely not a setting I imagine to be working in. So unfortunate because they were on my list of places I would love to work at. They need to learn about customer service. Read Less

We have been taking our two beagles to ACAH for over 5 years now. Considering the amount of problems our dogs have had, we are regulars here! Dr Hover and Dr Berman have been so very good with us and them. They are both very detailed and make sure our dogs receive the very best care. All of our questions are always answered when we are there as well as over the phone. They follow up with us after every single visit and we are just so grateful. After my experience with the less than stellar receptionists today, I felt like a review would be in order. The vets are amazing with your animals and make you feel as though they are caring for their own furry baby. That is the only reason I gave two stars. Other than that, the two woman behind the desk need to understand what the underlying foundation of their job title is - customer service. If you don't like dealing with people, don't deal with them all day! The negativity oozes the minute you enter. You are not greeted with a hello nor pleasant smile. Come time for payment, you can forget about a thank you for your patronage. Remember, this is a business. Just like the boutique down main- every persons business should be VALUED. Their appointment setting system is EXTREMELY outdated. Handwritten?? Get with the times and a computer system so that you can avoid miscommunications like the one that started my whole mess. OR get a no show policy in place. I would have been happy to pay 25$ for missing an apt bc I got called into work, than deal with the passive aggressive middle school behavior that I was met with today. TOTALLY UNPROFESSIONAL behavior. I basically payed 72$ today to be treated like absolute dog s#<+ (no pun intended). Oh and did I mention they purposefully had me wait, just to prove their point? They didn't even question when I told them I'd being seeing a new vet- that in itself is inexcusable. Before this incident I had witnessed their snotty behavior but had chalked it up to a bad day. I purchased a new puppy at a pet store and was told to go to Adams County Animal Hospital for a free exam within one week. The person I spoke to on the phone was courteous and friendly and I was scheduled to come in the next day. I noticed how clean the hospital was when I got there and that it didn't have any odors at all.When I met the doctor, he seemed to like his job and my new puppy. He examined Annie carefully and explained that she had a mild case of Kennel Cough.He recommended a blood test and test for parasites .The tests were not part of the free exam but I thought it was worth it to find out all of my new dog's health issues. Annie's blood tests were normal but she did have Giardia. I was given some medicine for the Kennel Cough and giardia.The doctor asked if there were any questions that I might have. I said I wish I had a human doctor as thorough and kind as he was. I'll be back in 2 weeks for a follow up examination and vaccines Read Less

I have dogs, cats, and birds. I have been to Adams County many times with all of my pets. The doctors are amazing. All of the doctors are knowledgeable, caring, and so much more. The staff is also great. The receptionist are always kind on the phone and are very friend while I'm at the clinic. The techs are very good to my animals and treat them the way they treat their pets. I like the hours and the location. Parking can be a bit tricky, but the overall experience with them is well worth it. I can always trust the doctors and staff to give my animals the best care available. Read Less
